BEADING FOR TODAY

Hi Everyone!

I had a lot of errands to run....ohhh ha ha ha not running on crutches.... let me rephrase, I had a lot of errands to crutch today. That's better. So after dinner I whipped up this bracelet and ring set. The photo is absolute crap. It is really a pretty light lined yellow, and ocean teal, and a beautiful fuschia. I so need a new camera and some good lighting. Anyway you get the idea of it.
I am off to bed.
Sweet dreams

MY FRIEND LORI AND THE PIT BULL

Hi Everyone!

Today some of us are grieving with Beth for the loss of her dear pet Max. A Pit Bull that brought her 14 years of love, protection, and happiness. My good friend Lori Cook, yes the same Lori Cook that makes all my beautiful glass for me, has a story that will at first shock you, but then once you see and hear the strength and courage that Lori carries you will know an amazing woman. I am honored to have met her, through the internet, about 10 years ago. Please click onto the link to read Lori's incredible story.

MYA

Hi Everyone!

I just read that my good friend Beth from http://bellesanbeauscrafts.blogspot.com/ lost her pet Pit Bull, Max. In her blog she wrote how Pits get such a bad name. They do. I won't argue or debate the issue because my dog Mya is an American Red Nose Pit that I rescued from a terrible situation 13 years ago. She has been the best dog I have ever had in my family. She loves kids, other animals and of course us. Here she is old and grey faced but still gives us all the love she has.
Beth I am so sorry for the loss of Max.

Hi Everyone!!

Thanks so much for all the nice emails for getting back on both feet. Yesterday was a bit tough. My foot hurt less before the boot so I had to get a grip on that. Today it is a bit better. I did manage to get a piece started yesterday and finished this morning. Forgive the photos. I just snapped them on top of my computer desk.
I thought I had a photo of the base of this necklace and I don't, It is a huge raku button.
Enjoy the photos.

RINGS AROUND THE ROSIE

Hi Everyone!
I think I mentioned that on Sept. 3rd I will be showing and doing a demo at the Mind Power Art Gallery in Reedsport, OR. It is their 21st anniversary and every year there is a theme party. This year it is jewelry. I will be the seed bead person. Ahhh duuuaaahhhh really??? LOL So I want to show a variety of different seed bead pieces. For part of my table I thought rings would make a colorful showing. Here is what I have so far. Hope you like them.

P.S. my foot hurts right up to my knee. The doctor phoned again just before he closed and said he had a conference with the podiatrist and that the boot needs to stay on for 8 weeks!!! 8 WEEKSSSSSSSSSSS. Holy crap. Oh and stay off of it. haaa haaa haaa I am just cracking up over this. How does one stay off of a foot for 8 WEEEEEKKKKKSSSSSS. Thank goodness my sister-in-law, Carlene told me how to adjust and use the crutches. They are more compfy now.
OK on with the rings I just had to complain for a minute. Thanks for listening.

Ohhh myyy I should have air brushed the wrinkles out of my hands.

THIS CAN'T BE HAPPENING

Hi Everyone!
As most of you know I spent 4 months caring for my brother Vince in hospice. While I was in CA., where he lived, my left foot stated to hurt on the outside. After awhile I noticed a bone starting to protrude by where my heal begins. I had a doctors apt yesterday and had him look at me foot. By the way this has been very painful. He set me up for some ex rays. No biggie I am use to pain and just thought it was part of the lupus stuff. This morning Mike and I were getting ready to take a walk when the doctor phoned. OMG!! I have a fractured foot!!!! I have to stay off of it completely, do crutches and a boot. For any or you who have used crutches you know they SUCK!!!!!! The boot feels pretty good though. Thanks to my good friend Charmaine I didn't have to buy or rent crutches or the boot. She loaned them to me.
So it is not all bad I can just sit here and bead even more!!!!

LABRADORITE ????

Hi Everyone!
I am taking a quick break to get more coffee and to share with you a very cool bead. I have had this labradorite cab for some time now. Maybe two years. Lately I have been coming across it as I am looking for other bead items. It is no wonder since labradorite, on a metaphysical level, is It is said to dispel negativity and to bring clear understanding by enhancing clarity of thought and improving one's ability to cooperate with others in harmony. Labradorite is also said to give perseverance, strength and enhanced intuition when one is experiencing times of conflict and change. Ahhh yeahhh.... I think for me this stone has shown up just in the nik of time.

So here is a photo of my labradorite cab
The other day I was at Water Lily beads and studio located in the Brown Dog Antiques. I have shared with you before that this is one of the best bead stores and bead spaces in Florence.
I purchased this bead.
How cool is this????
Do you think it is labroadorite??

NOPE it is glass!!!!! We were so lucky to have bead artist Basha bring in her incredible beads for us. I could not leave this bead behind, as it matches my cab so well.
Can't wait to get started on this

MAN JEWELRY

Hi Everyone!

Well I got this piece done today. I am happy with it. The glass of course is from my dear friend Lori Cook from out of the flames. Check out her blog and etsy store you will be happy you did. Anyway it is so difficult to make man jewelry with Mike around. He wants EVERYTHING!!!! I told him he has to give me a chance to get my inventory up. Geeessss. Well he recently bought a new shirt that this necklace goes with perfectly. I think I will start charging him for the pieces he wants. LOL Yeah that won't work I have all the money hee hee hee.

OK enough of that here is the new necklace. I love this first shot. I didn't plan it I just set the necklace on the shelf and snapped. It came out pretty cool with part of my day of the dead people and my witchy tree painting in the background.

Enjoy

SWAROVSKI RIVOLIS OOOHH LA LA

Hi Everyone!
Yesterday I had a guest over to my house. She is a wonderful lady that doesn't bead. Yes yes I have non beading friends. LOL!!! However, she had purchased a necklace and earring set from a craft show that I must say..... hmmmmm ..... let's see how can I say this with out being to mean... OK I have it. This necklace set could win the ugly necklace contest. huuuhhh pretty good yeah? Anyway my friend wanted to fix it up so after some huge changes, throwing out most of the original beads, I showed her how to put it back together. I think I may have her hooked on stringing necklaces. :) Soooooooo, I told you all of that to say today and tomorrow are strictly beading days. I am so far behind..... I do work well under pressure though. I have three pain patches on and I am ready to go. Yeahhhhh lupus is trying to mess with me. I refuse refuse refuse to allow it in.
One thing to share with you. As in my title I received the most beautiful Swarovski Rivoli yesterday in the mail. It is an 18mm Peacock Eye Rivoli. OMGGGGGG it is amazing!!!! Of course the photos do not do it justice but you Rivoli freaks out there will get the idea. Ohhh I got this from a wonderful seller on Artfire. http://www.artfire.com/users/Forbeaden Check it out.

Everyone have a great day
Just tooooo awesome!!!!!

Oh I just had to get the little Rivolis to go with.

ON THE OREGON COAST

Hi Everyone!

Yesterday Mike, (my hubby) decided that I was having a hard day and a bit fragile. He grabbed a few things told me to get a coat and get in the car. What could I do??? We drove north on the coast hwy. It was cold, gray, raining and crappie as it is most days here. But seeing the seals playing in the pacific and the pelicans flying over head lightened my spirits. We stopped at my Nye Cottage Beads where I visited with my good friend Linda and the owner. As we were talking I mentioned I needed a counter case. She had one and wouldn't take any cash for it. We are trading out classes. Hey, how can I go wrong with that? We drove into Depot Bay and had lunch at Tidal Raves. Absolutely the best food and service on Hwy 101. Then up the road just a few more miles to Roots Beads. I love bead shopping with Mike!!! He points out all kinds of goodies and if I am hesitant on buying something he leans down and whispers, "Honey, it's money in the bank." So I got some pretty cool things there. Then on the way home, around 4 PM the sun came out. Hurraayyyy!!!! It was a very nice day.

Here are a few photos of the Ocean.

The first two are out the window of Tidal Raves

The whales come in this cove in the fall. It is very cool

Go check it out. I still can't figure out how to show the collection here.
Now if you follow my blog you know I am having a huge sale on my Beadwright Etsy store. Looms by Mike are 35% off there. However, if you want to purchase one from my Beadwright Artfire store I will honor the 35% off price. In fact I will go change the price now.
