PPF one eye sight

Hi Everyone!

First off, as soon as my eye returns to normal I will be around to leave comments  for the weeks I have missed. I am only suppose to be on the PC a few minutes at a time and only twice a day.  I have a patch on my eye while typing this.  I did draw and paint this week, again with one eye. Very difficult and sooooo strange.
Here is my drawing this week. This is a model from a magazine. I don't know her name.

And here is my painting. 16x20" gallery canvas, acrylic paints

I am linking to Paint Party Friday. Thanks Eva and Kristen for hosting the party.

Hi Everyone,

Yesterday I had a painting pour idea in my head. So I tried it. I love this way it turned out. If you look around brown is not a color that gets much attention as a focal color. I love all shades of brown, from the dark rich brown to the light creamy brown. Pours are so easy to bring color to attention.

These are not quite finished but the browns are amazing.

PPF Lost but not forgotten

Hi Everyone!
Don't ask me where I have been the last three weeks for Paint Party Friday. I have been been beyond busy with work, art, and life.  With my hands feeling better I have been creating more with beads and trying to get things I couldn't do before done.
I know this won't last so I am going full force for now.
I am also still getting leather wall pieces done for my exhibit in March.

So here are a few of the things
I am working on.

 These are leather flowers

Cellini beaded necklace

I got new handmade socks by my dear friend Dagi from Germany

Leather frame with glass painting and it has been sold.

WIP flatwork beading for a framed piece.

PPF

Hi Everyone!

It has been a fast and furious week. Just way too much going on and trying to rest my foot at the same time. Hmmmm doesn't really work. LOL I had a wonderful interaction with Monica from Nature Footstep  we started chatting about the balloon art and leather. We both prepared some leather then balloon painted it. Mine turned out more abstract, which is what I am and from that I am making leather flowers to go into a leather flower bouquet.
The balloon painted leather

Flower from the first leather photo
other art this week is beading
27" Cellini Necklace

Larger Cellini with a turn
I really love these colors.

This is the Black To White display at the Siuslaw Library here in Florence, OR.

It looks more dynamic in person.
The lighting is awful in the library.

I hope you enjoyed the art and I look forward to seeing yours.

PPF 1/17

Hi Everyone!

Sorry I missed all of you last week. I fractured my foot again, along with some nerve damage and Achilles tendon problem. Yes, all on the same foot. Geeess. I was refereed to a great podiatrist right here in my town. He gave me a cortisone injection that DID NOT hurt in the slightest. I have had them before in my foot and OMG it hurt. This guy has it down with no pain, so I was happy with that. I have to change my shoes to something stiffer and of course some more exercises on the foot. No medical boot so far.
I hung my Black to White paintings on the 15th and I will say they look amazing hung all in one place. I went to take photos yesterday and there was a very large group of people ohhhing and awing. Made me feel pretty good. Oh the photos? I forgot to put my memory card in my camera. So I will go over tomorrow if it is not storming like today.
I am now working on my new leather exhibit. I am pretty happy with what I am creating and feel that I will get both walls filled. Here is what I finished today.

You know me, give me a skull anytime.

This guy is 5" off the canvas.

This is a 5x5" abstract painted glass then put into a leather frame.

I love how this turned out.

Abstract leather on painted wooded frame.

Since my hands are doing better, I have done some more beading. This is Peyote stitch with increased Peyote puffs. This is something I use to do quite often.

This piece is Peyote with a twist not crocheted.

I made my own end caps since I have none. LOL

Linking all of this up with Paint Party Friday and all of the wonderful artists there.

PPF I was able to bead

Hi Everyone!

Wow! I have been so busy this week, and I have to tell you I feel alive. I haven't felt this good in years and I am taking full advantage of it.
I was even able to make my hands beads!
Tonight was bead night. I am so fortunate to know these wonderful women. We have had our bead meeting non stop for 12 years. I think that is a pretty good record. Kind of like Paint Party Friday. Thanks to Eva and Kristen for hosting and to all the artists who show art.  Ohh I got my dates for my Black To White exhibit. Jan. 15 to March 1. Uuuhhh I need to hurry up and get some pieces painted. This is what I finished this week.

Have a great weekend!

PPF My Days Are OFF

Hi Everyone!

Well, my days are off. All day today I thought it was Thursday, ya know the day we on the west coast link up to PPF.  Haaa it is Friday!  It was a busy week with my new bathroom floor put in on Monday, Art Committee meeting on Tuesday, taught a beading class on Wednesday and then Thursday slow cooked ribs for Thanksgiving dinner. Not to mention the million other things I do. LOL. I will post photos of my finished bathroom next week.

I hope all of you had a great week and thanks to Eve and Kristin for hosting Paint Party Friday.
I have been painting a black and white series. It is quite fun! Here are two pieces I finished this week.
Hope you enjoy them.

The background has great texture and the black and white blended very well. I just like how this turned out.
20x16" acrylic

This started out so differently. The background became this wonderful cracked texture and as I started to paint  all I thought of was the people in California and the fires. This is my tribute to those who have lost so much and so many.

Paint Pary Friday 11/16

Hi Everyone,

I have had a long day. Up early, which is nothing new for me, to drive into Eugene. Uhhhgggg. It is the worst drive from Florence. However, groceries do have to be bought. LOL  Finally getting home to do website work. I have a new color of Nicole's BeadBacking. Well actually it is an old color brought back. Yayyyy Lavender. It is so pretty.
I did attend my first meeting with the art committee with our library. This is going to be so much fun.
I am honored to be apart of it.
Now for some art. Not much done this week. I have decided to paint a black and white series and this is the first of I think 10.

This looks so illuminating in real life.

Needed another abstract for an upcoming show.

OK, I was just not able to get any good photos of my leather display but at least wanted to show how it was set up.
Two cases on either side of the isle.
Glass and mirrors make up the cases so for me getting a photo was not good.

Here are a few more cabs hand painted by me
These have some real nice neon green.

I love these next sets kind of psychedelically

This is autumn splash

The background is black silver shine

One person said fire another said sea weed, you pick?

Paint Party Friday 11/2

Hi Everyone!

UPDATE!
I wrote this earlier today and in the mean time I have some great news. I have been asked to join the art committee for our Library. This is a big deal and I feel honored that I was asked. Oh I said, "Yes"

Wow! I can't believe how busy I am. As of today I have my art showing in 4 different venues. I feel pretty blessed with that. Tonight hubby and I will go to The After Hours Block party at BeauxArts here in Florence. It is so much fun.
If you are in town come join in.
2285 HWY 101 in the Coastal Fitness  Plaza.

Now here are some pieces for this week.
I did some watercolor inktense pencils on her sweater.

His face just made me feel like he was a gentle man.

I wasn't trying for a self portrait of my youth, however
I see the features in this one are mine.
Especially the nose.

These two pieces are actually going to a friend of mine and her daughter who live in Eugene.

Thanks to Eva and Kristin for hosting Paint Party Friday.

A last word, don't forget to VOTE!

PPF 10/11

Hi Everyone!

I am so excited. I have another exhibit for my hanging leather art that begins on March 2, 2019. I have enough pieces to fill the wall but, I have some new designs that I want to make up.
In the mean time my exhibit that is going on now has reaped some sales. They cannot go through the library they are done privately and that is OK with the library. demARTs was a huge success and I have 5 people who would like classes from me for abstract painting. Watercolor classes are coming along and even though I really like the medium acrylics are still my favorite. Now for some art for this week. I have been doing my early morning draws and here are a few.
I haven't drawn a scull in awhile so thought it was time.

I do like how the eyes came out on this one.

The neck on this is horrible. There is a lot of tooth to this paper and every time I tried to erase it got worse.  I do like the hand though.
Who knows where I was going with this.
A 15 minute quick draw

I really love this one. Gold leaf in the waves really sets it off.
8x10" gallery canvas.

Another world is 16x20" gallery canvas. Just through some paint on and this is what came out.

Thanks to Eva and Kristin for hosting Paint Party Friday
Looking forward to seeing all of the art this week too.
