Friday Face OFF Alien or Sea Creature?

I just amaze myself. LOL I am all ready for the community wide yard sale, and for my show. Now what I create is just extra and I can't wait to show you the extra. 

Not today though. 😀

For now lets get into FFO.

This is a trial piece and I am keeping her for myself. For some reason I really like her.

I can't decide if she is alien or sea creature or maybe she is an alien that lived in the sea? You tell me.

 

I had a slew of how-to photos on my camera and while doing photo shoots for the flyer for my show the darn 

how-to photos got deleted. uurrrgggg.

This creature started with a styrofoam mannequin female head. I cut out the mouth and eyes, made the nose larger, added ears and the ridges on the head and cheeks. After all that dried I applied the skin allowed the first layer to dry and added another layer. I added the eyeballs. Then I did the 3 or 4 layers of painting. After each layer of paint it has to dry before the next layer can be applied. This is why I have several projects going at once. There is a lot of drying time with the creatures and skulls. I was going to add lips but I like her mouth the way it is. The fun thing is I can always add to this face.

Friday Face OFF 6/2/23

Welcome to Friday Face OFF

and happy June. This year is going by quickly and for me that is a good thing. This year so far has not been the best. :} For an update on my thyroid situation. My Spine doctor went over all of the images and explained them to me. If it wasn't for him I would be guessing. In the meantime my PC set me up with a biopsy. I have that done on June 16. I can hardly wait. It has taken 6 months to get to this point. I'm not feeling well. Lupus is out of control due to the thyroid, so I'm not doing too much. I still have to get ready for my show in Sept. though. I have been working on some skulls.

I still need to finish off the teeth.

Friday Face OFF 1/27/23

 Hello Everyone!

I have spent the last week trying to keep calm, get lupus under control, trying different things to reduce the numbness in my face and of course trying to get some sort of medical attention. I was able to get an appt. with my spine doctor so he can address the changes in my cervical spine. I was waiting to see if my PC would phone about my brain scan. Hmmmm Tuesday they changed my April 20th appt to today, which is Thursday. I have to say that it was a very good visit and I actually saw 2 providers. Everyone is baffled about the facial numbness. I explained all of the research I have done and spoke to a friend of mine who is an imaging tech. Get this, she has numbness on the right side of her face and it started several weeks after her last covid vax. My numbness started a few weeks after my last covid vax. I mentioned that today and she took copious notes and said she would look into it. I discovered if I take a very hot shower and take 1,200mg of  ibuprofen in the Am and the same at night it calms my face. My PA said to stay on that regime. I told her I have appts with my spine doctor, and dentist. She set up an referral for a neurologist if nothing is found from my other appts.  She did mention that possibly the syrnix on my spine may have shifted and its pushing on a nerve. At this point we are looking at all possibilities.

The good news is, all the hundreds of white spots on my brain are almost gone. Hurray for statins. The not so good new is that the 2 masses on my brain have grown. They were found on my brain in the 1990s and have been stable until now. I am suppose to report if I start falling, mix up my words and a host of other things. However, I really can't worry about those. Nothing I can do to fix them. So that's that.

 

 Now for Friday Face OFF. I tried to focus on art this week but only was able to get 2 skulls made. If you want to see the method click here
