PAINT PARTY FRIDAY JAN 27

Hi Everyone!

I know this is very early, however, today is the day that we find out what we are going to do for health care. In August 9 doctors quit our Peace Health facility leaving over 6,000 people without health care. PH has not replaced these doctors. DH got a doctor in Eugene, 100 miles away and after 2 months we received a letter, last week, that as of tomorrow they are closing their doors.  Other medical facilities have closed as well due to large corporations coming in out of Seattle and well doing what ever the hell they want. We are scrambling, like the thousands of other people who were with this doctor to find another care provider. With everything else going on in the US, leave our medical alone!!! OK that is my rant for the day. If it wasn't for art I would be a total nut case. LOL  Here is what happened in the art room this week.
Thank you for reading my rant and for all of you who are praying for us. Blessing sent right back to you.
I am linking with Paint Party Friday and a big thanks to Eva and Kristen who host our party.
If you want to see some of the best art world wide click on the link and check out all the artists who participate.

I wish I had better light or a better camera.

I like her and she has better shading than shown her.

CRETIVING TO KEEP THE STRESS DOWN.

Hi Everyone!

Thank you for the prayers for our bad situation. Here in Oregon we are loosing doctors faster than you can say "doctors" Last August 9 doctors up and quit our Peace Health medical facility, leaving  over 6,000 people without medical car. No new doctors have been hired but two PA's just out of college to help fill this huge gap. Well that doesn't work. DH got a doctor in Eugene, 100 miles away,  He has been seeing this doctor for 2 months. We received a letter yesterday that they are closing their door on Jan 27th. AYFKM? We  are calling every doctor we can to get in. DH is on specialized meds that can't be just stopped. I am waiting for a call now from a place in Eugene. They are not in our insurance hub so we will be paying cash. I am sick to my stomach at the rate of doctors closing their doors because big corporations have bought them out and have made rules and regulations that tie the hands of good doctors.  It is all about big money. OK enough of this. Here is what I drew yesterday and this morning.

PLEASE SEND PRAYERS

Hi Everyone.

I don't normally do this on my blog. However, some very bad news came in today for my DH and we are asking for prayers for this situation. We know that prayers work and accept them from all, no matter what your beliefs are. If we agree as one this will be resolved for the good.

Thank you so very much and bless you.

CREATING EVERY DAY

Hi Everyone!
Today I am showing a Day of The Dead leather sculpture. It has Swarovski hotfix embellishment.  I am working on three other leather sculpts that will take some time to finish but the leather hardened beautifully. Can't wait to get to play with them. Have a great day today.

CREATING EVERYDAY I LOVE IT

Hi Everyone!
I can't tell you how good it feels to have the artist switch turn back on in my head.  I am creating like there is no tomorrow. Well maybe I shouldn't put it that way, but it is daily and  more than one item. Right now I have 8 pieces dried and ready to finish up. I also am working on a Huichol beading piece that I have 12 hours into. For today though here is my sketch of the day. I call her, "The Crone" So much fun to draw.
Wishing all of you a very nice day.

ART AND WOMEN'S MARCH ON WA.

Hi Everyone!

Today was a full day of art. Got up early got all the chores done and headed into the art room, which is off my living room. TV turned on to the Women's March on Washington and art flowed like a river. The inspiration of the march? Just the frame of mind I am in right now? I am not sure but got 8 pieces of leather and molded bowls sculpted and drying. Then, I did a 20 minute sketch. Yes I love days like this.
If you marched in Washington or your own town, thank you from me and all of us who couldn't. I know several men and women who went to Washington. Again thank you.

My quick draw for today. This puts me so ahead of my creating every day. This is the 25th piece finished in 21 days.
I might go back and work on this a bit more. I see some wonky places. It is a quick draw though.

A day to remember

PAINT PARTY FRIDAY JAN 20

Hi Everyone!

This has been a VERY busy week for me. Extra orders for people knowing I will be closed Feb.5 through Feb 20th. Cleaning house, cooking, art, art and more art. Plus our monthly bead gathering is at 3PM today instead of our normal 5PM, so baked a batch of cookies to share.  We are going to try and keep it at the 3PM time for the winter.
It is just easier for driving in the rain. LOL

Thank you to Eva and Kristen for hosting Paint Party Friday

I am really excited to share with all of you what I have been up to. As you know I have been working leather since I was a kid. Changing techniques and playing with different styles. You also know that long before zombies and skulls were in fashion I was in love with them. This comes from my dad. Anyway, this first piece is a leather molded skull with leather and ultrasuede flowers with moss. I am happy that the mold came out just the way I wanted with the mouth able to open. I have 5 more of these drying, of course they are all a bit different. I have decorating ideas popping out of my head for them.
OK enough,  I have named her,
 "Shirley"

This is also something new that
I am experimenting with. I really like the effects

BUSY BUT TIME FOR ART

Hi Everyone!

It was a busy day and actually the time flew by. It is so wet and overcast today. We are suppose to get 2 inches of rain today. Well we have gone past that. LOL  This morning in my rush I did a quick draw.  20 minutes, so here hair is wonky.  It is  almost 5PM and I am still waiting for the post lady to pick up my mail. There is so much road work in my neighborhood that it is difficult to get around. Florence, OR is putting in new water pipes. The front of my house is where the flagman is directing traffic. Uuuhhgggg...
So here is my art for today.

A GREAT DAY OF ART-ING

Hi Everyone!

Yesterday was a full day of art-ing. Yes I said it arting. LOL  I am happy with many of the results that are taking place in my art studio. I have several leather sculptures and paintings drying. I used a different technique that I saw on TV and for me it is all loving abstract with some amazing results.  All of my artist pals that visit me here and on FB I truly want to encourage you to commit to creating and finishing something everyday. I can't tell you how much this has pulled me out of some lupus fog and anxiety. Sorry to say you do not have to share your body with disease to experience fog and anxiety. We all create whether it is a form of art, or cooking, or writing or singing. Put your whole heart and soul into it with a commitment of creating everyday and see what changes in your life.  Here are three pieces from yesterday. I love how these turned out. They are on small flat board canvas 10x8" I wanted to experiment before I go to a larger platform.  I used house hold paints and these will have frames made by my DH.
Enjoy your day

MY EVERYDAY ART

Hi Everyone!

I am creating everyday just not posting everyday. LOL I am ahead of my days too and I like that. I am working on a project that takes time. I have about 12 hours into it and it is about half finished.  Three other leather projects are drying and waiting to be painted.  For now here are the last three days of sketches. Some one mentioned during Paint Party Friday about posting only our good works. I have never been that way. Drawing is very new to me as a steady art form and I have posted some real ugly doozies. I say this because my old lady is a doozie. LOL I drew her too large on the paper and so she has a bit of giantism  and looks cartoony.  However when I was drawing her all I thought was she wants to go dancing. LOL

So here are 16, 17, and 18  pieces so far.

A bit of wash out on the photo

PAINT PARTY FRIDAY JAN 12

Hi Everyone!!

I am floored at how fast this week went by, but excited to show you what I accomplished this week. Most of you know I am creating something everyday and I am happy to say that this new found energy of creating has me ahead of the game.  I am getting two sometimes three pieces done in a day. YAY.....  A huge thank you to Eva and Kristen for hosting Paint Party Friday and to all of the artists who show their art.

Daily drawings are teaching me a wealth of art techniques.

I am very much into drawing ethnic faces.
I am learning so much by doing the light and dark.

24x18" acrylic abstract painting with two molded leather faces. This is so pretty in real life.

I have new shinny spray paints and they are AMAZING.

This is an 24x18" flat board canvas.
Acrylics and all done with a knife.

I drew this on some paper I have had for a very long time. I graphite didn't take too well due to the tooth of the paper. I will use this paper for some other type of art.  Oh and the paper is a light brown color. Hey I was just playing. LOL

This is a 12x12 frame with 3-D protruding leather face. These are really fun to make. I cut and make my own frames, prep the leather, mold the face and then dry paint it with acrylics.

I drew this boy this morning. In the photo I used for the face the boy had sky blue eyes. I just left them light.

I hope you enjoyed my art
and in some way I have inspired you.
Leave me a comment I love hearing from you.

CREATING EVERY DAY

Hi Everyone!

Thank you for all the encouragement for my endeavor to create everyday. I know it is just the beginning of the year but so far so good. Something has snapped in my brain or my spirit, it feels like I am a different person. OK..... meaning before I decided to do this I would start some piece of art and think, "Ohh I will finish this later."  Now I have this energy to create with zest and gusto and I can't wait to see how each piece will turn out.  All I want to do is ART. 😀😀  I have even started a new La Loba Espiritual project. I have not made one for many years. What is La Loba Espiritual? I draw a wolf face and then Huichol Bead it. The first one I kept for my self and you have seen it here before. Anyway I have 4 hours into the new one. For today, and this is actually day 11 and #12 of finished art. Enjoy your day and if there is anything I can say or do to get you to Create every day and post it let me know.

I drew this face on some old paper I have, I really don't like it. The paper has too much tooth so the graphite didn't blend well.  I will use that paper for something else.

This is my first La Loba Espritual. She was drawn on cotton fabric then Huichol  style beading. I make my own bees wax/pine mixture to adhere the beads hole side up. This is 26x20" it is framed and hangs in my house. There are tens of thousands of seed beads.
