THERE IS NOTHING LIKE FAMILY

Hi Everyone!
OMG!!! the sun is out and the wind is minimal. SHOCKERRRR!!!! I have been sitting on the back porch taking in some to the rays. It won't last long so I have to get it while the getting is good. LOL
In June my brother Steve and his family came to see us. Here are some of the photos he sent. Of course it was cold, raining, and windy here in June.

The beauty with the dark hair is my niece with her friend sitting on the beach in Florence.
Dune Buggy rides in Florence. Not warm at all.
My brother Steve, niece, friend, SIL.
This is taken at the Sea Lion Caves just 11 miles from my house. We were freezing.
Go inland just a bit and south to sunshine. This is the The Burl Gallery in Kerby, OR. not far from my mom's
Cool tree houses and funky buildings.
And let us not forget the swings.
This is the main gallery. The art inside is amazing.
More sunshine at Crater Lake, OR.
If you ever have the chance to go here don't miss it.
 Nice and sunny.

OHHH NEW GLASS FROM LORI

Hi Everyone!
It is early! I love this time of morning, before dawn, before people are on their way to work. A misty layer off the ocean dulls the street light and the only movement are the trees in the wind. For me a time to be alone with my thoughts.

Yesterday, was a great day for packages. One was from my good friend Lori Cook Culligan. In the box were some feathers that will go to very good use and a small white box. I was really excited to see what Lori had sent to me. All I could say when I opened the box was........OMGGGGGGGGG!!!! I can hardly wait to create with this piece. (that is if I can get it out of Mike's hands LOL) It has such depth, color, and magic. Each layer of glass fused perfectly. It feels like a place of dreams.
Thank you Lori.

Yesterday, the pharmacy ( I swear I need to take stock out in that place) and another store just to walk the isles and make sure I don't fall. Yeahhh two days of walking with minimal pain. I think I am on the mend. So today we have to go to Eugene and if I feel well enough Mike will walk me through Gem Fair. We have the wheel chair just in case. If I can walk through all we have to do today then I am in very good shape.

NEW BEADING PATTERNS

Hi Everyone!

I am feeling better n better everyday..........thank the gods and all of you who have sent healing energy to me. Now, my very good friend Lori Cook Culigan needs those prayers of healing too. She hurt her arm. Please let Lori know you are thinking of her.
I have managed to get few new beading patterns finished and uploaded to my Beadwright Bead Coop
Remember these patterns do not have to be made into jewelry. Use them for home decor' or strips to add to clothing or hand bags. There are so many uses for beaded loom and peyote pieces.
I have 140 plus patterns listed and these are just a two.
Wishing everyone a happy day.

MRI AMAZING TECHNOLOGY

 Hi Everyone!

It is pretty amazing that in a very short span of time the technology of the medical field has excelled, while care has declined. OK.... so we won't get into that right now. As most of you know I was a Vet Tech for many years before lupus. My daughter phones me for advice when there is a problem with her pets. One of her sweet dogs, Brody had knee trouble and last week had surgery.
Of course my daughter sent the MRI films to me.
MRI, as with all medical imaging techniques, is a relatively new technology with its foundations beginning during the year of 1946. Felix Bloch and Edward Purcell independently discovered the magnetic resonance phenomena during this year, and were later awarded the Nobel Prize in 1952. Up until the 1970s MRI was being used for chemical and physical analysis. Then in 1971 Raymond Damadian showed that nuclear magnetic relaxation times of tissues and tumors differed motivating scientists to use MRI to study disease. With the advent of computed tomography (using computer techniques to develop images from MRI information) in 1973 by Hounsfield, and echo-planar imaging (a rapid imaging technique) in 1977 by Mansfield, many scientists over the next 20 years developed MRI into the technology that we now know today. Perhaps one of the most exciting developments of these was the advent of superconductors. These superconductors make the strong magnetic fields used in MRIs possible. Due to all of these technologies required, the first human being MRI examination did not occur until 1977. Since then, faster computing has made the MRI process much faster. The most significant advancement in MRIs occurred in 2003, when the Nobel Prize was won by Paul C. Lauterbur and Peter Mansfield for their discoveries of using MRIs as a diagnostic tool.

Here is Brody's knee. He is doing well and healing quickly

FOREVER FRIENDS LORI COOK CULLIGAN

Hi Everyone!

There are some people that come into your life that no matter what you will always be friends. You know those friends that time and space have no reference. You are just connected by the spirit of the universe. I call these people my "Forever Friends" They are few and very far between. One of only two Forever Friends is Lori Cook Culligan, she is the owner of Outoftheflames. Lori and I met when I found her on line and saw that she lives in Spokane, WA. I was residing in Mullan, ID at the time. After emailing we arranged to meet at the mall in Spokane. I knew instantly Lori was the kind of person I could be friends with and now some 13 years later we still talk almost everyday.
Now Lori is not just a great person and friend she is an AMAZING artist. Her talents range from drawing and painting, to glass, to beading, to pattern design, to leather, to to to well you get the idea. If you know Lori stop in and say hello, if you don't know Lori stop in anyway and introduce yourself.
So this day is dedicated to my Forever Friend Lori

PROJECT RUNWAY SEASON 10 Yeahhhhhh

Hi Everyone!
Wow do I feel better today. I mean like night and day. Not 100% but getting there. Thanks for all the prayers and healing energy.

Soooo you know I am an avid Project Runway watcher. I was getting a bit frustrated when my cable (Ha Charter) was out. The video came back on but no audio. OMG not now not when Project Runway is starting. After about 30 minutes it all got fixed and I was able to watch Mondo usher in the new contestants. Love the opening in Time Square. Very cool! There is a huge range of talent with the contestants this year and I am not sure about Kooan he is out there isn't he. He is hilarious thought. Ven by far has the most skill and I think he should have won last night. However, I am glad Christopher won over Gunnar. I also like  Andrea she is awesome, Dmitry I think is going to show us some amazing garments, and Sonjia is going to strike like a quiet cat. I really like this show, can you tell????

TWO BOOK REVIEWS FROM LARK

Hi Everyone!
I thought I would do these book  reviews and try to focus on something other than pain.
Let see how it goes. LOL.

The first book is by Marthe Le Van. Marthe has put together, along with 20 designers, a book that is interesting and full of some techniques you may not be aware of. The book is all about creating jewelry with fabric. Now, my beading friends always say I love the "F" word, FABRIC! because I incorporate so much of it in my work. So I was delighted to see what how other's use the "F" word. As always Lark has produced a photo filled book that gives excellent instruction with precise detail. If you already use fabric in your jewelry making or just want to learn something new this book is the one for you. 20 projects and ideas that will allow you to create in a very different manner.

Second Book

Being in bed for the last 2 plus weeks I was so happy when Mike brought this book into me.
Thanks Ray for sending it.

This is the new Showcase 500 beaded jewelry series. IT IS FANTASTIC! I was completely thrilled to see some of my very good friends represented in this book. Ray Hemachandra has presented old and new pieces through out the book in elegance and charm. I think out of all the 500 jewelry series this just may be my favorite. Every page is filled with the inspiration and creative spirit of the artists. The photography is excellent and the jewelry perfectly placed on every page. This book captures the imagination and then allows it to flow to the next page. I do like this book very much and highly recommend it to any artists in any medium.
