DRESSING UP

Hi Everyone!

First thank all of you so much for the wonderful emails and comments for my Mya dog. It means so much to me to know I have such good friends and people who care about me.

Last night I didn't get to do my make up the way I had planned. But you would never know this was me.

Kelly and I only stayed a short time then we got a bite to eat and headed home. The owner of the restaurant wanted a photo of us with him and so of course we obliged.

Tonight I will dress up not so scary for the kids. So I do have a winner for my "costume suggestion contest". I will announce all winners tomorrow.

THANK GOODNESS FOR MY FRIENDS

Hi Everyone!

After I posted my sale this morning Mike and I had to take our beautiful Mya dog into Eugene to say good by. I am really sick of all this death around me. Mya was our loyal friend, happy in all things, brought joy and laughter to our home and protected us all her days. She is gone now and my house feels empty. When we returned from town I didn't want to go to the costume party. I didn't want to see people or put on a happy face. Mike told me I had invited people to come see me and it wouldn't be me if I didn't show up. So I put on  my costume and met with my friends. After explaining what had taken place they all rallied round and made the night full of love. Thank goodness for my friends. Here is my dear Mya dog

I feel tired today, the week has been beyond busy for me and my energy feels low. Yess I will take a nap before I go out tonight.

Hi Everyone!

Thanks for all the nice comments and the great emails! Some one did email me asking if my rings are for sale. Well..... yessssss..... I don't have any listed in my Beadwright etsy or artfire stores because the rings I have been making have been going my art galleries and stores. However, if anyone sees something they just have to have EMAIL ME :))

So today I worked on faces. I am working on 7 faces. Two are leathered and I made five others today along with this ba ba ba bling ring. The faces will set over night and tomorrow I will leather them and decorate all 7. These are larger faces and take a bit more time than the little ones.

JUST A BIT OF EYE CANDY

It has been a strange weather day here. Rain and hail this morning, a bit of sun and now it is getting ready to storm again. Hey I am not talking about some little rain fall. I am talking Oregon coast torrential rains, wind, and hail. LOL!!! The first few storms are pretty exciting though. So I have been working getting art projects preped to work on. Went to the bead store, the grocery store and then home. Now it is time to get busy. I did want to share with you a few of the latest pieces going to show. Still tying to work the bugs out of my new camera. Not sure I like it yet.

LEATHER FACES FINISHED

Hi Everyone!

You probably know by now that I have a ghoulish side to me and not just at Halloween. I love working with parts, body parts, bones, skulls, and what ever else I can get my hands on. When I lived in Idaho my artist friends and others called me Bone Woman. (Every spring I would harvest the bones left behind from hunting camps.) Hey that is better than some other things people have called me LOL!!! Anyway my drawings are of faces. Broken and crumbled faces with snakes and things coming out of the brain. OK OK so I told you I had a ghoulish side. In reality they are drawings of my migraines. I carve faces out of stone, bone, wood, and plaster. Then I decorate as I see them. These little faces are plaster covered in leather and decorated with Swarovski and feathers. The brown face is carved broken. Hope you enjoy. Ohhh and before you ask.... NO! I probably won't ever post my drawings.

MAKING GLASS BY JAMES LAIS

Hi Everyone!

Today is busy as usual. Finishing up three leather faces, a couple of rings, and then off to town to deliver some jewelry to one of my stores. Hope the weather is better today.

In the past some of your may remember me telling you about my friend James Lais. He is one of those guys that just brightens up the room when he walks in. James has been burning glass for some time now and has been featured in several art galleries in Oregon. Last evening he sent me his first  you tube glass making video. It is like watching a dancer preform. Take a look it is pretty cool.

STORMY ON THE COAST

Hi Everyone!

Boy we had a storm last night that shook the windows. Hey that is normal for the Oregon coast and actually pretty exciting. :) It has been stormy all day and that is fine, for now, it is the perfect weather to bead by. I did get a lot finished up this weekend but need to keep up the momentum. I will photos of the pieces soon but thought I would show you my front and back yards.

BEADING WEEKEND

Hi Everyone!

This weekend I do not have to go anywhere or do anything outside of my house. Wheeewwww thank the gods. I am spending every waking moment designing, creating, and producing. I was speaking to a friend on the phone last night and looked up at my shelf to see what I have for my show. OMG! not near enough for an art gallery show. So my phone will be off today, movies in the DVD player and it is time to get serious.

So what is your weekend schedule? Beading?, Playing?, Traveling? ahh come on share what you are up to.

In the mean time here is a Miss Skully necklace. OKayyyy before I go any further. I know Miss Skully is all I have been showing lately. However, I have been working on other things. For instance yesterday I made two bracelets, finished up two rings, made a chain necklace and a leather face that is still drying. So even though I would love to just work on Miss Skully pieces.... sighhhh.... I can't. BIG LOL

Hi Everyone,

Tomorrow blogger will be doing a maintenance and we will not be able to upload photos. I have been trying to do this for a week but time just slips from me. I thought I better do it now.

My fall piece is of course is a Miss Skully cuff. Since I am trying to fill 5 different galleries or stores it must seem like that is all I make these days. It really isn't. For this piece I was so happy to incorporate the Swarovski cosmic ovals. I am sorry the photo is so dull. TOO BUSY FOR MY SHIRT???

Hi Everyone!

Wowowowow it is a whirl wind in my house hold. I am sooooooooooo busy with bead stuff that I really need to stop and see where my priorities are. Yesterday I picked up another store. Hurrraaayyy they pay up front. It really amazes me at the change in selling. This is the first year in 45 that I have ever had to do consignment, even with art galleries and museums, and I really hate it! Anyway my blogging has slowed way down. I apologize to all of my followers and to those I follow. I will get to all of your blogs and comment ASAP! Today come heck or high water I will be listing some really cool items in my Beadwright Etsy store so be sure to check them out this evening. I am ready for my night out for Oct 30th. No one really got my costume so I will pull a name out of the cyber hat to see who wins the Miss Skully Cab.

Yes I will take lots of photos for you. I won't however, be wearing this costume for the kids. It is way to scary.

Well I am off to bead, take photos, do some sculpture, and somewhere in all of that go to the store.....hmmm I think Mike can do that one.

WHAT YOU WILL FIND

OK, so I posted early this morning and started getting ready to bead my way through special orders. In my house there is no guessing what the drawers, cupboards, or plastic containers hold. They shelter the billions of beads I have. Some are old trade beads, vintage from my great grandmother and grandmother, new beads, and I mean anything from Czech glass to seed beads to metal beads, to well.... you get the idea. For over 15 years I sold beads and had a great store. Two years ago I started closing that part of my Beadwright business to focus in on my art. It has taken so long to sell off this bead stock. During this time we have moved twice and so things get..... should we say lost in the shuffle??? ha ha ha. Anyway I said all of that to tell you I found more seed beads from my store.
