TAD with Rain Motion and Movement

 Greetings!

It's Thursday and that means an art date with Rain or better know as Thursday Art Date, "TAD".
The theme this week is Motion and Movement.
Now don't fall out of your chair. I actually created 2 new pieces for this. LOL I will include some older art too. giggle

This is a 14x12" gallery canvas painted with acrylics.
Moving color sounds like a good name for this.
This is a new piece also but I don't think it's finished.

This is very old. I made this clock in late 1988.
Leather covers a DVD disk. Then the clock makings and beading decorations.

I beaded this bag in 1989 when I lived in AZ.
I painted this in the 2000s  and it sold immediately.
The Painting lives here and the buyer was so happy that the colors were perfect for her wall.

I will also be linking to Paint Party Friday.

Stop by both blogs to see all the exciting art that is shown.

Wednesday Free Art Classes

 Greetings!

First I will start this off with my garden. We had a sunny day yesterday so time to get some work done. Last month when we had sunshine Mr. M. and I got my outside garden area set up. I told you I was going to do things differently to spare my back from further injury. Anyway, yesterday we cut more PVC pipe and got to work.  Yes the front piece is leaning and if needed Mr. M. will tie it off. Remember we are on complete sand. I will be able to have 9 containers on each pallet rise and with the brace bars be able to put trellis where I need it. The frame, as  you know, is to cover poly over for protection from the very high winds we have all summer long.

A few things inside the greenhouse
Squash
Peas
Lettuce
Radishes
There is lots more growing but it is overcast and rainy and I couldn't get good photos. I have 5 containers of potatoes in the GH that are doing so well that I have had to dirt up already. I also planted flowers yesterday. Who would have ever thought I would be a gardener? LOL

Now for the free art lessons. Yesterday, I gleaned this information from a comment Elizabeth left on Barbara's blog.
It's totally free and each day you will receive a lesson from a different artist. Karen, the head of the program, asks that we spread the word. This is me spreading the word.
The lessons started on March 18 but you have full access to videos once you sign up. Today is landscape and perspective.

I am off to make something warm for breakfast. Hhmm like oatmeal with raisins and cinnamon. Sounds good to me.
Have a great day everyone!

T Stands for Tooooo Busy

 Greetings!

Whoa I have had a mega busy morning putting me behind in posting for T Tuesday. I am also behind in commenting and will try my hardest to get caught up by tonight.
The last 2 days I have spent part of my time trying to schedule an appt. for our second covid vax. I finally just now got it done. It's a mess here, but at least we are on the list. So like I wrote, today is meeting up with the T-Gang over at Elizabeth and Bleubeard. My art time has been eaten up with family phone calls, daily chores, and I don't know what else. It just seems like my days fly by. I did start this last night.
So on my easel. Not sure where I am going with this, and the colors may change as I work on it.
Mr. M. wanted lemon cookies so he got them. What's better than cookies and milk?
Well, I guess a lot of things but late night Mr. M. loves this.
I have been wanting to show all of you a set that I got a few weeks ago from Amazon. I know that some of you out there, like me, have a hard time opening jars, and other containers. Awhile back Elizabeth showed one of those gadgets to open jars. She told me later she got it off Amazon. Also, I have been telling Mr. M. for several months now that I needed one of these. So off to Amazon I go. There are many to select from and the prices are VERY reasonable.
I got the whole deal for $9.00
There is just the large jar opener for $5.00
The other 2 gadgets open smaller bottles, the flip top on cans, and even grabs the seal under caps to pull back. I love these! Oh this also came with a wham zoomer cork skew that went in the "thing drawer" yeah, don't laugh everone has one. My mom use to call it her "junk drawer".
These all hang on my wall for easy access. Thanks Elizabeth.

Well that is it for me. Be sure to visit everyone over at

Movie Monday

 Greetings!

Today is Movie Monday and this weekend I watched some interesting movies along with some older movies that still touch me. However, the movie that stuck with me is called "Bliss" with Selma Hayek, Owen Wilson and Nesta Cooper.
This is a sci-fi movie filled with some altered worlds. At first I thought it was just about a man who lives in his art filled mind. Then, he meets Selma, who shows him what is real. The main thing I took from this movie is, love and making the right choices.
I watched this on Prime
Here is the trailer.

I also watched a movie that I have always like called "Shy People" with Barbara Hershey, Jill Clayburgh, Martha Plimpton. Also Don Swayze and Mare Winningham. It was released in 1987.
A story about a New York writer and her daughter looking to find and write a story about family. The family lives in the bayous of Louisiana.
I first saw this movie back in  1987 and fell in love with Barbara Hershey's part. You can watch this on Tubi or click on the link below to watch the entire movie.

Enjoy you Monday

TAD with Rain Diagonal

 Greetings!

Today is Mr. M's 66th birthday. Yes, he is younger than I am. At this age who cares but when we were young people always made comment about it. Heyyy, who doesn't like a younger guy right? Ha ha ha
Today is also TAD with Rain. Her theme is, "Diagonal"
Kind of my thing. My brain lives on a slant. LOL
Here is some new and old art.
Be sure to stop by Rain's to see all the other artists.

Movie Monday

Greetings!

It's movie Monday here and boy did I watch/listen to some good ones this weekend. Every time I thought one would be good for today, I watched another that was just as good. So I am gong to share one of the movies that stuck hit home.
"Still Alice" with a great cast of actors.
Julianne Moore, Kirsten Stewart, Kate Boswoth
and Alec Balwin.
This movie tells a compelling story of
Alzheimer's disease. It was released in 2014.
Still Alice (2014) - IMDb
Dr. Alice Howland (Julianne Moore) is a renowned linguistics professor at Columbia University. When words begin to escape her and she starts becoming lost on her daily jogs, Alice must come face-to-face with a devastating diagnosis: early-onset Alzheimer's disease. As the once-vibrant woman struggles to hang on to her sense of self for as long as possible, Alice's three grown children must watch helplessly as their mother disappears more and more with each passing day.
The movie is done very well and tells a real story.
Here is the first 10 minutes of the movie.
You can watch it free on Tubi.

Have a great Monday

Paint Party Friday 3/12

Greetings!

This is Paint Party Friday. It has been a whirl wind of a week for me. I can't seem to stop. I go go go all day long and then have to drink some sleepytime tea to calm myself to sleep. This has been going on since my covid vaccine last Saturday. Like I said I love this energy but I get so busy I don't get any art done.
However, today I created this in layers.
Drying after each coat of paint.
So in between time I was doing other things.

This painting is NOT a pour! I used acrylic paint for the top coat in black and white. Then I took old printer ink and brushed, dabbed, dripped and sprayed until I got the desired effect.
I have a name for this piece but I am sure it will offend people so I will leave it with no name for this post
Click on photo to see larger.  Blogger is not playing nice with my photo uploads today.

Please stop by Paint Party Friday to see what all the artists have created this week.

T Stands for Short Post

 Greetings!

Today is T-Tuesday over at Elizabeth and Bleubeard's. So stop by there to see what the T-gang are up to.
It has turned cold and with the rain it is bone chilling. So what is better than hot coco to warm the insides?
Mr. M. and I watched movies last night wrapped up in our handmade blankets made by my niece a few years ago.
She made mine in Native style with red backing.
 It is so warm.
For art I have a piece that has been on my easel for over a week. I am hoping to work in it today along with some commission pieces. I think it is off to a good start. I have limited my pallet to student colors.
Red, Black, Yellow Ocra and white.
We will see how it turns out.

That's it for me today. Wishing all of you a great day.

Movie Monday and a bit of garden.

Greetings!

Good Monday everyone. Today is Movie Monday and I have a good one for you. Anyway, I thought it was good. "The Fanatic" is a 2019 American psychological horror-thriller film directed and co-written by Fred Durst. It stars John Travolta as an autistic man obsessed with meeting his favorite actor
(Devon Sawa)
I watched it on Prime.
Here is the trailer
I hope you check it out. It is NOT scary.

So you all know I am hooked on gardening and Mr. M. got me a greenhouse. I don't know how I grew so much in our crappy weather last year without one. It has been raining and the wind is howling but in my greenhouse I have radishes coming up along with lettuce. The peas have grown 6" and herbs and other plants are taking hold. I also planted 5 buckets of potatoes today.

One of 6 pots of peas

Radishes
Lettuce just starting
Herbs

Oh and tonight was pizza night.

PS. I also wanted to mention that today I still have SOOOO much energy from the covid  vaccine. Anyway that is the only thing I can contribute the mass energy too. It's the only thing different in my life. I will take it!

Have a nice Monday

Covid Vaccine and art

Greetings!

Well today was the big day. Mr. M. and I received our first covid vaccine. We were given the Pfizer. I will tell you that it was painless. Before I knew it the girl was putting the band aid on my arm.  However, as fast as that was it took us 43 minutes to fill out paperwork and then to go through the line. It was a cattle call. The event itself is very organized but WAYYYYY too many people in one place. When we got home I sanitized EVERYTHING, took another shower and washed out clothes. We go back in 21 days for the second dose. Mr. M. came home and took a nap. He is still sleeping. Me? I am wired to the max. I love that. giggle
We will see how I feel tomorrow
This morning before the vaccine I got 5 containers planted with potatoes. We are in a 10 day rain and of course wind storm so they are in the greenhouse.
I also managed to draw this AM and afternoon. The boy's face, I just like.

Side by side I see the differences but that's OK. I feel good about this one.

Hope all of you are having a great weekend.
