My Art Every Day Makes Me Happy

Hi Everyone!

Since I started My Art Everyday something has changed in my out look and attitude. It is all good.  Part of why I wanted to do this is because where I live, Florence, Oregon, has some of the most depressing weather ever. It is not just me who feels this. It is constantly dark, overcast, raining, and lets us not forget the constant cold wind. Sunny days are few even in summer. So to help with this SAD I started creating everyday no matter what.  It has helped with my happy zone and the fact that I can see my improvements. Now I am still a novice at drawing and I still have a lot to learn, but I am happy with this #115 finished pieces of art in 115 days.

INTRODUCING Janée N. Burkhalter, Ph.D

Hi Everyone!

I recently met a truly extraordinary woman. I knew this right off when seeing her art. She had ordered some leather from me and then sent a photo of what she created. Her art is very earthy, ethnic and powerful.  So in her own words I introduce to you 

Janée N. Burkhalter, Ph.D

Marketer. Educator. Scholar. Strategist. Artist.

In a nutshell, RANDOM.

I spend most of my time working as a marketing professor -- teaching about different types of marketing and researching about entertainment and social media. I also volunteer at a new church, helping with their marketing and strategic planning.

I love to travel, listen to music and watch TV. 

Not only because it makes me better at my job, but also because they inspire me.

When I need a totally different outlet, I create wearable art.

The name of my line is GIFTALENT and is part of the company I have with my family, BAJCA LLC. The name GIFTALENT comes from my favorite quote: "Your talent is God's gift to you. What 

you do with it is your gift back to God." - Leo Buscaglia 

From bracelets to clutch bags,

 I find joy in each handmade treasure I design and hope my customers find the same.

Whether I am teaching, writing, volunteering or creating I always pray that, big or small, my work is in some way a blessing.

PAINT PARTY FRIDAY 4/20

I can not believe that it is Paint Party Friday again. My week went by so fast. Some ups and downs this week but I did manage to finish my Art Everyday. A big thanks to Eva and Kristen for hosting. 
So last weeks art I forgot to count three pieces of art. I told you it was an up and down week. With this weeks art

PAINT PARTY FRIDAY GOOD NEWS

Hi Everyone!

I am getting this out very early because I will be gone to my bead meeting tonight. The week has been so busy for me but the best news is that my MRI is benign!!!! You don't know the relief. Or maybe some of you do. So why did I go for an MRI? I have lost the sense of smell. Well not completely. I smell and taste wrong now. It is the strangest thing. I have been trough all the tests and probes. The one that upset me most was the smell test. You sniff 40 different smells and mark the option you think it is. When my Dr told me I only got 10 out of 40 right... I questioned her, "You mean I got 10 wrong out of 40?"  NOPE I only got 10 correct. Anyway life is such an adventure and now I get the joy of smelling things that aren't there. The problem is that when people go through this the odors are never pleasant.  At least we are laughing about it.  OK enough of that but I do want to thank all of you for the prayers, well wishes, healing energy, love and light that was sent to me.

Now for art.

Hi Everyone!

I am off early today to have coffee/breakfast with my very good friend. It is always a joy and I think a must for girls/ladies/women to get together. Girl friends are important and here in Florence I have some of the best. Do you have a girl friend? Someone you laugh with and make fun with?

ART EVERYDAY 100 YAY

Hi Everyone!

I am so proud to say that this is  100 pieces of finished art in 100 days. Seriously, if you are even thinking of creating everyday, DO IT!!! It opens doors to your creative mind, and it is so much easier than you think. I am a very busy person. I have an in-home on-line business, I teach classes, I create to sell and I have a husband that is disabled, plus my own health issues. If I can do it you can do it.  This is a great example I only had 20 minutes this morning. It is enough time to draw or sketch. Now if you say, "well I know how to draw" I am just learning to draw so it takes me longer than say someone who has gone to art school. 

No matter what your art medium is I encourage you to create everyday.

PAINT PARTY FRIDAY ART n LIFE

Hi Everyone!

It has been a heck of a week.  So the bad stuff first and out of the way. If you have been with me for awhile  you know I share my body with lupus and I take care of it myself, (no lupus meds for me) With that I do need a doctor to help with the results of lupus. For me that is brain and spine tumors. The first two were found about 18 years ago, flat and not very big, slow growing and nothing to worry about. Over the years those have grown have mass and a third one joined in. Then two or three years ago my annual brain MRI revealed a head full of spots. It is pretty spectacular to see all of them. (not in a good way) Nothing "they" can do but my doctor did put me on a statin to keep plaque at a lower level. OK..... so this doesn't get too long and boring, I go in tomorrow for a brain MRI to make sure I don't have an Intracranial skull base tumor. Sooo I am asking what ever your prayer system is to please say one for me.

I had a really busy week with new items in my Beadwright Etsy shop, creating art, getting orders out and spending time with friends.  All fun things for me.  Leave a comment and let me know what you did this week.

Now for the art. I am still creating my Art Everyday and proud to say that I am 96 for 96.  It is so much easier than I thought it would be.

ART EVERYDAY NO MATTER WHAT

Hi Everyone!

This is my Art Everyday. I am committed to create everyday even if that day does not bring the best news. Sigghhhhhhhh. It is just one more issue with my health. I can't tell you how flippen  tired I am of health issues.  OH well, that is life and life carries on weather you are involved with it or not. So one might as well just get on with it right?  Last night I sat down to draw and this is what came out.  This makes 95 pieces of art in 95 days.

Since I am going to be gone most of the day tomorrow with the doctor, and DH has no idea how to make a blog post. I am showing my Art Everyday for day #94.  I normally draw from photographs but this one is from my head. I need to do that more. I feel like she has a happy secrete.

  Now I am off to watch the last episode of The Walking Dead...... AGAIN. LOL
