LAST DAY 29 FACES

Hi Everyone!

This is the last day for 29 Faces. I have enjoyed myself and have learned so much by participating in this challenge.  Thanks to Martha of Ayala art for hosting and thanks to all of you who have stopped by my blog to leave comments of encouragement. It means a lot to me.
Mike was teasing me that I draw all thin or skinny faces so here he is.
He is  El hombre rechoncho, Chubby man.

29 Faces Day 27

Hi Everyone!

Tough week with my health but finally got some answers yesterday after my CT scan. I am on two mega doses of antibiotics. One of them NO ALCOHOL.  Of course no drinking, but no alcohol in things like my hand sanitizer,  mouth wash, deodorant. Well my mouth wash doesn't contain alcohol so I can still have a fresh mouth. LOL  Anyway 10 days of this and hopefully I will be back to my normal. Thank you to everyone that is praying for me.

Now for 29 Faces. It is coming to a fast close, I have had so much fun and learned a lot by doing this challenge. Thanks to Martha of Ayala Art.
Wishing everyone a wonderful weekend.

PAINT PARTY FRIDAY AND 29 FACES

Hi Everyone!

Happy Paint Party Friday. This is where artists from around the world get together to share what they have been creating. It is not always easy to put your art out for the entire world to see. I love visiting each and everyone of these artists, they have talent that comes from the soul and no matter what level we are on we do have something to say in our art. So if you have stopped by here leave a comment then click on  The  link to see the other art for this week.
A  huge thanks to Eva and Kristen for hosting the best Party.
I am also posting this to another fun and busy challenge. 29 Faces hosted by Martha of Ayala Art. Each day you must create a  new face for the month of Feb. I am so proud of myself that I have made some sort of face everyday.  As I said before they may not all be good but I stayed up to pace.  Check out all the fab faces here

Now for the art. I have had to stay in bed most of the day. Going through some medical issues that, well have me down. I go in tomorrow morning for yet another CT scan. So if you have an extra prayer or some healing energy please send it my way.
Being in bed all day I had extra time to draw. When I take my time I can create a bit better. I love this guy. My daughter said he reflects my pain and situation. LOL
Thank you for stopping by I appreciate every comment.

Here he is normal. LOL

Here he is in fish eye focus and black and white.

29 FACES DAY 24

Hi Everyone!

I am so unhappy with this face today. As I mentioned yesterday I had a doctors appointment. OMG!!!! It was quite the exam, no details needed LOL. After that I  had to give blood. I am waiting for a CT scan appointment and then an internal cheek to cheek prob. So to say the least I was not myself when I drew last night. After several attempts to create something, anything, with lots of erasing I just put this on paper and added some color. I keep telling myself, "At least I got something done for 29 Faces."  YaY.  Thanks to Ayala Art for hosting. Please stop by to see what the other fabulous artists have created.

29 FACES DAY 23

Hi Everyone!

This week is full of doctors appointments for me and DH. I am an early morning person so for me I like my appointments as early as possible. For DH he likes his in the afternoon so you can see how this takes up the entire day. LOL The face today is how I feel about going to the doctor. After looking at what I drew last night this "sorta" looks like me. I have one eye that drops down LOL
Thanks to Ayala Art for hosting 29 Faces. If you want to see some truly excellent art click on the link and check out the other artists who have joined in.

29 Faces Day 21

Hi Everyone!

Last evening I was all ready to draw for 29 Faces. My beautiful daughter phoned and it is always so much fun talking to her. ( We live on opposite coasts so we talk every day on the phone.) After that conversation two more phone calls came. So by the time I was with my pencil and paper the idea of what I wanted to draw was long gone. I am not quite sure what this person or face is.  Tonight I am turning my phone off. LOL  Just 8 days left for 29 Faces.

Ohh I see there is quite a shadow on this. Need to find a better place to take photos in the morning.

29 Faces Day 20

Hi Everyone,

I still can't believe that I have actually created a face every day for 29 Faces. Like I have said before, I wasn't sure I could keep up the pace. However, I have set time aside every evening and look forward to that, kind of, settling down time. Now I mentioned yesterday this week has been a bit stressful. Haaaa do ya think this guy feels a bit stressed too? LOL
Thanks to Ayala Art (Martha) for hosting 29 Faces. If you would like to see some truly amazing face art head over to see the other artists. They are fabulous!!!

PAINT PARTY FRIDAY 29 FACES FEB. 19

Hi Everyone!

This week has been hectic with a good amount of stress. Trying to keep everything under control and meditating. So not much art has been created with the exception of  quick-draw faces.  I do however have a piece I finished a few weeks ago. I had posted it in Dec. as a WIP and well I guess it is finished.

Here is the WIP. I didn't realize how dark the photo is.
Here is the finished piece, or at least so far.

29 Faces Day18

Hi Everyone!

Well yesterday was a hectic day and by the time I even remembered to create a face for today it was late. This face literally was sketched out in about 5 minutes and then hair and color laid in. She is a bit long in the jaw but I did make the challenge.
Hope today is a bit less stressful. Wishing all of you a very nice day. Thanks to Ayala Art for hosting 29 Faces.

29 FACES DAY 15

Hi Everyone!
15 days into 29 Faces Challenge.  I was thinking last night that now that I am in the habit of drawing a face every evening I will continue after this challenge. I may not show them but it has proven to be a great exercise for me. Today's face is a memory of my truly wonderful Sister, who passed in 09. I didn't plan it but I had been thinking of her all yesterday. So when I finished this last night I was surprised to see how much this looks like her when she was little.
As always thanking Ayala Art for hosting 29 Faces.

29 FACES DAY 15

Hi Everyone!

I love the 3 day weekends. It allows me to get "extra" things accomplished. I keep the PC off most of the day and just go for it. Do you have today off from work? If so what extra things do you try to get done? Or do you just play?
This is day 15 in the 29 Faces challenge. So far I have been able to post a new face every day. Thank you to Ayala Art for hosting this fun event.
Wishing everyone a very happy day.

29 FACES DAY 14

Hi Everyone!

Happy Valentine's Day to all of you. I know I probably should have created something for the day but I didn't. LOL I did sleep in this morning and DH brought me coffee in bed. I love that. So here is my face for Day 14 of 29 Faces. I have no reasoning for this face. A few years ago I did a series of faces similar to this with more detail, but this is what came out for today. Wishing every one a happy day. A big thanks to Ayala Art for hosting 29 Faces.

29 FACES DAY 12

Hi Everyone!
This exercise of creating a face every day  has proven to be more fun than I thought it would be and a great learning time for me. I want to thank Ayala Art (Martha) for hosting 29 Faces. I also want to thank all the artist for encouraging comments and inspiration from their art. This is a wonderful journey.
Today my sketch is one I like. Once the pencil hit the paper this little one came to be.
I have been looking at "hair" instruction. LOL

29 FACES PAINT PARTY FRIDAY

Hi Everyone,

Here it is day 11 for 29 Faces. I have finished my leather sculpt and thought this would be a good place to show it. First a thank you to Ayala Art for hosting 29 faces. In addition I am linking up with Eva and Kristen for Paint Party Friday. Thank you ladies.  Who would ever have thought that a thing called the internet would bring so many talented people together. Sooo here are the  photos. First if you missed how to make the bubbles on canvas click on here.

Molded leather on 16x20" gallery canvas. Acrylic airbrush paints, marbled gold leaf, bubble textured.
Just a note there is nothing behind the face. The 3-D leather stands on it's own.

Close up of bubble texture

29 Faces Day 10

Hi Everyone!

I have been very busy so this is a quick 10 minute sketch. I do set a timer and go for it. This exercise teaches me a lot on how to construct. There are a lot of mistakes but each 10 minute sketch shows me what not to do when I have time to draw.

29 FACES DAY 8

Hi Everyone!

I think it is going to be one of those Mondays. Ya know, more things to do than you have time for.  So I will make a list and get one thing at a time accomplished.  Day 8 of 29 Faces and I am still in the game. LOL Here is one I tried of a man. Not sure how I feel about this. I could not get his mouth right.
Big thinks to Ayala Art for hosting 29 Faces and to all the artists who participate. Have a wonderful day.

29 FACES DAY 7

Hi Everyone!

Sunday and I slept in. Something I don't do very often. Last night I started watching a Netflix series called "Revenge". Ohhhh what a great show. Lots of twists and turns. So while I was watching that I sketched this.
I mentioned awhile back in a PPF post that I was going to learn how to draw hair this winter. Well this hair didn't turn out well, it is a learning process though. Big thanks to Ayala Art for hosting 29 Faces

29 Faces Day 6

Hi Everyone!

Welcome to day 6 of 29 Faces.  This experience has been perfect for me. I thought it might be a bit stressful getting a NEW face out everyday.  With out counting, I have about 60 faces that hang in my house. Most of them beaded, leather and gourd sculpts. So I thought if I got in a pinch I could show one of those. However, I am finding that the commitment to this is very exciting and I look forward everyday to creating for 29 Faces. Even if it is a 10 minute draw. Thanks to Ayala Art for making this possible.  I can't wait to see what every one has created today.

29 FACES DAY 5

Hi Everyone!

Well I have made it to day 5 of the 29 Faces challenge. I am really excited that this is easier than I thought it would be. Now my faces may not be sophisticated or even realistic, but I am having fun and enjoying all of the other artists that have joined in. Be sure to check them out and leave a comment.
This is another face on a canvas, where I used the acrylic paints leftover on my pallet.
Geee she seems so sad. Maybe she wanted a neck and shoulders. LOL

PPF HOW TO MAKE 3-D BUBBLES

Hi Everyone!

Tonight I am linking up with Paint Party Friday, hosted by the wonderful Eva and Kristen.  I have a WIP that I will share.  This is how I make the bubbles on my canvas for my leather sculpts.  When this is finished I will link it up to 29 faces.

1st sculpt the face. This is a different type of leather than I normally use so I am not sure how it will hold up under airbrushing.

The paint is a water based house paint that I let set for weeks to evaporate as much water as possible. I stir it everyday. It becomes thick and icky. LOL

I paint a canvas in any old abstract way with acrylics for a base and let it dry.
Then I paint on the house paint and let this dry 24 to 48 hours.

Next step I take my heat gun and rotate my movements over the canvas. Be careful not to actually burn the paint and canvas.
Out side is a good place to do this. If you try it PLEASE be careful.

Depending on how thick the house paint is determines  how big the bubbles are.

Allow this to set without touching it. LOL Next step is to paint this with an airbrush.
I will try to get this finished tomorrow.
Happy Paint Party Friday

29 Faces Day 4

Hi Everyone!
Good morning. I am very excited to be a part of 29 Faces. As I mentioned before I didn't think I had time to join in. I guess I forgot how to make time for "fun" or for "me".   I am ALWAYS working, or caring for, or keeping myself well, that I forget to take time out. As silly as it may sound 29 Faces has given me a better out look on time for me. Thanks Ayala Art (Martha) for hosting 29 Faces and allowing me to see a new path.  What little things in your life turned out to be huge realizations?

Here is a sketch I did in the car yesterday while we ran errands. Well I didn't run because I broke my foot again. I had to sit in the car. LOL I am still learning how to sketch hair.

29 FACES DAY 3

Hi Everyone!

This is day 3 of the 29 Faces challenge. I have to admit that I didn't think I would have time to do this every day, however, it is working out better than I thought. Huge thanks to Ayala Art for hosting this fun challenge. Be sure to click the link to see who else is creating faces everyday.  Today I have a "quick paint". Took an older painted canvas with just the background, and what ever acrylics are on my pallet created this face. Hmmm not sure if it a male or female. You tell me.
Have a great day filled with creativity.

29 FACES YEAR 4 DAY 2

Hi Everyone!
This is day 2 of 29 Faces hosted by the very talented Ayala. I wasn't sure if I could do this. If I had the time to be committed to a daily challenge. I know it is only day 2, but this is giving me some discipline. Ya know for creating every day.  I have gone to the link to see what the other artists have created. It is so inspiring. Be sure to visit the blog.
Sooooo as busy as I was yesterday I did this little sketch in about 10 minutes........
So it is not perfect but reveals a strong message.
