REOPENING MY BEADWRIGHT ETSY STORE

Hi Everyone!

My days are getting better..... well not really.... just keeping busy so I don't think too much. Part of being busy is getting my Beadwright store and website up. The site will be up and running by Jan. 1, 2015 but I think today I will reopen my Beadwright Etsy store. I am announcing that I will only be taking credit cards, debit cards, gift cards, personal and business checks and US postal money orders through my Beadwright Etsy store. Just a few of the changes I am making for 2015.

I don't actually make New Years resolution, I do reflect on the previous year and wonder how I could make the next year better. For me being more tolerant with family members and not being so hard on myself. That sounds good for now.

Going through boxes of photos my mom had,  I found this one of me with my babies.I was 20 years.
It is an old Polaroid

And 42 years later is my Granddaughter and her baby girl.
Born this year.

It 's a beautiful circle isn't it?

Hello Everyone!

Well yesterday was full of tears and on the phone ALLLLLLL day. As a lot of families mine is scattered all over the country. Thank goodness for unlimited talk and text. LOL
I did make turkey dinner yesterday and ate way too much. Trying to find my humor. That is what my mom would want. She laughed every day and made me laugh too.
Why is it that the day after Christmas

 I feel like this.
When I would really like to be doing this
Actually in my mind I see me doing this

All images taken from Google search.

Wishing all of you a great day!

I AM HOME

Hi Everyone!

It has been a long month for me but I am finally home. It feels strange and I am still a bit off center but with time and keeping busy I will get back in the swing of things. I will be taking care of mom's house and other things from here. My nephew is staying at mom's house until we sell it. Hey anyone want to buy a house in OR? LOL
So today I am thank you all of you again for the warmth and caring emails, comments and cyber hugs.
From Mike and I we wish you all the very nicest Christmas and the best ever 2015.

JUST A NOTE

Hi Everyone!

Just a note to say thank you again for all the kindness shown to me and my family with the passing of my mom. Closing one's life is a heart sick ordeal, especially when it is your mom. I am keeping strong with the help of my brother who is here with me. Packing up the little things of her life tears at me and then I cry. She was my best friend, my everyday world, and she will be in my heart for ever.
If you can hug your mom today.

MIRACLE OF A MOTHER'S LOVE

Hi Everyone!

Ohhhh thank you, thank you, thank you. I can not tell you how comforting all of your comments and emails are this morning. For my long time readers you know how close my mom and I were. So as horrible as it was yesterday I am honored to have been able to make sure my mom's wishes were carried out. Mom knew my brothers and I were there. We all made sure she heard our loving words and just before her last few breaths, with the strength of a mother's love she said, "I love you"  Very shortly after that she was on the other side dancing with my brother and sister.  I am not quite sure how to conduct my life right now. 9 AM was the first phone call of the day between mom and I and I am wondering how that is really going to effect me when I return home.
I tell my friends this a lot, having lost so many family members in the last 5 years, to be sure to tell the people around that you love them, how they matter in your life. It is important.  So to all my cyber friends near and far and to those who I see in real time. Thank you for your thoughtful and loving concern for me and my family. Thank you for the humor, and sharing, and the joy of knowing you. Our world has changed so much to this screen and key board before me, but with out it I would not have the pleasure to meet and on a limited basis know all of you. I send my love to all of you!

END OF LIFE

Hi Everyone!

I am sorry I have not been able to keep you updated on my mom or to answer your wonderful emails. Several days ago my mom took a turn for the worse. It has been an emotional....hhhmmmm let's be honest here, It has been the worst week of my life. My brothers are here now and today we are ending mom's life. Meaning we are taking her off of life support. Those words seem so unreal to me.
I have whispered in mom's ear of all the lovely things you have written to us. The words of encouragement, the prayers, the funny get well cards that mom likes so much. Thank you to every one for just being here for me and my mom. This will be the worse day.

My mom loves this painting.

I will write soon

UDATE ON MOM THANK YOU

Hi Everyone!

I can't get to my FB on mom's PC so I am glad my blog posts are linked there.
First I am overwhelmed at the emails, comments, and posts for my mom. Thank you from the top and the bottom of my heart. All of the prayers and healing energy is working so far.

Mom went directly into surgery from the ER. I spoke to the surgeon before and after the surgery. There is a wonderful team of people at the Three Rivers Hospital in Grants Pass, OR.
The surgery went well. Mom had significant infection and fluids in her stomach from a ruptured bowel. The lining of the bowel was dead due to lack of blood flow at one time.  Dr. Frost, the surgeon, a wonderful lady, took her time and expertise to take care of all the problems. Because of mom's terrible lungs she was on a respirator but was taken off yesterday. When I saw mom I was so happy that she actually looked pretty good. Ya  know for being drugged up and 4 IV's coming out of her arm. I was actually able to speak to mom on the phone last night for just a few minutes. We are not out of the woods yet but she is doing better than any one thought she would. Again thank you so much for all the warmth and love sent our way.

BEYOND THRILLING ART

Hi Everyone!

Hope your weekend is exactly what you want it to be. I have a few things planned today including cleaning. You know I clean all the time but I hate clutter so the pantry is getting a work over today. LOL
So put all that aside I discovered a great video this morning. It is an OMG moment. Looks just like regular paper sculpture right? Haaa watch the video you will be astonished.

This first video click on the little cog to settings for English. It will give you subtitles.

This video shows an even better example of just how much movement is in a sculpt. It is only a minute or so long. You will NOT want to miss this.

I would love to see this in real time or actually I would love to own one of these sculpts.

A GREAT PLACE TO EAT IN EUGENE OREGON

Hi Everyone!

A few weeks ago Mike and I had to go to town. Ya know Eugene, Oregon because Florence simply sucks for shopping. Anyway we don't usually eat out when we go to town but this day we decided to try a place in the River Valley Mall. It is upstairs away from the food court. The place is open with a very nice atmosphere. It is so open that you can watch the cooks preparing the food. Mike turned to me and said, " I just watched the cook make my burger patty" I could hear it sizzling on the grill, I said, "Yes I can hear it." Mike says, "No I watched her form the patty it is not a premade frozen piece of meat" When our food arrived it was beautifully prepared. The we learned that all the meats and produce are organic, grass fed and grown in Oregon. All the breads and  pies are made from scratch including the burger buns. I had a veggie sandwich that was perfect. You would think that with everything so fresh and hand made the prices would be sky high. NOT AT ALL in fact less expensive that other places. I was so pleased with the experience I asked for some business cards to pass out. If you live in or are going to Eugene, Oregon stop in at the Valley River Mall and head upstairs to the Terrace Cafe. You will be so glad you did.

CHRISTMASS STOCKING

Hi Everyone!

You know I am a huge supporter of supporting others. When I find something or someone that I think others would be interested in I try to get the word out. Yesterday I met a very nice lady who lives not to far from me in Myrtle Point, OR. Her web site is perfect for this time of year.
It is The Holiday Stocking Co.! How perfect is that? We all know how busy this time of year is and making those stockings can get a way from us. Why not have them made by Charlene Faulkner? You can add any personal touch that you like and the price is so reasonable.
She even has them for Hanukkah.

But that is not all! She has jewelry pieces and fine art by  Richard Faulkner. His art is just stunning!

Stop by to say hello to Charlene. You can also reach her at these sites.

PAINT PARTY FRIDAY NOV 14

Hi Everyone!

Happy Paint Party Friday. Thanks to Eva and Kristen we have a party every week. Come join us by stopping in to see what artists from all over the world are creating. Or maybe you have some art you would like to share. Either way it is so mush fun and the
artists are some of the nicest people you will meet.
So the last few weeks I have been MIA with my blog but I have been busy in the art studio. First I needed some warmer/winter curtains. I had some old floor length insulated curtains that were white. No that won't for for me especially for the art studio. So on a sunny day I took the curtains out to the yard. Grabed a box of old craft acrylics and just had fun.
I loved painting these curtains and they are perfect in the studio.

I have several other paintings and some leather work finished but it has been so dark from the stormy weather I can't get good photos. So next week.
Have a great weekend!

I'M STILL HERE LOL

Hi Everyone!!

I know it has been a few weeks since I blogged. I have been busy getting our home winterized and just in the nick of time. It has turned cold, windy and rainy. After such a beautiful summer here in Florence I guess it is time for our normal weather. LOL
Yesterday we had to go to town. Ya know Eugene, for some shopping and for a special item I must wear  now when I go out. lupus... reallyyyy can you just leave me alone. LOL (That is said in my sarcastic voice LOL)  So all summer I have been feeling pretty good with the exception of lupus rash from the sun. The one thing I crave, sun, and now I can't go out in it unless I have a covering over my face. Sooooooo I have found some pretty nice ones online but wanted to see and feel them. I was lucky to find a 50+ FPS covering that is a tube of fabric that goes over your head. It looks like a scarf, then all I have to do is pull up the edge and cover my face. It is pretty comfortable too.
I am looking for one that has a skeleton on it. LOL I think that would be pretty cool. I've seen them just want one that has a bit of color.

Other than that life is good and looking forward to 2015.
Wow when you were a kid did you ever say to yourself. "hmmm wonder what I will be doing in 2015?" Ha bet not. Have a great day!

PHOTOGRAPHY FOR PAINT PARTY FRIDAY

Hi Everyone!

Happy Paint Party Friday! I do not have anything new to show right now,  but I do have a piece that Mike made this week. Mike takes great photos and has an in house digital photo studio and developer. A few weeks ago on  our way to Eugene we stopped at the Mapleton post office. While I was inside Mike was taking photos of  a rose. Later when he developed and printed it off, I told him this one needs to be framed. So he made a frame and here is how it came out. The photo is exquisite with a pretty cool detail.

So pretty
 A little closer please
 Cllooooossseeerrrr
Is this the coolest spider?  I love the dew drops too.

Now for something you should all know. I posted this on my blog the other day and if you want to see the complete post click here. I just thought it was worth posting for PPF

I made these with Midnight Black Nicole's BeadBacking. As I was pulling out my Halloween decorations I thought I would share this pattern and how to make them with you.

ART STOLEN SOLD ON WALMART SITE

Hi Everyone!

Most of you know that I have had articles and other copyrighted items stolen from magazine editors and other artists. Dose it anger me? Beyond what you could imagine. For many years I have asked Etsy to please set in place a "no right click" on photos that are displayed by sellers. To date they have refused to accommodate sellers. I am not the only one asking for this. So when I read this article and saw the video I had to share with all of you. The person from Canada who has stolen art work to make a profit from it should be shot. Yes I said shot! It amazes me when people from other countries tell me that copyright doesn't pertain to them because they don't live in the US. That is so far from the truth. Anyway before I go on a tangent please take a few minutes to watch this video. If you are a seller on Etsy, Ebay, Dwanda, Artfire or any other on line site that doesn't support "no right click". Then WRITE to them and ask for it!

LYNN LINDLEY SHIBORI ART

Hi Everyone!

It has been a long week for me. Today I am resting. But before I do I wanted to post some incredible Shibori beading created by my good friend Lynn Lindley. If you follow me you  know that Lynn is an award winning artist. Just looking at her art and you know why.

Along with her years of painting Lynn also took up beading. Her art background lends to some amazing color choices and attention to detail and finished work. Lately Lynn had been struck by the shimmering colors of Shibori ribbon. Here are a few pieces.

So with all that Lynn does in her life she took time to photograph step by step how she creates her amazing pieces. She also wrote in some instructions.
This generous lady sent them to me to post here for you.
Now how nice is this? Please stop by Lynn's blog to leave a comment of thanks and then head over to her web site to see some of her paintings and to learn more about her. She will inspire you no matter what art form you work in.

I DODGED THE SURGERY BULLET SO LET'S PPF!!!

Hi Everyone!

Yaaayyyyy I dodged the eye surgery bullet, for now anyway. I will do some eye meds and other therapies for the next month. Hopefully that will take care of this. I am so excited because the suregery just looks awful. I am one of those people that would rather have a root canal than go to the eye doctor.  I do have an excellent opthomologist, he is  a very cool guy, and hmmm pretty easy on the eyes too. Ha ha no pun intended. LOL Soooo since I have missed several weeks of Paint Party Friday I thought this would be a good celebration. Ohhh speaking of celebrations Mike and I are 33 years together.
OMG!!!! 33 years  went by so fast.  I have lots to be happy and thankful for.
So.... I have a few paintings that I did over the last few weeks. Some I had started and set aside.
You know sometimes that is just needed for a piece.

Here is the one that I set aside about a month ago and finished up the other day. This actually started out with a washed background then applying some yellow paint. As the paint was going on I instantly saw the face. The face looks familiar to me. Like maybe a real person or another image. I promise this just came from my head and through my hands.

I love the way the paint crackled.

Missing my beloved red I did this two canvas abstract that now hangs in my dinning area.

And last in line for tonight is this 18x18" abstract. I wish I could get a better photo of it so you can see the depth of colors in this piece. Looks like flowing lava.

Wishing all of you a great weekend and a huge thanks to Kristen and Eva for hosting Paint Party Friday.
Be sure to visit all of the artist who participate. You will see some amazing art.

PROCEDURE ON MY EYE EEEEKKKKKK!!!!!!

Hi Everyone!
Yesterday I made some comfort food for myself. Yuummm all wheat and wheat bran,  muffins. I love these hearty, healthy muffins. No sugar, but sweet enough from molasses and  raisins.
Why do I need some comfort food?

Oh if anyone wants this recipe leave a comment with your email I will send it off to you.

Remember when my eyelid just spontaneously started to bleed?

Well a hard lump was found in the eyelid.  I am sorry to say it has grown. Soooo tomorrow I get to have an injection in my eyelid. (that gives me the creeps just thinking about it) then the cut and removal of what ever that is. I am hoping it is just a simple easy thing and nothing too serious.
I have trouble with that eye as it is.

So because I am somewhat clean obsessive (A LOT) I am going to rearrange my art room. I have almost everything else cleaned and ready for fall. I made curtains for a few rooms, and put down a new area rug. The heaters are cleaned and ready to go as well. So the art room needs a good de-cluttering and tables moved for optimal lighten this winter.

Wish me luck tomorrow. I really dislike going to the eye doctor. I would rather have a root canal. Seriously if I had secret information and you wanted it..... all you would have to do is come close to my eyes and I would spill it all. LOL!!!!

Have a very nice Tuesday!

OK I DID AS REQUESTED

Hi Everyone!

It has been just over a year that I started painting full time. Ya know no beading so painting became my new passion. I don't have the confidence that I did with my bead art but the painting gives me so many new and wonderful paths to take. I always incorporated painted backgrounds with leather work and I painted as a child with my Nan, so it wasn't completely foreign to me. Just the thought that some one would buy my paintings scared me. Well with my some of my paintings in the Reedsport art gallery and some buyers that came by my house my confidence level has risen. So I have taken the step that so many have suggested I do and list some of my paintings in my Beadwright Etsy store.  We will just have to see how this all plays out. I am offering free US shipping on my art work as well.
So if nothing else please stop by my Beadwright Etsy store and take a look.
I also want to thank all of you who have encouraged and helped me along this new artistic path.

No  you don't get my old Chinese vase. LOL Just the painting.

Some leather work is listed as well.

Have a great Sunday!

IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD

Hi Everyone!

Today I am making curtains for a few rooms in my house. I just need some heavier curtains for this winter.  I am almost done with fall cleaning and getting things read for winter. What do you do around your house to prepare for the winter months?
These little girls are getting ready for winter too. Coming down to the neighborhood to eat plants. With the lack of rain and the deforestation that is going on here it is harder for the wild life to get what they need. Last week we had a bear in our yard. Now there are lots of bear here but they don't usually come into town.
Anyway mom and her babies.

Have a great weekend!
