DONATE FOR A HALLOWEEN GIFT

Hi Everyone!

This is my favorite day of the year. There is nothing I don't like about it. I am ready with a pumpkin bucket of candy for the kids, I have my costume all ready to wear and the outside of the house is decorated.
So we are ready.
For the all the people back east who will not be able to celebrate anything for a long while I have sent a donation the theAmerican Red Cross. If you can send anything at all please do. It will make this day so much nicer for everyone including you.

THE EAST

Hi Everyone!

I moan and groan and complain about where I live. That the wind never stops blowing and it rains and is dark overcast 11 months out of the year. But this week how can I complain when my family and friends are living back east and fighting the storm of the century?
I have candles burning and prayers on the smoke for all of you.

WINTER HAWK PATTERN

Hi Everyone!

Happy Sunday to all of you. Today I want to share with you a new pattern that is pretty dear to my heart. Mike got this shot a few years ago. I have always love this photo. So I thought I would make it into a pattern. I am hoping to be able to loom this up some time this winter. In the mean time you can purchase it in my Beadwright Etsy Store. It is a large project 5x6 but I think it will be worth the beading.

Don't worry the water marks are not in the pattern LOL

PUSH JEWELRY BOOK REVIEW

Hi Everyone!

I know I am busy when there is no time to blog. So how about a book review?

I have to give it to Lark. The Push series of art books are the most inspirational books on the market. I am impressed with these books and the artists that are chosen to create for them.  This particular book is Push Jewelry. 30 artists are chosen for their ingenuity and their ability to "push" beyond the boundaries of everyday jewelry. Unusual materials are combined with some of the standard norms that will amaze you. The different types of fabrications are extraordinary and the thought process behind the jewelry is apparent. Every page embraces a revelation. Arthur Hash is the curator behind the Push Jewelry masterpiece. He has and eye for the bold and unique and shares it with us.

THE EYE OF THE PHOTOGRAPHER

Hi Everyone!

This has been an extremely busy week for me. It feels good to know
I got it all accomplished with no body ailments. yeahhhh..... :)
My friend Lori (Cook) Culligan has been very busy as well. Just one of the things she has done is open a new etsy shop with her husband. But let us step back a bit. As long as I have known Lori, 15 plus years, she has been an artist extraordinaire. She beads, makes glass, draws and paints, leather work, sews, has a green thumb like you wouldn't believe, and she is a photographer. Now anyone can snap a shot. That is pretty much what I do "snaps the shot" Lori on the other hand has the eye of a photographer. She sees things with depth and color and sharpness that only a true photo artists possess. Lori's husband has that eye as well and together they have started Twisted Trails NW.  Lori explains it much better than I do so stop by her blog and see what she is up to. I am so impressed with her and her husbands photos. The store is just getting started so be sure to go back often to check out what they are doing. Photos are art that is affordable and beautiful. Photos make the best gifts and they are an unexpected surprise.
Christmas is coming soon!

THE WALKING DEAD RETURNS

Hi Everyone!

If you are a Dead Head, no no no I don't mean the "Grateful Dead" I am talking about "The Walking Dead"!!! Season 3 premiers tonight! AMC at 9 PM. I have the first two series and just can't get enough of the story or the characters. Norman Reedus AKA Daryl Dixen, is my hero. Tough guy with a warm heart he hates to show.

I love to that the women are finally getting stronger. I think we should watch Melissa McBride AKA Carol
I also hope these two Daryl and Carol finally hook up. LOL

A few new stars this season too The Governor is David Morrissey Ohhh yeaahhh.

and Dania Gurira AKA Michonne, has a short intro at the end of season 2. She is going to prove to be not only beautiful but tough and ready to fight

So today I am beading with season two playing on my TV and at 9 PM I will be watching season 3 of
The Walking Dead. I am so easy to please, beads and zombies LOL

REAL SKULLS BONES AND DRAGONS

Hi Everyone!

Ok Ok so maybe they aren't really dragons but I can dream can't I? On our "off coast" trip in Oregon we stopped at the Thomas Condon Paleontology Center. A wonderful place to see all kinds of bones. And yes I was dreaming of dragons. LOL The museum is small but contains a wealth of information. There is an observation window to watch how the bones are preserved.  The museum is very dark with a yellow cast lighting so photos didn't come out as great as I had hoped but you will get the feeling of it all.
Enjoy the bones and have a great weekend

HAIR

Hi Everyone!

Not long ago I was looking at old photos of my great grandma Sadi and my grandma Dorothy. They had the most beautiful hair. The one good thing they passed down. LOL I tried to find a photo of me of my full hair but only found this dark one and one of my daughter.
Wishing everyone a happy day

PUSH PRINT REVIEW LOVING ART

Hi Everyone!

I love art! It has been apart of my life through the generations of my family. I am fortunate to have had great grandparents, grandparents and parents who have been artists and writers and creators and innovators in several fields of art. I have mentioned before I had a paint brush in my hands before a spoon. Even though my view of art may differ from some of my family we all "see" the work, the emotion, and the depth of the art. We know the heart of artists who put their visions out for the world to witness, to comment on and to judge. I love art. I see art every where. I feel art in my veins and get excited about it. It is this excitement that moved me when I received this remarkable book from Lark. The Push Print series take a group of 31 artists to create the most contemporary pieces and to PUSH the boundaries of their field, then take it a step further in printmaking. Jamie and Keith Berger are the Cranky Pressman and state that printmaking is not for wimps. This is evident on every page.
The art in this book will stir you, make you think, make you laugh, give you pause and just maybe take you to a different place in your own art thought process. I can not put this book down and either will you.
Lark has surpassed their excellence on this one.

OREGON DESERT MORE PHOTOS

Hi Everyone!

Here are a few more photos of our trip. We had a great time in Burns, OR. going off into the desert and seeing some sights of an old sod house/ranch and the Malheur wildlife refuge. Had a little Mule deer eating out of my hands. Lots of birds there great place for birders. Need to size down those photos but here are a few that are ready to view.
Enjoy and have a great day everyone.

I was so happy to get these shots

Water was low every where.

It was very hazy with all the fires burning in the surrounding areas.
