Hi Everyone!
And one of my favorites, Tostada.
This was so darn good, made with my homemade refried beans. You can get the recipe here This was too much food and I could not finish it, but it was so darn good. Oh I already said that. LOL
There is no art to share. The pain in my foot is extreme and as I have mentioned before hard to concentrate. However, I have been preforming my own wound care thanks to an old beading customer of mine. She recommended putting organic caster oil on a sterile felt pad at night to heal the wound and Calendula cream as the healing process begins during the day. I had to order everything off Amazon because our Rite Aid pharmacy got a 2 day notice to close. You don't want me to go into that. I did have some calendula gel on hand and started with that right away. The wound has gone down in size by half. I am also doing my own physical therapy, refashioned the show I was given after surgery so I can have support under my foot, my own aqua therapy, and ordered an NMES machine for massage and blood flow.
So for something to drink. It's all about hot cocoa for me these days. Mr. M. makes a cup for me every morning and with the colder days it hits the spot. This photo was taken from google.
Even though I am not a true chocolate lover I thought this was fitting. I'd rather have Skittles. LOL
Have a great day today.
Nicole

...I have an open egg sandwich on sourdough bread for breakfast.
Yesterday I made myself a sandwich with an egg and bacon omelette, yummy! Glad Mr M is looking after you so well, that's great. Hope you will soon notice that it is getting better. Sorry that your health service so bad is there, I got very good treatment here after each operation, and still do. Happy T Day, Nicole. Hugs, Valerie
Love the organic food you prepared.
Glad the good healing advice from your old beading customer is helping your foot heal quicker! May the pain go away soon too.
I am sorry you are having such a difficult time. Good for you taking things into your own hands. People these days are entirely too reliant on the medical field. They do not have our best interest in mind. I can say that as I am a nurse.
Your meals look delicious!
I hope you experience relief from the pain soon so you can have some fun creating.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
I bet you are glad you canned so much for, but it sounds like your hubby is an excellent chef. If he can cook, he sounds like a winner to me. :) And I'd take chocolate over skittles, but whatever tickles your taste buds when you don't feel well, go for it. Take care, and I hope your foot continues to improve. Happy T day and Thanksgiving too. hugs-erika
SO glad that you are being fed properly! It may not be enough to cure everything, but it's so essential.
Good luck with a good recovery and freedom from pain.
best, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Glad you are eating and drinking well. Sending you healing hugs.
I'm so sorry to hear about the pain in your foot—sending healing vibes your way. It's impressive that you're handling your own wound care, and that Tostada looks absolutely delicious! Homemade refried beans must have added a special touch. Wishing you comfort and a speedy recovery!
Happy T Tuesday!
My husband makes him self egg sandwich every so often.
Coffee is on.
Oh, Nicole.
Friday I have an app at the doc due to my numb feet. This is nothing compared to what youu go through (but I have a bit of an idea...).
Nice you at least get (too mich ;-)...) yum food!
"No help from the medical field." sounds sadly kinda familiar.
I think (!!!) I saw "Skittles" here, also! Now, I´m not into sweets but we have something German like this, too.
To Yum and have a happy T-Day, take care (well you clearly do!)
I wish you all the best for your foot-ache. It´s terrible when you feel the pain permanantly.
The dishes are nice ...and therefore Happy T-day
All the best
Violetta

Healing prayer going up for your foot.
I need a Mr. M to look after me (grin). At least you are eating well, even if you are still in pain. Glad the swelling has gone down and it's nice a former client was helpful in getting the products you needed. It's sad the medical community is in such a difficult time right now. Seems they can't pay people enough to stay. I think you have taken the PT into your own hands and are doing quite well. Time, and pain management, will tell.
I love hot chocolate, too. Mr. M knows how to keep you hydrated at least. That tostada looks like something I might eat, too. Sorry, Nicole, I'll take chocolate over Skittles any day, but to each their own.
Thanks for sharing your meals, your pain management, and your hot chocolate with us for T this Tuesday, dear friend.
Glad your hubs is feeding you up and taking care of you and that you are taking care of your poor foot. Hope you feel better soon Happy T Day! Elle xx
I hope you are definitely on the mend! your cooking looks pretty fab -- an art in my opinion! Happy Thanksgiving ;)
I am so glad you have gotten your own therapy and wound healing going that is working! We often have to be our own advocates. You are eating well, too. I hope this trend keeps going and you are all well soon!! :)
The food looks delicious. I'm glad to hear you have a care plan and equipment to support it. I trust you'll continue seeing improvement.
Hot chocolate is just the thing :) Happy T Tuesday!
I'm glad you're finding a home remedy to help with the healing process. I pray you continue to have good success. The cartoon at the end made me smile. I love chocolate but honestly, I don't eat it like I used to. :) Blessings to you, dear Nicole!
Nicole i've been out of the loop for awhile.. How did you hurt your foot??? I've been hearing lots of good things about Castor Oil. Let me know how it works for you once you get a holdof it.. Happy T day! Hugs! deb
The Tostada looks deliciuous and so does the open egg sandwich - dill rye sounds wonderful to me. I'm glad that your husband makes such good food for you.
I'm very sorry about the pain your foot. It really consumes all the energy, doesn't it? Calendula is very good for healing - I used it when my daughter was still in diapers. I hope your healing will speed up, Nicole, and the pain will lessen considerably. I hope despite all this that you will have a happy Thanksgiving.
The tostada sure looks good! Get your Mr M. to cook some chestnuts for you to try :-)
I have to go back and read to know what happened to your foot. Hope you're feeling better.
Glad you are on the mend 'ever so slowly' but well and being fed so well ~ all looks delicious! ~
Thanks for taking the time to visit with your lovely comments ~ sending lots of distant reiki energy hugs to heal well ~
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,

I must say, your food looks really yummy. You are lucky to have someone to cook nice hings for you. But I'm so sorry that you are having so much pain.
The TENS machine I am familiar with and it works for most people. I've not used calendula cream but in my work as a hospice nurse, we used (unripe) papaya to put into wounds.
You can't beat a good mug of chocolate.
Happy T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Boa tarde e uma excelente quarta-feira Nicole, espero que esteja bem de saúde. Essas refeições são maravilhosas. Oscar Niemeyer foi um dos maiores arquitetas do Brasil, talvez do mundo.
Hmmm! The new normal indeed - mine involves me injecting insulin in my stomach every morning - I'm getting into a routine slowly! Good to know that your treatment is working! Cocoa must help;-) We love fried egg sandwiches.....and chocolate....and M&Ms. Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
wow your hubby is very caring no doubt dear Nichole
this is amazing he is cooking for you on regular bases wow that is so sweet of him
food looks great indeed
cocoa drink sounds working for you better
best wishes!
Hot cocoa sounds good! You'd think they'd give them longer than two days, especially for people with prescriptions. That sandwich looks great. Happy Thanksgiving, Nicole!
