Tuesday Treasures

Hi Everyone!

Like a lot of families, mine is spread out all over the country. My son lives in Florida with his family and my daughter and her husband live in VA. Of course I live in Oregon. The rest of my family is all over the map, from AK, to Texas, to WA, to MT to CA. I so wish my kids and grand kids lived closer. I miss them all the time but today I miss them more. I think the idea of not being able to fly over to see them. So, these are my treasures for Tuesday.

OMG! Me and Mr M. around 1983. He always seemed to have his hand on my butt in photos. LOL

Me and my son, Troy. Some time in the early 1990s

My daughter, April and me a few years ago in OR. We were having a great conversation with the waitress.

Me and April. This is how OR. beaches are most of the time. Cold and windy.

April and Troy at the beach in NC. So much warmer.

Troy and April her in OR with me 2 years ago.

April with her husband Dax. Couldn't ask for a better SIL.

April last Oct. What a beauty.

A terrible photo of my son but this is my granddaughter, grandson, son and grandson.

My son and great granddaughter.

My oldest grandson. Did 6 years in US Air Force.

My granddaughter has been in the US Air Force since she was 18.

And this is my great granddaughter. This is her personality. She is bilingual. One morning I greeted her with, "Hola me amor",  She replied, " Gramdma, I just can't hola right now" She was 3. The entire room busted out laughing.

My great granddaughter making tamales just last week. Yeahhhh I miss my family.

This is an older photo of when my grand daughter came home from her first deployment. She had been gone a year.

My son, grandson and DIL. This was last fall, my grandson's signing into the US Air Force. He was suppose to go into basic training after graduation. Not sure what will happen now.

Well that is just a small part of my family. Do you live close to your family?
Do you get to see them very often?
Let me know in your comment.

Be safe my friends and Elbow Hugs.
I am so glad that people are sharing my Elbow Hugs.

Bread n Cookies

Hi Everyone!

Well in few minutes Mr. M. and I are off to the grocery store. uhhhhggg. The first hour of opening is for seniors. Hmmmm does the store know that 90% of my town is retired seniors? LOL Yesterday, I baked. My house smelled so good and the goodies turned out sooo yummy. I make my bread by hand not with a machine. This went with our Italian dinner. Then, lemon cookies for desert. Wishing everyone a good day filled with a bit of laughter, art, and love.

I make this with half white and whole wheat flour.

Just out of the oven. I make them extra lemony.

It's Sunday March 29,2020

Hi Everyone!

I feel like I have been busy but in reality I have been lazy. This staying at home stuff has changed my routine. I was wondering what I could even blog about. I am tired of hearing about the worlds situation and just needed some sort of break. So today I have bread rising in a warm place. Mr. M. wants cookies, I think something light, like lemon cookies. I also decided to paint. I am going to try something different. I have painted faces before, kind of fun, goofy faces. Portraits I have not tried before. I pulled down my folders of graphite portraits and as I found one I liked tossed it to the floor. When I looked down I thought what a great photo. As I inspected the art, that I did over about 4 years, my thought was I drew hair better back then than I do now. LOL  Anyway here is the shot I took and the beginning of my portrait. Not sure how long this will take or even what style I will attempt. You all know how much I love abstract. It's a mystery. LOL
Have a great day, be safe, and of course elbow hugs.

These are just a few from my folders

Just getting started. Wish me luck

Paint Party Friday March 26

Hi Everyone!

Here it is Paint Party Friday. Surprisingly, I  have some art this week. LOL I also want to thank all of my wonderful readers, some of you have been following me since my beginning. August 27, 2008 for this blog. I actually started my first blog with yahoo in 1994 or somewhere around there. OMG! that is a long time. LOL. As you know I have been trying to learn how to draw hair. I am not sure why it is so difficult for me. I will say that this one is better. 😊
One mistake I only had PC paper so blending is not as good,
but I was concentration on the hair.

I also did some small abstract pieces that are going to NC. Yay!!!
For me working on abstract takes me off to another place. Mr. M can come into the art room and say something to me, but if I am working on abstract he has to say my name a few times. I am completely absorbed in another space and time.

Both of these are 12x12" gallery stretch canvas in acrylics. Both sold to the same person.

I am linking to PPF with the beautiful Eva and Kristen. Come by to see what the other
artists have created, or join in.

Be safe and elbow hugs

Wednesday March 25

Hi Everyone!

I didn't post yesterday due to my eye, that has still not been repaired, and a migraine. Wow what a day! My eye has settled down and the pain is gone. I will find out where my energy is for art today. With that I looked back at old art and thought I would post a few of those.  These start from the 1990's to early 2000's.

Two pieces of beaded gourd art. Both sold 1990's

Gourd creature. Real teeth from my dentist. Yes he purchased this.

Two pieces of acrylic paintings both sold.

Be safe out there.
