Hi Everyone!
I am not sure how to show a second on second with out rewriting and updating it.
So this is Alvin. I created him in Oct. 19, 2011. So he works for
Elizabeth's Second on second.
Elizabeth's Second on second.
I don't think I have showed Alvin on Paint Party Friday before so I will like up with Eva and Kristen with this as well.
He started like this a clean, painted, and carved gourd top.
He got eyes
and then a clay face. I forgot how much I liked this face.
However, before he was quite dry I picked him up and he flew out of my hands.
Alvin went to pieces.
So he has been sitting on my work shelf all this time waiting for a new face. He got one yesterday. I used a different type of clay so even if I drop him again he won't crack up. LOL
Alvin in his new face. He has ears and a hat. He is not exactly like his old self but when I get done with him he will be a happy guy.
I really liked the first face better especially the eyes.

What a great idea, putting clay on Alvin. What kind of clay did you use?? I have some gourds outside that I've been wanting to do something with and you've give me ideas.:) Let me know please. It's a great job and I can hardly wait to see him complete. Nice job.
LOL!!! oh!! how cute!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi Alvin! Nice to meet you!
The "new" Alvin looks very contrite for having jumped out of your hands! I think he learned his lesson--he looks great!
LOL-- Alvin looks like a "crack Up"--sorry couldn't help myself--LOL..The New Alvin Looks very well like he is on his way to being a "happy guy"
How cool! I love it!
Alvin looks just great Nicole!
Ohhhh! Poor Alvin, he cracked me up! But yay to Alvin! I cannot decide which of his faces I like better, they´re both wonderful!
I only once made a boot. Only one. Have a nice weekend and probably not try if Alvin makes it through another incident ;-)
I'd never heard of Alvin before, but it's too bad he flew out of your hands. However, you have fixed him well. I look forward to seeing how you progress with him, and I am amazed you created him out of a gourde. That is unreal! Hope your Friday is the best day of the week so far.
*wow* How you did that is great, the first head is a shame about him but the second head looks good too .. the eyes are different!
Greetings Elke
He is wonderful!!!
Alvin is fun! He looks different now, but still handsome! happy PPF, Valerie
Very cool art this time, Nicole.
Happy PPF and a good start of July xx
When I read your post title and saw the gourd with holes, I thought you were heading for Alvin, the Chipmunk! But I see this is your own personal Alvin. He does look a bit different, it’s probably because he’s older. He’s not as smooth-faced. Makes sense! I love this piece, especially the clueless expression!
Amazing Nicole, thanks for showing his creation steps.
Wow, it's stunning!
what interesting faces! Good for you to give your first guy a complete makeover -lol. Happy PPF!
I do like Alvin, he's great.
I do like Alvin, he's great!
He seems to have aged gracefully with this new look and he sure is happy to be back.
Oh My! Hello Alvin!! Chrisxx
I'm glad you gave him a new face! The old face was excellent, but this one is charming too.
Alvin is so much fun! Love him! :)
So creative of you. To start with a gourd and then add clay, I don't think I would have ever thought of doing that. Your face has wonderful character. I know someone who looks a bit like him.
Oh wow, it's wonderful! :)
I am glad Alvin got a new face :)
I wasn't present in here, so... 😏 This is a brand new information! 😜
Looks unusual but cool! 👍🏻
