Living with lupus sucks!

For those of you who don't know, I share my body with lupus. I have been doing pretty well until a few days ago. You know after the construction crew blew up the shop vac in my house. The stress, in combination of all the toxic dirt that bombarded my house has set me into a bad flare. Stress is VERY BAD for any one who lives with an auto immune dis-ease. So what is an auto immune dis-ease? They come in different names and symptoms but it all comes down to, we all have an immune system the protects us from infections and di-ease. However, if you have an auto immune dis-ease then your system can't tell the good from the bad and attacks itself. The diagnosis can take years because the symptoms are so many and can mask other problems. Plus each person with the same dis-ease has different symptoms and ailments. Here are some of the symptoms for lupus. Swelling and damage to the joints, skin, kidneys, heart, lungs, blood vessels, and brain “butterfly” rash across the nose and cheeks, rashes on other parts of the body,
painful and swollen joints, muscle pain, sensitivity to the sun. There are two types of lupus, Discoid, which effects the skin. Then there is Systemic that can effect any internal organ. Often times more than one. For me, I have both. I have to take precautions for my skin especially in the sun and then my brain, spine, central nervous system and my kidneys are affected. So there are times I can't walk or talk or even think. Right now I am going into one of those types of flares. The kind that puts me in bed for awhile. So if you don't hear from me in the next few weeks that is why. I am healing myself through strong herbs, and holistic medicine, lots of love from family and friends, jokes and laughter and the knowledge that when this flare is over I will have all of you to greet me.
Living with lupus really does suck!!!! LOL Keep on smiling and taking it one day at a time.
Talk to all of you very soon.

Be the 500th Buyer

I am taking a break from mega cleaning my house. Yesterday we had new windows put into our house. Hmmmmm the workers, if you can call them that, blew up shop vac in my living room. The house instantly filled with mounds of dirty dirt. I am sure this shop vac had never been emptied.... ooohhhh until now in my house. Thank the stars we had our computers, TVs and other electronics covered. A huge fan was brought in to suck out the heavy dirt particles, however, for hours after the fan was shut off there was a mist of dust in the air. I immediately put on a mask grabbed my dog and got out of the house. Soooo I started at 7:15 Am and this is my first break. 10:00 AM. I decided to check my etsy store and realized that I am two sales short of a 500 sale mark. Since I am not having fun today I thought I would make it a fun day for someone else. Be my 500th buyer today and you will receive my Galaxy Necklace Beading Kit FREEEEEEEE. Hurry don't let this pass you up. Plus everything is already on sale in my etsy store. The 500 does not have to be exact.

Time in a Day

I know my posts have been sparse the last few weeks. In truth I am extremely bead busy and there just doesn't seem to be enough time in the day. My bead art is the most fun and the most time consuming. I am working on several large and detailed projects right now. Computer time just gets away from me so I have been staying off of it! Then of course, there are the everyday things like cleaning and cooking and even eating. LOL! So what do you do to manage your time? Let me know.
Hope your day is a happy one

A DAY LATE

It has been busy in my studio so this is a day late. I am a rock collector. You know, like Lucille Ball in the movie "Long Long Long Trailer. " I do incorporate a lot of rocks in my art, however, I have boxes and boxes and boxes of rocks that I have collected over the years. Yesterday while looking for a rock for a project I am currently working on I pulled out this perfect heart rock. I was so pleased to actually "re" discover it on Valentines day. This rock came from a shore of the Clark Fork River in Montana. Hope everyone had a loving and happy Valentine's day.

FEELING GOOD FRIDAY

Last Friday I posted a "Feeling Good Friday" a week after my oral surgery. It seems to be a theme with me now. My surgery is slowly healing and I am able to eat and speak better. It is early morning, I have my first cup of coffee, and I am feeling like there are great possibilities. You know, those days that feel like all is well within your small portion of the Universe. I have been absorbed in my art all week and this IS so much of my Feeling Good Friday. Where there is hope there is light and my hope is that all who read this post will find what makes you happy and fill yourself with it. Find the goodness in this day and share it.

OK is it just me???

I truly try to do the right thing in my life and how I treat others. One thing that really irrks me is what sellers and businesses are charging for shipping. I make it a point to charge exactly what it costs me in shipping charges and packing. I do not make money on shipping charges and I do have to drive to the post office to mail my items. (I do not add charges for that) I just think it is wrong to make money on shipping. The other day I placed an order with a company and was charged $5.00 for shipping. At that price and for what the item was I certainly expected Priority mail. Nooooo. My order that weighed 5 oz was sent first class and cost $1.62, there was no packaging. Now that really upsets me and I will not reorder from this company again. OK so is it just me? Let me know how you feel about this?

Yeah I Won an Award

The one thing I do like about blogging is all the fun things that people have come up with. Awards are one of them. I guess I should make a spot for all of my awards. However, I am happy to accept the Marie Antoinette Award from an extraordinary artists, "Swapna". Her paintings are amazing and represent her surroundings of India. How I would love to go there. Thank you Swapna for this lovely award, and for the art that you create. You can see Swapna's art on her blog and you can purchase her paintings in her Artfire Store.
It seems that no one really knows what this award is for. So if anyone out there knows or knows who started it please leave a comment about it.
Now for the rules of this award. The rules are as follows...
1. Please put the logo on your blog.
2. Place a link to the person from whom you received the award.
3. Nominate at least 7 or more blogs.
4. Put links of those blogs on your blog.
5. Leave a message on their blogs to tell them.
Seems pretty easy to me!
My choices were made because each of these women are strong of spirit and heart and are some of the finest artists I know. May Marie Antoinette's strength and courage be with them always.
5. Elbit
