Hi Everyone!
It's a slow day around here. I checked on the garden and trimmed a few cucumber plants. I am amazed at all the bees that are in my garden. First time in years that I have seen so many.
With all the hard work the bees have been doing I am sad to say the rats got to some of my squashes. EERRRGGGGG. I have never had this happen before either.
I did some research on it and if they don't eat into the squash they leave little tells.
Here is the first one on a grey squash.
I'm going to put my cameras up tonight to see how the little bastards are traveling.
I haven't seen any sign of rats so this really surprised me.
For those of you who don't know the Oregon coast is full of rats. With several different types.
OK for a better part of the post, here are a few meals we have eaten lately.
One morning was sauteed onions and (good) squash from the garden. Add eggs to scramble and the seasonings you like. I added fresh dried dill, from the garden, on top.
Yes, we eat cod at least once a week. It is fresh from the docks. The brussles and potatoes are from my garden. Last night was pork sirloin, red garnet sweet potatoes and baked beans.
Not feeling like cooking tonight, I made tomato and avocado sandwiches on toast.Mr. M. has been doing so well I baked one of his favorite cookies. Peanut butter. The kind that melts in your mouth.

Glad Mr M is doing well.
All your meals look delicious!
Beautiful garden produce. I love peanut butter cookies too. Haven’t had them in years!
Great to hear Mr. M feels good. Another good news is the huge number of bees in your garden. Those marvelous creatures facilitate the reproduction of a vast number of plants by transferring pollen between flowers.
I would like to taste your cookies 🍪
Have a nice Sunday ☀️
Nature always seems to offer a little balance, even on the slow days
Una pena que tuvieras que tirarlos, dichos roedores. Yo soy muy de calabaza y calabacín, así que tus platos me parecen deliciosos. De verdad que tienes suerte de poder cultivar tus verduras. Un abrazo y feliz domingo
It’s great to learn that you have so many bees. Generally, of late, I hear the opposite.
I am so glad that Mr M is doing well.
I have never heard of rats getting in a garden. (I guess that is a problem we don't have here.)
It is good that some of your squash was still untouched.
You know, I never thought of cod as being a west coast fish. ANd now that seems silly.
Too bad about the rats, but your food looks amazing. Especially those peanut butter cookies. Last time I made some I tried a new recipe and they smelled great but tasted like cardboard. Happy rest of your weekend. hugs-Erika

I am sorry that your squash are being spoiled by rats 😔
This is painful for a gardener no doubt.how nice you have traps around them now 👍🤗
Hope everything stays smooth and grows nicely 🙏🥰
Your dishes look tempting and I bet they taste heavenly 🥹🥰♥️
More blessings to you and yours my dear friend ♥️♥️♥️
What a wonderful photo of that bee! Good news on Mr. M -- I think those cookies were the perfect "reward." Everything looks great but sorry about the rats.
I had no idea there were so many rats your way. Bummer that they got into the garden. I hope the traps do well to keep them away!
Lots of yummy food. That cod looks so good to me. That's what I'm having today for lunch! :)
I like rats. lol I post rat meme's on Mondays. I used to feed a wild one that we had in the maintenance shed.
The food looks good. I love peanut butter cookies.
