Sunday Stuff

 Hi Everyone!

It's early Saturday morning. The house is quiet, just the way I like my mornings. I wish these were growing in my yard, however, these are at a rest area on I-5.

This year I thought I would try a new way to grow carrots. Haaa I'm so glad I just tried it in one area. It goes like this. You take carrot seeds put them in some wet paper towel, cover them with plastic and set in a dark place. When the carrots root you take one root at a time and plant them in an egg carton that you cut a hole in the bottom. These are not my photos. But the carrots are supposed to grow so you don't have to thin them out and the cardboard just melts into the soil.
Uhhh yeah..... I saw that one carrot was ready to be pulled and this is what I got.
It didn't grow long, it grew fat!
I can't wait to see the other carrots. I have radishes growing everywhere. They are a good companion plant for almost everything. I found this one yesterday too.
OMG! How fun is this? Both the carrot and radish had excellent flavor.
I got all of the rolled oats into mylar bags, into the freezer for 48 hours and then into air tight containers.
As gardeners we are always looking for that special tool. Mine is this gauge that checks the soil for the PH, how much light plants are getting and most importantly how much water. I do tend to over water so this is a gadget saver for sure.,

Do you have a special tool for the garden, or kitchen, or for your art, or work area? Let me know know in the comments.

Have a great day today
 Nicole
