Friday Face OFF 6/27/25

Welcome To Friday Face OFF (FFO)

This is the place to show off your faces or your face. Post any type of face from any medium. You can create it, or find it in nature, or even that face in the design of the
woodwork in your house.
Human, animal, alien, or monster.
ANY KIND OF FACE!

I spent last Sunday drawing and once it was done I started on another. I had forgotten how relaxing it is to draw. I lose myself in the process and everything else simply vanishes.
So, I start with a quick sketch and then I begin to lay in the features. If I can get the nose right the rest sort of falls into place.

I tend to work all over the page.

Just putting feature in and a bit of shading. Real shading comes later.
The image I took inspiration from had her hair pulled back with these strands coming off the side. I didn't like it so.....

She got this hair instead. LOL
Oopps, I see one of my sculpture peeking under the drawing.
Taking the photos are at different times of the day, and as you know there is never the right lighting.

I did another drawing too but I ended up putting it in the "no good file"
As I get older, I have noticed that lupus/sjogren's is effecting me more and a bit differently. Mr. M. and I were in the grocery store today when all of a sudden I was completely lost and unaware of my surroundings. I started to fall. Mr. M. grabbed my arm and maneuvered me to a safe spot. This has happened a few times now. I have asked my new PC to put in a referral for a rheumatologist. Yeah, ya know the thing I don't want to do. The first one was denied. Won't take my insurance. So he has put in for another one. I hope I will be able to get in. There are just some questions I need answered. NO, I won't be taking any lupus medication.

Now for some features.

Don't forget to link up with Gillena

That's it for me,
now it's time to show me your face.

I love BOTH the faces and really enjoyed seeing your step-outs with your progress as the first one developed. Sending all good wishes for a referral that will take you insurance. Fingers are crossed!

I like how your first woman's eyes are looking upward -- so well done (as are all her facial features)! And I think your second woman is certainly worthy of posting. Glasses are damn hard to do, brava! Good luck, I hope you get your referral to a rheumatologist.

I agree. Drawing is relaxing. I always wonder where the time went.
Good luck with the referral, Nicole.
Thank you for hosting!

I actually like the second face with the glasses, but I like how you showed each step you took in the first one.

Good luck with your insurance. I hope you get some answers soon.

So scary with your nearly-falling. I wish you all the best and proper help. You are such a strong and positive person!

I really like both of your drawings. I wish I were that skilled in drawing. I need to do lots of practice.

It would be so much better in this country if doctors treated patients not because of the insurance they have. But they just treated patients. Ok, before I go off on that soapbox, I think bth of your faces are amazing. Even the one you don't like. Thanks for highlighting my bee photo too. :) I hope you don't have any more lupus moments and a super weekend ahead. hugs-Erika

you are raising awareness for Lupus symptoms
I'm sorry you're going thru it as it's so pervasive in your life, it's always something hard isn't it? Life can be good, and exhausting both. Invisible disease is so difficult to explain to people. We all need to know, others are coping with things and need understanding.
Some young men screamed at us as we crossed the street in our 'hood the other day, "get out of the street!" they screamed as they sped by twice the speed limit.
Then they screamed about my mask... not knowing why I wear it

It’s great to see your sketches, and I’m glad you are able to be drawing again. Your sketches of faces are lovely. Good luck with finding medical care, which is terribly wearing when we need it most!

I really like both of them. I have missed the faces you draw. They are always so expressive.
I hope you can get in and they can have some answers for you. That sounds scary! *hugs*

Thank you so much dear Nicole for featuring my blog. You know, I like real drawings more than the artificial ones...nice drawings. I hope you feel better now- but it is a hard thing to suffer from such a bad disease.
All the best

Your faces are so realistic. I just love them! I'm beginning a bit of improvement in my faces. I still have a long way to go but I haven't devoted near the time into it as you. Maybe one day I'll feel that I'm on your level. :)

Thanks for the invite to join the linky. Maybe next time, I'll take you up on it. I'm sorry for your recent scare. You're in my thoughts and prayers, darlin. Have a good weekend, Nicole! xo
