Welcome To Friday Face OFF (FFO)
This
is the place to show off your faces or your face. Post any type of face
from any medium. You can create it, or find it in nature, or even that
face in the design of the
woodwork in your house.
Human, animal, alien,
or monster.
ANY KIND OF FACE!
I spent last Sunday drawing and once it was done I started on another. I had forgotten how relaxing it is to draw. I lose myself in the process and everything else simply vanishes.
So, I start with a quick sketch and then I begin to lay in the features. If I can get the nose right the rest sort of falls into place.
Just putting feature in and a bit of shading. Real shading comes later.
The image I took inspiration from had her hair pulled back with these strands coming off the side. I didn't like it so.....
Taking the photos are at different times of the day, and as you know there is never the right lighting.
I did another drawing too but I ended up putting it in the "no good file"
As I get older, I have noticed that lupus/sjogren's is effecting me more and a bit differently. Mr. M. and I were in the grocery store today when all of a sudden I was completely lost and unaware of my surroundings. I started to fall. Mr. M. grabbed my arm and maneuvered me to a safe spot. This has happened a few times now. I have asked my new PC to put in a referral for a rheumatologist. Yeah, ya know the thing I don't want to do. The first one was denied. Won't take my insurance. So he has put in for another one. I hope I will be able to get in. There are just some questions I need answered. NO, I won't be taking any lupus medication.

Now for some features.
Don't forget to link up with Gillena
That's it for me,

I love BOTH the faces and really enjoyed seeing your step-outs with your progress as the first one developed. Sending all good wishes for a referral that will take you insurance. Fingers are crossed!
I like how your first woman's eyes are looking upward -- so well done (as are all her facial features)! And I think your second woman is certainly worthy of posting. Glasses are damn hard to do, brava! Good luck, I hope you get your referral to a rheumatologist.
Lovely portraits and good luck with your health
You did a wonderful job on these portraits.
I agree. Drawing is relaxing. I always wonder where the time went.
Good luck with the referral, Nicole.
Thank you for hosting!
