for the Tuesday's T-Party.
For me I am all over the map with things to write about. First off I told you in a previous post that my oldest grandson sent me some Conte' chalks and I have been having so much fun playing with them. Also watching YT to learn more about it. Then the light came in my brain. Along with all of my mom's artistic abilities. She was an excellent pastel artist. When she passed I brought home boxes of pastel chalks. This is what I found today. I really need to go through my art boxes. I am set for my venture into color media.

I made enchiladas for Saturday dinner.  |
Sunday we had them cold. Well heated a bit in the micro to take the chill off. Like eating cold pizza.  |

Also Sunday Mr. M. wanted a yellow cake. Ya know from a mix.  |
He likes Chocolate frosting on it. Yuck. Just not my thing. LOL  |
Today I made pizza dough and these buns.
It think they would make good hamburger buns.
I posted last week that I planted seeds that would take longer to germinate. Oh really?
I also planted one of the strawberry plants for indoors. Waiting for this weird weather to get over with and I will plant the rest outside.

What a fun post, Nicole. I LOVE those pastels. I have a set, too. Of course, I don't use mine to make art like YOU make, but I make art for backgrounds. You are so lucky to have these.
ReplyDeleteYour enchiladas look delicious. I would gladly join you. I'm not a fan of yellow cake, but I would eat the frosting in a heartbeat. Those pizza buns look great, too.

ReplyDeleteI love soft pastels! I'm not particularly good in using them, but I like the feel and how you can blend and "smear" them. So lovely.
ReplyDeleteYour food looks delicious, those enchiladas I would eat in a heartbeat. Not sure about the yellow cake, but chocolate frosting is something I definitely like. Mr M has good taste!

ReplyDeleteI get excited just seeing all those fun colors. I think the fun thing about art supplies are all the possibilities. And your food for this week looks yummy. And sprouting plants is exciting also. We've lost most of our snow, so I'm hoping it won't be long until I can get outside and move my cold frame into the garden. my mom crochet ,needle work ,embroidery ,knit ,would make traditional belts for traditional trousers (shalwar) and garden ,she never attended school but she had wisdom that touched life of so many around her :)
i saw only white chalk used for board writing in school actually so for me these pretty colorful chalks are new thing and i wonder if they can be used on paper .i will look for it
your hubby like sweet yellowcake and mine as well :) i have skipped cakes since few years ,only a single bite on Eid :)

ReplyDeleteenjoy wowrking with your art supplies, very special that you have your Moms your food always looks delicious. I always feel a bit guilty using a box mix but at least the gluten free mixes are all real ingredinets with no long names that I don't know what they are haha.

I have never had much success with pastels but they are fun to play wijth. I am sure you will do wonderful things with them.
ReplyDeleteIt makes me wonder what I might have stashed somewhere in the house, long forgotten. Once I took a book down from the shelf and found a twenty dollar bill. I had obviously used it for a bookmark!

ReplyDeleteoh yum, any cake with chocolate icing on it is the best cake!! I usually have baby strawberry shooting everywhere, buy this year I think the frost has got them. Love the the dragons...looks so real, as dragons go. I've been sorting out things too, I think I have the same chalks and oil crayons as you! Hardly used , but the box is a bit swished! Happy T Day! A cake from a mix? Making a sponge from scratch is so simple. I don't believe they sell a mix for that!
