FFO Friday Face OFF

Welcome To Friday Face OFF (FFO)

This is the place to show off your faces or your face. Post any type of face from any medium. You can create it, or find it in nature, or even that face in the design of woodwork in your house. Human, animal, alien, or monster. Any kind of face.

On Tuesday at the T-Party I showed my face model. It is a strange feeling thing. They said it felt like skin and reacted like skin. Well if my skin ever gets like this..... just put a bag over my head. This feels like rubber but then if feels like leather. Either way it is difficult to work on with makeup or paints. I was going through my art supplies and came across some oil paint sticks.
Please click on any photo to see a close up.
I learned previously, working with the head, that it needs a foundation on it first.

Here is half of the face with foundation.

Full face foundation.

and here she is with the oil paint sticks. I'm not sure why, but I really love this face.

OK, I cheated. Gene and I were talking about creating some watercolor faces. I have a very difficult time with watercolor. We both don't have much time right now so I went to AI to see what I could come up with.
Gene when we do our watercolor faces I will create IRT. LOL  It is so much fun creating with AI. It feeds my mojo.

My oldest grandson, is a natural artist. He draws or paints and it is just amazing. He creates art to relax. He is taking a class right now where the instructor is teaching how to draw with Conte' I told him I have never used it. So he sent me some. How sweet is that?
Then Mr. M. tells me he has some Conte' pencils I can have. How lucky am I? I will be playing with these this weekend.

This weeks featured artist is

I will be linking to Gillena

That's it for this week. Now it's time to show me your face.

Your face model looks like watercolours too! I've only ever done one drawing in conté but I loved working with it and how it looks. I want to take a full course some day using only conté.

Good work in AI!

You created a really compelling face, Nicole. Everything you added made her eyes really draw me in. It's wonderful that your oldest grandson is a natural artist. And thoughtful too! I wish my mother had lived long enough to see what an amazing artist her youngest granddaughter has become, not to mention she's now Dr. Natalie Heembrock and a veterinarian. My mother would be so proud of her. It's always fun to see what you come up with AI art. Take care!

Hi, Nicole! I enjoyed your post today. The face your created from the head is compelling ~ her eyes pull you in. How lovely that your oldest grandson is a natural artist. And he's thoughtful too! Mom's youngest granddaughter is a wonderful artist, and that would have made my mother so proud. Actually, a number of her grandchildren are artist in different mediums. Have a great weekend!

I forgot to link last night, so this is a bit late. I LOVE Shiva paint sticks. The colors are so intense. I don't use them often since they are not really meant to be used in altered books, but would be great for that face. I love her lipstick. The paint sticks work great on fabric, too.

I've never used a Conte pencil, so I look forward to seeing your experiments.

Those AI watercolors are fabulous. I can tell you really love AI. Thanks for hosting FFO, dear Nicole.

I would say you are a natural artist also Nicole, and I'm sure that's where your grandson get at least some of his talent. That ace is coming along great. Happy March, and have fun with your new conte crayons/pencils. I think they are pastels, right? hugs-Erika

Your work with watercolors is great. I have tried but never been successful. My link on your page today is of the Ayala Art 29 Faces for February. I completed my group #byeaghl yesterday right on time.

Wow. I'm really impressed with your "new" face. The colors are terrific and I like the techniques you used. I have a few faces in today's post for you!

shiva is good on fabric but smells so bad I can't use it. They say it's washable but it seriously faded despite being heat set, but pretty colors. I'm going to check out what conte is, thanks for telling us about it! How nice to share a love of art with family

Nicole,

Your face mask watercolor design turned out nice. Your AI creations are really nice, too. This all looks so fun! Have a doodletastic weekend, my dear!

Nice faces again. And the AI watercolour faces look handmade...but I feel a bit sad about this....if a picture is painted by one self it is worth more.
Have a good time
All the best

I’m again impressed by the way you have harnessed AI art programs to create your own work as you want it. Clearly, you know what to do with this emerging tool from technology, and put it to use in your own art creations. That’s neat! SO much is being said about using AI to deceive, cheat, and unsettle people. NOT YOUR WAY!

It sounds like you had an interesting time experimenting with different materials and techniques for creating faces!

I'll be so curious to see how you like the conte crayons and pencils and what you create. I don't even understand how a person uses AI to create art, but the watercolor ladies are beautiful. :)
