Welcome to Weird Art Wednesday!
I'm running late this morning. I have been sleeping very well and getting up later than normal. Weird huh? ha ha ha
For WAW, I have found two artists that put so much tiny detail into their art, that you can gaze upon it for a very long time and overlook some details. So take your time to appreciate the wonderful weirdness of the art.
Yui Sakamoto
Donut Democracy
Oil on canvas
Yuriko Shirou
Yuriko Shirou is a self-taught Mexican illustrator.
Her professional work has dabbled in Manga, American Comic and
Figurative Art. She has done several international projects for various
publishers such as Rittenhouse Archives, Cryptozoic Entretainment,
Braiiinz!

Lots of fun - pardon, weird - images. Hugs, Valerie
ReplyDelete...Donut Democracy is whimsically weird.
ReplyDeleteThe Shirou is terrific!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing these detailed works.
ReplyDeleteSo many great images within each of those works of art! I like the girl (doll?) in the teacup.
ReplyDeletebest, mae at maefood.blogspot.com
Their imaginations are outstanding!
ReplyDeleteWonderfully weird, and so full of detail!
ReplyDeleteAll the best Jan
Donut Democracy remind me of some kind of children's book illustration gone very bad--lol!
ReplyDeleteYuriko Shirou's dolls reminded me of destroyed Barbies. Probably only because of the recent Barbie movie--which I haven't seen yet. I do like the way it is delicately warped. :)
The cartoons gave me a vibe of Japanese Manga.
ReplyDeleteYou always find fabulous Weird art Nicole. This week was fun to stop by. That first piece had so many interesting things to see in it. hugs-Erika
ReplyDeleteAll of these are very interesting. I like the first one best. I think the sneakers on the grasshopper are delightful.
ReplyDeleteI wonder - would people hang these on their walls? They are (to my eyes anyway) interesting, but unappealing.
ReplyDeleteYuriko Shirou is such an amazing artist. Thanks for sharing her work
ReplyDeleteThese are awesome creations and truly original ~ one of the favorites that you have shown ~ thanks ~
ReplyDeleteGrateful for you ~ hugs,
Wishing you good health, laughter and love in your days,
