T Stands for Bone Head

 Hi Everyone!

Well, I'm such a bone head. Last week for FFO I shared a photo of my son and said he turned 53..... uhhhh actually it is 54. LOL
I tried to find a different photo but this is it. So Happy 54th.

Not much going on over here. Getting last minute things made and advertising done for my show. Closed down a good part of my garden today. Just not a good year for it. I have stopped watering the onions and will be able to harvest them in a few weeks. There are some very large ones that I can't wait to have in my hands.

I should get at least one eggplant

Finally, I'm starting to get some Mexican/Gray squash. Normally, by this time, I have so much of this squash that I'm putting it in my smoothies. Not this year.

If you want bees to come to your garden, grow Borage. I have never had so many  bees in my yard ever. Also several different kinds of bees. I have Borage growing in three different places. Borage has medicinal uses but be careful with it.

Well I guess that's it for now. I'm joing Bleubeard and Elizabeth for the T-Party.
Now to show something to drink.
I'm drinking water. I know boring but it is what it is.
I drink it hot,

I drink it iced

and at times I drink it at room temp.

Have a great Tuesday!

Zombies and Vampires or Zombie Vampires.
I had so much fun creating these creatures.
My show is in Sept. and getting as much made as possible is what is going on in my art room right now.
This is full mannequin head size.

I removed the lower jaw from this skull and made him a vampire.

I love this one. A vampire gone array. LOL
It's not showing up very well but the teeth are more gritty looking.

My wonderful Son turned 53.

That's it for today.
This week I have 2 features. The first one the number generator came up with
I love this face.

And because I have a strange connection to  Trolls I wanted to feature Erika N. and her trip to the
Coastal Maine Botanical Gardens

I'm also linking up with Gillena for

Now it's your turn to show me your face.

T stands for Energy

 Hi Everyone!

Today is the T-Party over at
Come join in, you will meet lovely people and see wonderful art.
My art today is my Voodoo hat for my Extreme Halloween show.
The beading and Miss Scully close to the rim is a bracelet I made many years ago.
I think I will stain the 3 skulls. The look a little too white.

Even though the cooler weather has not been good for my garden, there are a few things that are really liking this climate.
Onions!

I started these onion end the first of June.

 Here they are today.

Here are onions from my raised beds. Can't really tell but they are huge.

A new batch of potatoes. I have harvested the 3 buckets and got over 100 potatoes.

Also with the cool weather I got some great heads of cabbage. As some of you know I can my greens.

Wash and dry  the greens. Stuff into a clean and sterilized canning jar. Put on the lid and suck out all of the air.

I did put a food grade absorber in 2 of the jars to see the difference in self life. These were made 3 weeks ago and still as fresh as can be in the fridge.

I also did 2 jars of beet tops.

I still don't have great or even good energy so my drink for today is a Monster energy drink.  Ice cold and oh so good.
This is my flavor of choice.

Have a great day, today.

Apple Cake for Iris

 Hi Everyone!

Iris from
asked the question, what is your favorite cake? She said hers would be apple. Just the other day I made an apple cake and told Iris I would print the recipe. It calls for a frosting but it doesn't need one. If you have to have something on top, try whipping cream.
OK this is not the most appetizing photo.

This is better LOL
Seriously this cake is so good and moist that you will want to eat the whole thing in one sitting.

Also if I make this again I will use less sugar. It's pretty sweet.
You will need;
1C butter or margarine softened
2C granulated sugar, 3 eggs, 1/2t vanilla,
2 1/2C APF (all purpose flour)
2t baking soda, 1/2t salt, 2t ground cinnamon, 3C coarsely peeled and choped apples. 1C chopped nut optional.
Preheat oven to 350°F Spray and flour a cake pan. I used a 9x13"
In a large bowl bead the butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time. Add vanilla.  Add the dry ingredients.  Mix in apples and nuts. This is a thick cake batter. Spoon into the pan and bake for about 50 minutes. Check at 40 minutes to see where the cake is. Every oven is different. Allow to cool completely before frosting or cutting.
Hope you try it.

Friday Face OFF (FFO)

Welcome to Friday Face OFF (FFO)
This is where you can show any kind of face in any medium. Let your imagination go wild. Then link your blog to this one, link up with MR. Linky and start leaving comments. You will not be disappointed.

I'm sure you are tired of seeing skulls and skeletons, so today I'm going to show you some faces that I think are beautiful. There is something wonderful about an old face. Especially a woman's old face.
This is my mama. She always had a smile and her laughter came deep from within her. She told me many times that people have to find something to laugh about everyday. I miss her so much.

 Laughter only makes things better.

Wrap yourself up in a little smile.

This woman seemed to capture beauty and knowing. I love her smile and her eyes.

I showed this face not too long ago. There is something about her that makes me want to know her.

 And how sweet is she?
Looks like a lot of love within her.

This is Princess Angeline, daughter of Chief Seattle. Known for not leaving the city even though the  1855 treaty forced the natives into reservations.

Corrie Ten Boom a survivor of 3 different concentration camps.

I could not help but include my Nan. This was taken shortly before she passed at 104 years. Yes, that's me behind her.

Now for the featured artist for this week.
It is Monica from NatureFootstep

I'm also linking up with Gillena

Now it's your turn to show me your face.
Have a great day today.
