Movie Monday

 Hi Everyone!

I hope you had a good weekend. We had, yet, another house rattling storm. It is supposed to be better today. I hate the fact that I have my heater on in June. Sighhhh.... oh well.

I did watch 2 older movies that I had forgotten about. I saw both of these when they first came out and I own one of them. The first one is 1985 Aviator with Christopher Reeve, Roseana Arquette, Jack Warden, Tyne Daly and Scott Wilson.
Edgar (Christopher Reeve) is a former military flyer, scarred by a training tragedy and now working as an airmail pilot. His route is through the rugged Northwest, from Nevada to Washington. It's difficult at the best of times, but when he's stuck with an obnoxious rich girl, Tillie (Rosanna Arquette), as a passenger, it becomes treacherous. After Edgar crashes, the pair must put their bickering to bed in order to survive in the wilderness, with wolves stalking them and civilization far away.
Passenger are the future of this business.
Is one of the lines in the movie.
You can watch this free on Tubi.

The 2nd movie is also a very good and is based on the short story Walk Well, My Brother by Farley Mowat.
The stars are Annabella Piugattuk, Barry Pepper and James Cromwell.
In 1952, a routine flight over the Canadian Arctic runs into trouble, leaving macho pilot Charlie stranded in the wilderness with his only passenger, an ill Inuit woman. He needs her as much as she is relying on him, as she has the local knowledge that will allow them to survive. This is a heartwarming story with a few lessons. I watched this free on Prime. However, you can watch it free on Roku, Tubi, Pluto and Vudu.
I hope you give both of these movies a try.
Have a great Monday.

I've heard of "The Snow Walker" movie but have never seen it. Farley Mowat was a beloved Canadian author and I've read several of his books over the years.

You have my endorsement that it's no fun to have the heat on in June. So far this year we haven't had to return to heating, but it isn't at all unusual. Then its warm or hot for a while, and sometimes we need heat again in August. Oh well!
