T Stands for Strange Art

 Hi Everyone!

For me, today T Stands for Strange Art. In order to get my back to settle down, I have been resting more in the early evenings. As most of you know I am one of those people who can't sit still. Mr. M. says, I have busy hands. Even when I am resting I will be drawing, knitting, writing or some other creative endeavor. The last few days I have been drawing strange and wonderful creatures. Tom, from The Backroads Travller had left a comment on one of my strange art pieces, saying something about Halloween begins. Let me tell you, my entire house is always decorated with the strange and wonderful art. I will have to take some photos to show it all. For Tom, and all who pass here I hope you like these.

I love the teeth on this one.

Eyes any one

 Almost human

I'm joining in with the T-gang over at Elizabeth's and to get into the party here is my drink for the week.
Is Coffee. I seem to be drinking more it lately.

On a different note I am selling my quilting fabric. I have a few pieces for sale on FB
Here is my FB link just scroll down on the page.
There is a lot of fabric so I will either re open my Etsy store or my website. Still going through it all. If you are interested email me.
Have a great day today.

Movie Monday

Happy Monday!

I really took it easy this weekend. My back is in bad shape. Not doing all that I do helped settle it down. No one knows how much I hate not being able to do all that I want when I want to do it.  Sooooo what did I do? I watched movies. The first one I watched is,
"Come Play"
Yes, there is a creepy monster but the story is good and it ends so well and happy.
Its about an autistic boy and his family. Desperate for a friend, he seeks solace and refuge in his ever-present cell phone and tablet. When a mysterious creature uses Oliver's devices against him to break into our world, Oliver's parents (Gillian Jacobs and John Gallagher Jr.) must fight to save their son from the monster beyond the screen
Cast Jillian Jacobs, John Gallagher Jr, and Azhy Robertson.
I watched it on Showtime but it can also be seen on Amazon, and Fubo.

On Netflix I watched,
"Intrusion"
Great twist to the movie.
When a husband and wife move to a small town, a home invasion leaves the wife traumatized and suspicious that those around her might not be who they seem. Freida Pinto and Logan Marshall-Green.

I binge watched on the Showtime series, "The Affair" too. Mostly listened while I drew.

Hope you have a great Monday.

Garden Saturday Recipe on Hand

Happy Saturday to you!
There is not much left to my garden. The outside yard is cleaned up and the saved soil undercover.

In the GH the tomatoes are done, as are the poblano peppers. Green Bell peppers harvested little. I picked one yesterday and there are 4 more I am waiting for.

Cayennes did pretty well and just this
week a jalapeno came out.
I Won't grow peppers next year, they just don't like our cool weather here. I started all of the pepper plants in Feb. the length of time, water and feed is not worth the yield. I will put in more beans, squash and root foods next year.
So this is what I harvested this week.

 11 pints of corn.

 8 pints of green beans.

I finished off the apples with another batch of apple sauce.

Here are the black beans from the garden. I got just over a pound. I am happy with this.

I roasted poblanos in my air fryer. I have a broil setting and it was so much easier than trying to do it in the oven. I had 2 batches likes this.

We had a day of mega rain last week and these flowers popped back to life.

Here is this weeks recipe. I have many emails asking for my pizza crust dough recipe. It is so easy and is the best I have come across. This makes 2. One can be frozen for later.
You will need
2 packets (1/4 ounce each) active dry yeast
and 1 1/2 C warm water.
2 Tbs sugar
1/4 C  oil plus a little more to brush the bowl.
2 tsp salt
4 C all-purpose flour. Plus a little for the work surface.
Pour 1 1/2 C warm water into large bowl: sprinkle with yeast and let stand until foamy, about 5 minutes.
Wish sugar, oil, and salt into yeast mixture. Add flour and stir until a sticky dough forms. Transfer dough to an oiled bowl the turn over so both top and bottom are oiled. Cover bowl with plastic or a T towel and set aside in a warm draft-free place until dough has doubled. This should take about an hour. Turn dough out onto a lightly floured surface and gently kneed 1 or 2 times. Roll out and place on pan to be cook on. Add your pizza ingredients and bake in 450°F (233°C) Bake until dough is brown around the edges and ingredients are hot. In my oven this takes about 15 minutes.
You can also use this dough for rolls and braided bread.
Enjoy!

PPF 9/24

Hello!
Last Tuesday Mr. M. and I both had appointments at the same medical center. In my state of Oregon there are no visitors allowed at doctors appointments. I finished first so while I was waiting in the car I sketched this character. Now, I did see something like this on google images, and from my memory I drew her out.
Wishing everyone a happy day.

TAD a Sad Day for Rain

Greeting!
This is a sad day for Rain. She had to put her beautiful dog Marlene down. So head over there to cheer her up any way you can. Even in her heat break she is holding her TAD and the theme is sculpture.
Of course I am shamed into showing old art again. I just have not had time to get into the art room
Most of you know I love creating leather sculpture but I also love creating my little creature. The base is gourd, covered with a paste I make. Eyes are glass, hands are made from ellimorph. The hair is leather. Painted with acrylics.
The is the same as above with real teeth my dentist gave me
and flower in her leather hair.

Same supplies as the other 2
Be sure to stop by Rain's to see what the other artists have created.

Blueberry Cake

Greetings!
Yesterday Mr. M. and I had to drive to Eugene. We both had doc appt. Me for my ears and Mr. M. for a scan on his back.
I like down town Eugene. It's a college town so there is lots of young energy with great little shops and eateries. Getting there however is traffic chore. LOL
The medical center is downtown and as we looked over the city from the top of the parking garage it was full of life. Everyone! wore a mask. The people walking or riding bikes all following the rules.
It was a nice to see no one was upset about it. Not like in my town. The sun was shinning hot and it was a lovely day.
Today I have a 9 zillion things to do so here is what I wanted to share. The recipe for Blueberry cake. It is a very thick cake batter and once I added the frozen blueberries I had to press the mix into the pan. I thought, "Oh this is not going to bake well." On the contrary it is one of the best cakes I have made with fruit in it. I wanted to share it with you.
Ingredients
For the topping I made a basic crumble topping.
For the cake
1/2 cup soften butter
2 cups granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp vanilla
2 cups AP flour
2 tsp baking powder
3/4 tsp salt
2/3 cup milk
2 cups fresh or frozen blueberries.
1 make the topping and set aside.
Lightly grease and flour 9x13" cake pan.
Pre heat oven 350°F (180°C)
In a smaller bowl mix dry ingredients. Set aside.
Beat butter and sugar in large bowl until blended and creamy. Add egg and vanilla. Beat until blended and creamy.
Add 1/3 flour mixture to wet and beat just until blended.
Add half of the milk, beat just until blended. Continue alternating flour and milk until it's all blended. Add the Blueberries, (you can use other fruits you have on hand.)
Pour into pan and press into the corners. Add the topping.
Bake for  40 to 45 minutes. Check the cake to make sure it is done.  In my over I had to bake for 55 minutes.
This is my new go to cake recipe, it is that good.

Hope you give this a try.

T stands for a busy post.

Happy T-Day.
I am writing this now because I will be off line tomorrow.
This is T stands for busy post with Elizabeth over at
This last weekend I had the energy of a 20 year old.
(ahhh those were the days LOL)
Anyway, On Saturday I made a new Roman style curtain for one of my kitchen windows.  The fabric is rich red with embossed bamboo in it. I just love it!!!

Sunday I canned chicken dinners. I used my home canned chicken broth.

The Celery and onions came from my garden.

 Canned and ready to eat.

Ahhh one jar broke. It happens.

Then I prepared carrots, potatoes and apples.

I canned 14 pints of carrots and potatoes and 4 pints of apple sauce.

Back to Saturday I made spaghetti sauce. The meat is ground beef, Italian sweet sausage and beef chorizo.

I used my home canned sauce. OMG good.

The sauce is rich in flavor and perfectly seasoned. Home canned sauce is the way to go.

I also baked a blueberry cake from berries we picked this last summer.

Then today, Monday, Mr. M. and I cleaned up the garden part of the yard. Time for the sun flowers to come down and get mulched.

The garden area is cleaned up. The PVC is put away too.

Pallets are stacked with containers of saved soiled. It will all get wrapped in a tarp to be protected from winter storms.

 Now it is beer thirty.

I will be back on line Wednesday. See ya then.
