Paint Paty Friday June 25

Hi Everyone!

Here it is time for Paint Party Friday. I didn't have much time in the art room today but I have a few items. Thanks to Eva and Kristen for hosting PPF.

This is such a cool muted piece.
Still working on it.
The darn paper buckled and the light hit this wrong when I shot it,
but there is a creepy face in there.

The rest of these I did this week.

Now for those of you who follow me, you know that I have been telling you about the shortages on food we have here in Florence. Part of the problem is that the two major stores we have in town don't only take care of my town of 8,000 but also smaller coast towns that don't have shopping and the people come here. However, Mr. M. and I ventured over to Safeway/Albertsons and found that their shelves were pretty well stocked and the meat department had more meat than in the last month or two.  The butcher, who knows me, saw me coming and said I have it in the back for you. Mr. M. eats ground beef, but I refuse to buy that stuff in the tube or the repackage stuff from the tube. The butcher said he just ground the burger so I got fresh market ground burger, also pork chops, 2 steaks, sweet sausage, chorizo, and cod.  OMG! I thought I was in a dream. Also they don't ration any longer at this store, anyway not the meat.
Other items yes.

The flash frozen cod is sooooo good and very inexpensive.
Hey we buy what we can now days

I hope all of you are doing well, keeping safe and wearing a mask when you
venture out.

I love all the paintings in their own way, they're stunning! 🙂 Literally all of 'em.

I also love meat so, this post is crazy good, IMO! 😉

Beautiful works, the trees are my fav.
Yes, meat and especially ground beef we also always get fresh from the butcher.
Luckily no shortages here!
But services take forever.

Absolutely beautiful paintings again, Nicole. I love the ones you created earlier in the week, too.

I'm a vegetarian, so rationing meat doesn't concern me. I wish more people WOULD stay away from meat, so the poor workers in those plants didn't have to risk their lives to meet quota. Sorry if this is a rant. I'm not knocking you, honestly. If I was told I couldn't buy veggies, or veggies were rationed and I could only buy one tomato or one cuke, I would understand how you feel. Unfortunately, if you look on the map showing deaths in the states, Kansas has over 10,000 deaths and the majority are because of two meat packing plants in western KS towns.

You hit the meat jackpot!

Glad you were able to stock up on meat and fish. Here in Germany meat packing plants have also become the centre of 2 hotspots where everything is now in lockdown. Not because of the meat, but because the workers are held in almost slave conditions to keep prices down, it's a huge scandal here just now. Nobody is allowed in or out of those 2 districts, everybody there is in quarantine.
Your paintings are all lovely. Have a good weekend, stay safe! Valerie

oh your art! I like the birch trees best this week. The color is brilliant. As to shortages... last time we went Safeway had very little on offer. Sadly we have some boring meals ahead this week, especially little in the way of poultry we most have. LeeAnna in Aurora Colorado

all wonderful paintings but the birches painting is my favorite:) Good for you to finally be able to stock up on some meats and fish! We so very rarely eat meat but fish is another thing, and we also eat some chicken (well, hubby does much more than I).Luckily I have not experienced any shortages in any category in my area and we are lucky to have more than a handful of large stores (chain stores and others) within easy driving distance. Happy PPF!
