Hi Everyone!
Like most people I have a routine in the morning. Once that part of my day is done I really don't have a plan. My thought today was to create some art. However, the sun came out again, and this time it was warm, so I thought I would do some gardening. Now I am not a do or die gardener. In fact living on sand makes it pretty difficult to garden without a lot of expense and hard work. So when I do grow things it is in containers. To start my seeds I use plastic pop bottles. (We don't drink pop but I have friends that do and they give me their bottles.) I cut a patch out of the side of the bottle then make holes in the bottom. I lay out some small rocks and then the dirt. I push in the seeds, water and put in the kitchen window. Here I have 2 types of tomatoes, cucumbers, and brussle sprouts. I also started some garlic, and green beans in containers that are out on my back porch. I have lettuce ready to go as well. I make a small green house for the lettuce. When I get it up I will show you how I do this. You can grow lettuce all year round with this method.
For now my garden begins.
The tape tells me what plant and the date.
If tomorrow is like today I will get my shoe caddy garden started too. It is something I did in 2014. It worked perfectly.
Take one of those canvas shoe caddys that hang on the door.
For this one I cut off three of the shoe holders.
Leave them in the comments

Aren't you clever Nicole! I love everything you have done! I just plant things and let them grow! LOL! I'm a wild gardener! LOL! Keep safe my friend! Big Hugs!
Your pop bottle garden is inspired!
Love your ideas, especially the bottle gardens. I have a balcony and plant things there in various pots and containers- But I am not a dedicated gardener like my neighbour! StAY SAFE; vALERIE
Great idea to use those bottles and the shoe holder. Enjoy the sunshine.
I love your ideas-can't wait to see the plants in the pop bottles! I'm a gardener, and this year I'm trying a new plant-bushel gourds. I have to start them inside in a week or so. It's still a bit cold here (New York). Gardening is good for the soul, just like art!
Great how you did it and also painted on. Enjoy the herbs!
Unfortunately I don't have a garden
Have a good time!
Greetings Elke
WOW what a fantastic idea, I love how you used the shoe caddy as a hanger!
Take care and stay safe.

I've seen the pop bottle garden before, but I like your shoe caddy garden and hanger. That is clever and one I haven't seen before.
If you have containers, but want to start plants inside, I use egg shells. I fill the shells with starter soil, then add the seeds. The container holds the shells in place and put it in a bowl so I can water the eggs. In case I get too much water in a shell, the bowl makes sure the water doesn't get into places it shouldn't. Once you move the plants outside, you can plant the entire egg and plant. Nothing is wasted, since the egg shells add nutrients to the soil and plants.
Those plastic bottle planters look great! I really need to grow my own lettuce, it would save me a lot of money on salads and guinea pig food!

I like flowers but have a black thumb of death lol if its not a cacti I leave it for hubby to grow :p
That's a lovely garden beginning in my opinion, think you're off to a great start. Really like what you did with the bottles, too! :)
