Rain's TAD

Hi Everyone!

Today at Thursday Art Date with Rain the prompt is "Luck"
Well I didn't have any art made for this but wanted to share what is lucky to me.
Historically and cross-culturally, ladybugs are believed to be talismans of luck. Some believe that, if a ladybug lands on you, you should count the number of spots to predict how many years of good luck you'll have. Many think the spots indicate the number of months until your greatest wish comes true. Wishing everyone a lucky day today.

Oh Nicole, I've never heard of counting spots before. That's a new one for me. I love, love, love your take on LUCK. I'll be by later to join you at Rain's, but right now I'm just soaking in the lucky spots (grin).

I have known this from an early age, the Glücks Marienkäfer with its dots. Great, even in Germany that is said !!!

Guess like most, I didn't know about counting the spots either, but I did know about belief that ladybugs bring luck and that you should let them free, or even make them fly again, from your hand. Interesting :)

I have always liked Lady Bugs, like most people. A couple of years ago impostor lady bugs started showing up and they BITE! In the fall they cling to the side of the house looking for somewhere warm to go. Perhaps they are like Cicada and only show up every few years because come to think of it I haven't seen them in a couple of years.

I guess that must be why everyone loves the LadyBug ... she is a friend to all from childhood to old age. Good choice DVA, one lucky charm I had forgotten about. Best of luck to you this week and every week ...

Stay safe.

Nicole,

I didn't know ladybugs are a sign of luck. There are some years when we get quite a few of these little things in our house which drives me nuts. I really don't feel too lucky when that happens. lol
