Hi Everyone!
I had a very interesting morning. But first, for those of you who don't know me well. I share my body with lupus. At times the flares are awful. For my own protection I always wear a mask when I go out especially to the grocery store. I have been doing this for 6 years, long before covid. So.... I live in what is considered a small town on the Oregon coast. We have two main grocery stores in town and I shop mostly at Fred Meyer. Sunday mornings are my preferred time. The partiers are sleeping in, the church goers are getting ready for church and the store is pretty empty. Mr M. said he would go with me and that we should go when the store opens. Ohhh also shipments come in Saturday night and the shelves are fully stocked for Sundays. We pull into the store and the parking lot is filling up fast. There are about 50 people standing in line waiting for the doors to open. No one is 6 ft apart. We go in fully masked and gloved. (First time for Mr. M) I was shocked to find most of the shelves empty and food was seriously rationed. I also noticed that no one else was protected and everyone seemed to be in a panic. For some reason I wasn't expecting this here, the big city yes. I really don't know what I am trying to say here. Only that we all need to be as protected as possible when gong out. This is going to get worse before better and we all need to be ready to help others where we can. Please be safe.
OK, here is today's drawing. Still having a hard time with hair. LOL

Oh hi Nicole. I didn't know you had lupus. How weird it is for you that now, basically everyone in the whole wide world knows how you feel? I'm talking about wearing face masks, not lupus.
Exactly, we need to stay safe so everyone around is is safe as well. And possibly, just stay at home because, it's easier to protect ourselves that way. But you know that already.
What you may not know is how I like your drawing. It's a good one, sure the hair could use some more work but, I don't doubt you, you will work on the hair in the future more and get better too.
You are posting like all of us, full of venting and wondering how to cope. You have an extra specific challenge, and must keep doing all you can. Your drawing is lovely, and the hair is wonderful. Art therapy is a helpful thing, keep drawing!
Thank you so much. I love your comments and I am so very glad we met.
Yes, this is all new for all of us around the world and yes art is my out.
Oh, I know, it's CRAZY out there, isn't it! I like today's portrait, especially the little bit of blue that really makes it POP!
Keep safe. People are loosing all reasoning at the moment. Lovely drawing.
Sounds crazy Nicole! Stay safe!!! This portrait is lovely, the hair looks great!

It is scary out there, and so important for us all to do our bit.
Stay safe and stay well.
I like your drawing.
All the best Jan
Your drawing is beautiful and very expressive. I'm still surprised when I see empty grocery aisles, it just isn't something I every expected...
Nicole, please take care of yourself. The whole world has a difficult time, but it will pass. Stay at home as much as you can and be safe. Kisses, my friend.
