PROCEDURE ON MY EYE EEEEKKKKKK!!!!!!

Hi Everyone!
Yesterday I made some comfort food for myself. Yuummm all wheat and wheat bran,  muffins. I love these hearty, healthy muffins. No sugar, but sweet enough from molasses and  raisins.
Why do I need some comfort food?

Oh if anyone wants this recipe leave a comment with your email I will send it off to you.

Remember when my eyelid just spontaneously started to bleed?

Well a hard lump was found in the eyelid.  I am sorry to say it has grown. Soooo tomorrow I get to have an injection in my eyelid. (that gives me the creeps just thinking about it) then the cut and removal of what ever that is. I am hoping it is just a simple easy thing and nothing too serious.
I have trouble with that eye as it is.

So because I am somewhat clean obsessive (A LOT) I am going to rearrange my art room. I have almost everything else cleaned and ready for fall. I made curtains for a few rooms, and put down a new area rug. The heaters are cleaned and ready to go as well. So the art room needs a good de-cluttering and tables moved for optimal lighten this winter.

Wish me luck tomorrow. I really dislike going to the eye doctor. I would rather have a root canal. Seriously if I had secret information and you wanted it..... all you would have to do is come close to my eyes and I would spill it all. LOL!!!!

Have a very nice Tuesday!

OK I DID AS REQUESTED

Hi Everyone!

It has been just over a year that I started painting full time. Ya know no beading so painting became my new passion. I don't have the confidence that I did with my bead art but the painting gives me so many new and wonderful paths to take. I always incorporated painted backgrounds with leather work and I painted as a child with my Nan, so it wasn't completely foreign to me. Just the thought that some one would buy my paintings scared me. Well with my some of my paintings in the Reedsport art gallery and some buyers that came by my house my confidence level has risen. So I have taken the step that so many have suggested I do and list some of my paintings in my Beadwright Etsy store.  We will just have to see how this all plays out. I am offering free US shipping on my art work as well.
So if nothing else please stop by my Beadwright Etsy store and take a look.
I also want to thank all of you who have encouraged and helped me along this new artistic path.

No  you don't get my old Chinese vase. LOL Just the painting.

Some leather work is listed as well.

Have a great Sunday!

IN MY NEIGHBORHOOD

Hi Everyone!

Today I am making curtains for a few rooms in my house. I just need some heavier curtains for this winter.  I am almost done with fall cleaning and getting things read for winter. What do you do around your house to prepare for the winter months?
These little girls are getting ready for winter too. Coming down to the neighborhood to eat plants. With the lack of rain and the deforestation that is going on here it is harder for the wild life to get what they need. Last week we had a bear in our yard. Now there are lots of bear here but they don't usually come into town.
Anyway mom and her babies.

Have a great weekend!

Hi Everyone!

It's been a busy few weeks. I am doing my Fall cleaning and getting ready for winter. The drapes are washed, the walls are clean, the closets and food pantry all wiped down and reorganized. So being online has been limited. Diya miss me? Tee hee hee

While I have been busy I did meet a truly wonderful artist. Her name is Sally Kinsey and get ready her, art is thrilling. From pictures to boxes to jewelry all done in mosaic!

Here is just a few pieces and in her own words
I present Sally Kinsey from Sally May's Mosaic Art Objects.

Mosaics was not my first choice of art medium. My sister-in-law actually did some mosaics and I loved what she did! I thought, "Hmmm…that might be fun..." Years later I am still doing mosaics! It is a near limitless art form. From the tesserae to be used to the substrate or surface to mosaic on, the possibilities are endless!

in 2008 my sister-in-law showed me a small handful of the world's smallest ceramic tiles and I was absolutely hooked!! It took 2 years to find the manufacturer, who did not offer the tiles in the U.S.A., or retail via the web. They agreed to let me import them and sell via the web, and Tiny Tile Mosaics was born. I sold this company in 2013 to pursue my mosaics and other art interests full time.

Personally I enjoy using the small ceramic tiles as well as stained glass, colored mirror, tempered glass and beads and ball chain. I also love creating sculptural substrates like I did in "I Tied a Yellow Ribbon" and "She Was Born to Dance". Both of these pieces are very personal to me.

Although I have won a few awards and have had some pieces published, the greatest gift is to see peoples spontaneous reactions to my work. One of the most touching was when a Vietnam veteran cried when viewing "I Tied a Yellow Ribbon". I knew that piece was meant to be created, but that solidified why I make the things I do…to touch just one person is the greatest gift of all!

Be sure to visit Sally's website for more art and her etsty store.

MIND POWER ART GALLERY 25TH ANNIVSERSARY

Hi Everyone!

Last night was the celebration for the Mind Power Art Gallery 25th anniversary. The turn out was fantastic and I am very proud to have  my paintings, beaded gourds and leather art exhibited there. It is quite thrilling to see my paintings hanging in an art gallery. Tamara who is one of the owners has the extreme talent to look at art and know exactly how to place it for the best results. She is amazing. I don't know why having my paintings in an art gallery is so different than having my bead art. Maybe because it is new for me. This exhibit will be showing through Oct. and tomorrow is the Open House. There will be a lot of activity in Reedsport, OR. if you are in the area be sure to stop into the Mind Power Art Gallery.
Ohhh yeah and buy my art. LOL!

MY NAN'S ART DIARY

Hi Everyone!

I am home and had a very nice time with my mom. It is difficult to see your parents grow older.
Well heck it is difficult to see "me" get older. LOL
One of the things we did this time was go through old books. Most of them belong to my Nan. For those of you who don't know she was a famous artist in oil painting, was the first woman to open an art gallery and framing shop in her town, ( where my granddad made the frames) When she was young, just out of college, she traveled the world and painted under well know artist of the time. I know Alaska was one of her favorite areas and she made sure she painted with Sydney Lawrence. The others in France, England, and other countries I am not sure of. Nan lived to be 104 and painted blind for many years until her passing.
Now you will know why that what I found in all of her art books this treasure.
This plain red hardcover book with no dates. Pages filled with my Nan's hand writing...... all of her art notes from when she attended Washing State University. How lucky am I?

PAINT PARTY FRIDAY FACES IN FACES

Hi Everyone!

I know it is Thursday but I will post this now. I am in a creative mode and have lots of things on my easel and art table that I want to work on.
I thought I would show you two more paintings that I painted over and then one with a question. Not a hard question more of a fun question.

So this painting, I loved the red! ( you know my favorite color)  But the more I worked on it the more I saw a huge flaw and I didn't know how to fix it. So I painted over it.
This was just a fun experiment with movement. Yes I painted over this one too.

Now for the questions.
Do you remember this painting? It has Red Gold Leaf in it.
I never like this one. Looks to much like under the sea.

So I did something fun with it. Ready?

I decided to make the under sea painting a bit darker and created faces. Some you can see right off. Some are hidden and you have to re focus your eyes, some are faces within faces within faces.
How many faces can you find in this painting?
Have fun.

I adjusted the hue to bring out the lighter colors so you can see the faces better on line
Now tell me how many you see. LOL

I am linking with the wonderful ladies of Paint Party Friday, Eva and Kristen.
Be sure to stop by to see all of the artists who so graciously share their art.
