PAINT PARTY FRIDAY FIRST ABSTRACT PAINTING

Hi Everyone!
I am posting early.
OK so don't laugh..... this is my first abstract painting. As I mentioned before I am spending the next year on at least getting good at abstract art. I knew it would be difficult, especially for me, but wow it is even more difficult than I imagined. I got some good tips from my friend Lynn Lindley  and after playing with paint on my Nicole's BeadBacking I tried on a small canvas. This is what I came up with. Be kind in your comments this is my first one. LOL  Sooo different from painting still life.

First abstract in acrylics on a 14x10" canvas

After last weeks PPF and my cement art. I received a special order on one. This has already been sent off to the buyer. This is a 12x12"

Here is a close up of the texture.

A big thanks to Eva and Kristin for hosting Paint Party Friday. I encourage you to check out all the other wonderful artists who participate.

  5. I do not know what makes me like particular abstract art and be oh hum about others. I think it would be difficult to make a good one! You should do more of the cement art obviously as you already have sold one! Great works for this PPF! Patsy

  6. Good for you! I think abstract is hugely difficult. I know I would rather paint a portrait than an abstract because I can't get my brain wrapped around abstract - at all. I'm totally impressed with your first one and am looking forward to many more!
