Hi Everyone!

Yessssss............... eeerrrrrr it is yet another stormy day here in Florence. My bones ache and the constant dark really gets to me. I guess that is why I added snake vertebrae and hair pipe (bone) beads to this skeleton piece. LOL Besides it just worked for this non-traditional piece.

The bones were stained with dark coffee. Jasper flat ovals, gold 4 mm rounds, and a gold fly charm. This is an easy wear for men or women.

Enjoy.

Of course the house is dark as night so the photos are not as good.

GRADUATION

Hi Everyone!

So the rain is still upon us here on the Oregon coast. OOOhhh... and let us not forget the wind. :( 

I did have to venture out to the post office. A very nice surprise for me there. A graduation invitation from my grand son and his photo. OKAAAAYYYY so I might be a bit just bit bias but isn't he a handsome boy!!!!?

WEEKEND BEADING

Hope all of you had a great weekend. It was Rhody days so the whole town was busy with people from all over, carnivals, car shows, craft shows and lots of eating everywhere. The weather started to turn bad yesterday and the parade did get a bit of rain. NO I don't do rain so I stayed in and beaded. LOL

Today we are in storm central.

So here are a few of the pieces I created over the weekend.

FLORENCE OREGON

Hi Everyone!

Just stopping in to say hello!

This weekend here in Florence, Or is Rhody Days. Why because you have never seen more Rhododendron plants in your life as in Florence. Streets are named after it, shops, and events. Early this morning Mike and I headed to the Events Center to say hello to beading friends that are vendors at the Rhody arts n craft show. We figured we would go right when it opened before the crowds. OMG town is packed with people. The carnival was already running the streets blocked off in old town for car shows, carnival food tents, another craft show in the board walk and 5,000 bikers. I am not kidding. Florence has become the biker get away. It is all so much fun and there is really not much trouble here in Florence. The parade is tomorrow. It is just a few blocks from my  house so we will walk up to the Hwy to watch it. There will be lots of parties tonight in Old Town and usually there are fire works that we can see right from our back porch. If you are heading this way and need a hotel be sure to call ahead of time. LOL

As always Lark has the pure talent of assembling the best instructional books. Each page truly gives something to the reader. I do like this book and how Sabine brought the techniques together. I know if you have this book it will be one you turn to often.

Hi Everyone!

I received an email from long time friend Carol Dean Sharpe of Sand Fibers.  She has been keeping a secret with Lisa Peters of Lisa Peters ART and now that secrete is out!!!! Together Carol Dean and Lisa  are collaborating for this years Bead n Button show!!! Lisa was able to get two both spaces numbers

1213 and 1215.  Both ladies have been working very hard to make this year the best. Lisa has created new beads and cabs while Carol has been putting her fantastic kits together. Grace Daniel has stepped in creating some instructions. With all the talent from these ladies you must stop in to see them. Hi Everyone!!

It has been a crazy week with the best weekend I have had in awhile. Mike and I drove up cost to Newport, OR. to the historical section of Nye Beach. I have shared with all of you, many times, about the best little bead store on the coast,  Nye Cottage Beads. Linda Neigebauer, the owner is an amazing woman who makes everyone feel like they are just part of the family. With that said you know Linda only hires the best of the best. These wonderful women were my students this last Sunday. All of them were so eager to learn and the fun level was in high mode. Mike and I drove in on Saturday evening and stayed in one of Linda's cottages. The weather gods came out for us. It was amazingly warm and sunny. We walked Old Town chatting with the very friendly shop owners and even went down to the beach. If you are traveling to the Oregon coast be sure to stop in and see the wonderful ladies of Nye Cottage Beads. You will not be disappointed. Linda has an amazing selection of beads and supplies. In addition, if you need a place to stay on the cost call the bead store. Linda has a studio, one bedroom, and two bedroom cottages that are immaculately spotless, with everything you need in the room. Linda goes all out to make your stay as relaxing as possible. 12x12 box canvas (gallery canvas) acrylic brush painting acrylic air brush, molding paste, stone paint, leather face sculpted free hand, (no mold was used).
