BIRTHDAY WINNERS

I am still outta breath from all the wonderful of yesterday. All of you made my birthday so rich and full. The e-cards, emails, comments, phone calls and well just the love sent my way has lifted me to new heights. Thank you, thank you, thank you.

So I told all of you that I had picked out the gifts I was going to send to my three birthday party winners. However, after thinking about it, that is not what I would do if I was invited to a birthday party in real time. I would see what my friend needed or wanted for their birthday. So I have scrapped my original gifts. Now I have drawn names and I am going to send gifts that these three people would want or maybe need.
Sighhhh.... you don't get to see the gifts yet. OK OK I haven't taken the photos, don't get so excited. Just know that each gift is special to these people. Now here is the sad part I won't be able to show the gifts until Monday. I  have to leave in just a few minutes to my mom's. So photos on Monday.

OK sooooo when I cleaned my closet out the other day I came across a photograph. Don't ask how this got into the art closet but it did. As I was looking at this picture I smiled, cracked up, then shed a tear.  This is a photo of my mom, me, and my Nan. Both of these women have been my inspiration in life. My Nan was the one who always told me "I could do it" what ever it happened to be. She lived to be 104 years old. I miss her. This is us in Hawaii in 1981. We had the best time.  Hey Brooke Shields has nothing on me and my eyebrows. LOL Wow.

Hope you enjoy the younger me and go ahead have a chuckle or two.

Oh and the guy with his arm around me. I have no idea who he is. We were getting on a boat and he came up behind us and got into the photo.

He did buy me a drink though.

WHAT A DIFFERENCE!!!

It took me two days, because of my foot, but it is done!!! The closet that was driving me nuts is all clean and organized. I am amazed at two things. One, how the heck I managed get so disorganized, and two how much room I have. LOL

No I am not coming to any of your houses to clean closets. I love ya..... buttttt.... and I don't do windows either.

PRETTY AND NOT SO PRETTY lol

Hi Everyone!

First I want to thank each and everyone who left such wonderful comments for my last post. My circle of friends is amazing and the energy we share with one another keeps and holds us. I am trying some new herbs for the lupus and I must say they might just be working because I have had two pain free nights. Although I am a bit achy today it is not as sever. So again thank you.

An hour ago the sun was shinning here in Florence and with no wind it was actually a bit warm. That has changed. The clouds are hovering and the temp has dropped but the sun is out and my curtains are wide open. Finally.

So here are some shots of my back yard. Mike has actually mowed the lawn twice in the last month. You know all the rain we get here things grow like crazy. :)

Now for the not so pretty. You need to know that I am a bit of a clean freak. or maybe just a freak LOL I hate clutter!!! Now this is a challenge living with a man who is a boarder line hoarder. I think we call them "pack rats" tee hee hee. Mike has a reason for saving EVERYTHING. including broken items. I just don't get it???? So when I opened  one of my art supply closets I about fainted. OMG how did this get so unorganized and "cluttered" and just a mess??? Guess what I am doing today. I have a chair all set up in this room and I am cleaning out this closet today. A broken foot is not going to stop me from getting this done today.  I AM WOMAN, I AM DETERMIND.  LOL

 This is just not acceptable

AND I'M FEELIN GOOD

Hi Everyone!

You know the song by Michael Buble, I"m Feeling Good"? Well... it is one of my all time faves and that is just how I feel today.

Last night I slept pain free for the first time in over a year. When that happens I kind of freak out wondering what is wrong that my body isn't hurting. However, today I also got up with a burst of energy. Those of you who are have chronic pain knows how energy depleting it is. Soooo with a blues song in my head, and energy abound (for me) I am going to finish up bead projects that have been sitting on my work table.

Kelly Angeley's Big Win

BEADED CUFFS N MORE

Hi Everyone!

The sun is shinning two days in a row. Yesterday was sunny and cold today is a bit warmer. I hope these are days to come and that our rainy season is over???? Not until May I think.

I have been trying to bead up my patterns so that all of you know they are true to what you see. Here are two of the peyote patterns. Again I am so please with the word chart. They are so easy to follow.

So today I am going to sit on my back deck in the sun and try to rejuvenate. What are you doing today?

TWO POSTS IN ONE DAY!

Hi Everyone!

I know I know two posts in one day what am I thinking. So be sure to scroll down to see my earlier post. You can not believe the wind and rain we are getting today. The windows are rattling it is so strong.

This weather has allowed me to get some things done today. I have finished up two new patterns that I am pretty happy with. I really do love working the peyote word charts that I provide with my patterns. Makes it so easy to follow. The first is an African woman I drew a few years ago. This face is also one that I carved and use as a mold for my leather work. So it only seems right to make her into a Peyote cuff pattern. I love the colors too.

Second is yesss another skull. I will never get tired of drawing them so again they should be made into patterns. This one is Peyote as well.

LEATHER AND AFRICAN BEADS

Hi Everyone!

It is a rainy, stormy day today here in Florence, OR. Ohhhhh reeeaaalllllyyyyy? It feels OK though. I have tons of things to catch up on since going to town yesterday. So let it rain.

This morning I have listed, in my Beadwright etsy store , the last of my African Trade beads. Well the beads I am willing to let go of. These beads are all very old great if you are collecting but also wonderful beads to use in bead art projects. Wearing old beads truly lends to all the history of what we as beader are today. So think about adding beautiful old beads to your art.

I love these red skunk beads. They are wound compound glass with polychrome dots. These were mainly traded into Ethiopia. They ward off the evil eye and have big magic.

Also just listed in my Beadwright etsy store is some fantastic leather in 13 different colors. Hmmmm think they match up with Nicole's BeadBacking??? ahhh yeahhhh! :) I got a great deal on these colors and am passing them on to you. The hides are deer and wild boar. So easy to sew with and the colors are amazing.

I have a limited supply so if you like these get them while they last.
