Friday Face OFF 1/16/2025

Welcome To Friday Face OFF (FFO)
This is the place to show off your face art.
You know, ANY type of face, nature, the face of a flower, Photography, drawings, paintings. There just needs to be a face in your blog post.

Don't forget to join in for Sunday in the Art Room, "SITAR" Anything art. Please don't forget to link back to my blog. Thanks

As you know I have been creating art more than usual. All I want to do is create. Wearing glare free glasses has helped with doing this. I started wearing them for the retina thing and I think I will continue to wear them. They soothe the eyes. Do you wear any kind of glare free glasses?

Yes, these are yellow tint but they work for me.
I have quite a few drawings completed and this week I'm showing a very strange colored pencil piece.
I guess I don't have any beginning photos.
I get to this point.

and the next thing I know I have it finished.
I had to soften his face a bit. Shrink the jaw, adjust his eyes.
He is definitely a strange looking guy.
However, I like the colors.

Here are some AI pieces I made with NightCafe.

It's time for some features.

Maria A great gift and watch the videos.

Andrea Old photos are always so much fun.

OK, it's getting close, January 30th is the FFO day to show your challenge portraits.
The new challenge is to create a portrait of anyone you want. It can be your family, friends, actors, faces you find on the internet, or a perfect stranger that will allow you a photo to work from and to show with your portrait. You can work in any medium, except photography, meaning you can't just show a photo of a face. For this challenge you must create a face.
This challenge is optional, I still want to see all of your faces.
That's it for me. Now it's time to show me your face.

  1. That is an interesting drawing. I wouldn't characterize as "strange", he looks more like someone who went through some hard times in his life. I like him, and I also want to feed him. He looks like he might need some food.
Only two more weeks for the portrait. I'm getting panicky...

  2. The Rare One once gave me a pair of yellow tinted glare-free glasses designed for night-time driving. I never found them to be particularly useful. Your portrait today has strong features and such an intense gaze!

  5. Yep, like Debra, my Brother gave me some for driving, too.
Wow on the pencil face! And I love the AI, too. Have a great Friday, Nicole.

  6. I like your drawing, Nicole. In the first and second drawings, the man's gaze seems just a bit intrusive. In the final drawing, the eyes have the right expression.

  7. The mans face, he is himself :)
I wear tinted glasses to do my blog, these are prescription ones.. I wear normal sunglasses when outside as I don't care for the glare even in winter.

  8. To me he looks firm and resolute. He’s probably been through a lot and is a survivor.

  10. The color and detail on your faces is really good. I'll share a portrait I did, although it's not that recent! Looking forward to it!

  11. I don't think this face is strange, but I can't quite figure out his age.I'm going to say older but not really really old. I think he has a lot of personality. Your first Night Cafe piece really attracted me. And I don't have any computer/ no glare glasses, but I have thought about them. I know other people who like them too. Have a super start to your weekend and of course FRiday too. hugs-Erika

  18. Hi, Nicole! I'm glad you are creating madly and the anti-glare glasses help! I think your compelling portrait shows a man who has survived a tough life and is reflecting on an ordeal. Love your AI portraits, especially the first. Thanks for the shout out! Have a great day! ❤️

  20. Since I only have time to post once a week, I'm double dipping, but they're 2 different pictures. Your color portrait is so much better than the one I submitted. I had trouble with the proportions in mine. Blessings, my friend!

  22. Dear Nicole, you've created another fantastic portrait – did you use a reference image? The guy looks interesting, but also a bit rough – I think I liked him better with blond or white hair (i.e., without having colored it yet) 😉. Your AI-generated images are also very well done again – I especially love the artfully made-up eyes of the girls.
You asked about glare free glasses – I rarely need glasses; my eyesight is better now than it was when I was younger, but I still have glasses for watching TV and driving that I sometimes wear and sometimes don't, and I have prescription sunglasses. I think they're all anti-reflective. I also recently ordered a pair of computer glasses. No idea if they're anti-reflective or not... In any case, I'm so glad you got good news about your retina issue!
I'm afraid I won't manage a portrait again... but maybe I'll get the chance...
Warm winter greetings & hugs ❄️☃️, Traude

  23. I like old pictures too- especially when they are black and white. Nice drawings ...as ever dear Nicole. And always astonishing what AI can create.
Have a good time and all the best
