Welcome To Friday Face OFF (FFO)
This is the place to show off your face art.
Well this has been another very busy week. I was drawing a picture when I realized I had drawn this girl before. I have a folder of face that I like and sometimes pick one to draw. I thought, "OK just go with it." I was just about finished when I grabbed, (what I though was a dark graphite) and went in to shade the lips more. OMG! It was an ink pen. I don't do well with ink.
Again I thought, "just go with it." Well I still don't like it and it was going to go into the toss file. But then, we all have art pieces that we think are not good. As artists, I think we should show our bad pieces as well as our good.
So, here it goes.
She started like this.
She doesn't look too bad on line but in real time I just don't like the lines. Maybe I will finish her and see what happens.
When I was going through photos I found some that brings back such great memories for me.
This is me and my mom in the mid 90's. We had an herb shop and did shows all across the country.
Now for something not so darn sad. LOL
I think I mentioned somewhere that this year is the first year I have ever seen a cricket. It is also the first time I have seen a Pray Mantis. I have lived here almost 20 year.
This is on our door jam at the back of the house. I had to lighten this up. His face was so darn cute.

What surprised me was I had just read a blog post on "It's a small town" and she showed a Manits. I guess the gods knew I wanted to see one in real life. LOL
Now for some features.
Iris. Always has the best stories to tell.
Gene. He is so talented in many venues. Here is one of his AI pieces.
Granny Annie. A special style of art that I just love. Well that's it for me.
Now it's time to show me you face

God bless you and your sister
I guess we are our worst and most severe critic. I'm pretty sure that you could probably turn this piece into a direction that you like. I have never worked with ink.
I love the photos of you and your mom and sister. How sad that you lost your little sister and completely understand that you miss her. Funny about the mantis - I did see your comment on Michelle's blog and immediately had to think of that when I saw your photo of the mantis.
Have a lovely weekend, NIcole.
I think the lips look good, but I am seeing it online. I think I do better with pen than pencil.
OKay, I am curious about the "Dorothy Ann" on the picture.
I understand too well about losing a sister. My sister died too early, she was in her twenties. I still miss her so much.
