Friday Face OFF 9/26/25 You are not a copy machine

Welcome To Friday Face OFF (FFO)
This is the place to show off your face art.

This week I made time to draw. I was looking at some women with short hair cuts. I found a lot. I really like this girl's face. I lost the original photo.
Ahead of time my photos are not great at all. She started like this. One thing she had the weirdest nose. LOL

Then. The "fix" on my adobe did this to her lips. They are not this dark at all

Then again, "fix" just doesn't like her lips.

Making some progress and a better photo.
She ended up like this.
I was watching a very short video on drawing faces. The artist was using a grid, which I can not do at all with dyslexia. I was just watching her draw, not paying much attention to what she was saying, when she did say, "You are not a copy machine." "It's impossible to get every nuance of photo down on paper."
This hit home with me. Lighten up, loosen up, so what if it doesn't look 100% like the photo you are drawing from. It is my interpretation.
I think this is a very good lesson.

Here are some of my AI art creatures.
Remember the art of it.

And now for something pretty
More monster next Monday
Now it's time for the features.

Nuria creates some of the finest portraits.

clever designed art work that speaks to the heart.

Sintra. A wonderful blog with daily music.
For FFO she played
Paul Mccartney Hey Jude.

Now it's your turn to show me your face.

Whatever the medium, you are definitely an artist.

Very well done!!! Your artist is my Jamie Oliver. "You can do it like this or your way!" - that is how I love to learn - otherwise I´d not be cooking. To our own styles, learning casually from the great ones.

This week's face turned out great. She is a beauty. I tried the grid pattern once and I STILL couldn't draw the image.

I love your AI creations. This week, my favorite is the lighthouse. Thanks for featuring my art this week. I think Nuria's face is out of this world.

Bravo! Très impressionnant. Autant les dessins que les réalisations en AI

I remember the days when we were expected to keep a field note book and draw what we observed, with indicators to key identification characters. As someone who could never even perfect a stick bird, I have great admiration for your indisputable talent!

Ah, the "you are not a copy machine" goes perfectly with my piece for today. I said "I am taking artistic license...."
I love your face drawings.

That is a great comment. And so true. Thanks for the reminder. And it's interesting how in your final drawing the lips work perfectly, but you are right, before that they don't quite work. She is really lovely. Have a super weekend ahead. hugs-Erika

Your sketches make me so jealous. I think I might try to take more time on my 29 Faces in February, 2026

You do such an amazing job shading. Your portraits always turn out nice. I have a long road ahead of me to catch up with you, but that's part of the fun. :)

Happy Friday, Nicole. Kudos to you for making time to draw this week. Your finished portrait is beautiful. She looks like she's listening intently to what I'm saying, but definitely has her own, different thoughts about the topic. Well done!

Me encantó tu dibujo.
