Friday Face Off 7/4/25

Welcome To Friday Face OFF (FFO)

This is the place to show off your faces or your face. Post any type of face from any medium. You can create it, or find it in nature, or even that face in the design of the
woodwork in your house.
Human, animal, alien, or monster.
ANY KIND OF FACE!

Here in the US it's 4th of July.  Also known as Independence Day. It's a federal holiday commemorating the adoption of the Declaration of Independence on July 4, 1776. It's a day for celebrating American independence with parades, fireworks, picnics, and patriotic displays.
This year, however, all but 2 republicans finalized the Bill that will destroy America even further. So, instead of celebrating the evil that has taken over the country,
flip the flag and resist. It is literally a fight for our lives.

I don't normally get to political here but......

Now for FFO.
I have been drawing almost everyday. I'm so glad things have settled, just a bit in my home, that I have the time and inspiration to create.
I forgot to take beginning photos so we start here.
Then here

and finish here.
There are a few mistakes on this but at least I'm drawing.
If you saw my post earlier this week on the morphing AI you will understand my obsession with these.

 Now for some features.

Don't forget to link up with Gillena

Before I go I want to let all of you know that Carol, and her adorable assistant, have a new blog. You can find them here

That's it for me.
Now it's time to show me your face.

  3. Has that ever happened before that you cannot feel like celebrating this day? Well, you are great again and the war in Ukraine is long over...
Beautiful portrait - I have no "nerve" for sketching atm..... Wow on the AI! Have a happy Friday, even if you probably rather feel like thinking...

  6. With three and a half years of injustice and abuse of power ahead of you, I can understand your angst. Stay well, Nicole.

  7. Oh yes, dear Nicole – especially on meaningful holidays like the 4th of July, it's painfully clear how much has changed in the U.S., and unfortunately not for the better. It no longer feels like a day of celebration...
And I believe it's sometimes necessary to get political – too often, the wrong people are the loudest, shouting slogans and managing to stir up the crowds... which then leads to outcomes like the last election in your country. I'm truly sorry! (But sadly, this is happening in many parts of the world – populists are gaining momentum everywhere.)

I really love the girl you drew – and that you shared her creation process with us. Those warm, expressive eyes are so important to her face!
And wow – the morphing AI video is absolutely fascinating!

All the best and hugs from Austria 🤗

  12. I feel the same way you do about celebrating today. That bill only separates the greedy rich from the rest of us. Thanks for the flag info. Your face is amazing today. I like how you showed it in steps along the way. Wishing you a nice holiday even with the political mess this country is in. hugs-Erika

  13. I couldn't agree with you more. Well stated. Love al your art here. I guess we celebrate what we WERE, not what we seem to be now. But in any event, I hope the day is good for you.

  15. It´s really a mass what´s going on in the U.S. Independence Day? Maybe someone should remind himself what this should stand for.
    Nice drawings dear Nicole.
All the best and a good time

  17. I had intended to join you this week for FFO, but realized if I didn't make a statement about Independence Day, it could be the very last one we will ever see.

I love the girl you drew. I especially love the hair and eyes.
