Just Stuff

 Hi Everyone!

Do you eat Rolled Oats?
It's Mr. M's go to breakfast. It is a moderate meal for CKD due to the potassium and phosphorous.  However, Mr. M. doesn't seem to have a problem holding normal on those 2 things. Plus, he is within the limits I have set for him.

After we left the nephrologist this week we stopped at Winco to do our grocery shopping. It is the best place to shop with the lowest prices. As you see we got 25 lbs of rolled oats milled right here in the Pacific Northwest. This 25 lbs is $16.00 that little 2 lb box is $4.69. How can I go wrong with a bulk bag? I have containers that the bakery manager saves for me and I have gamma seals for them.

The garden is doing really well. Here is another cabbage.

Again, if you are growing brassicas it is worth the money to get row covers to keep out  this little creature. A crop can be devastated with cabbage worms if you don't.

Pieris rapae

The peas are big and plump too.

And for the first year I have 4 plants with brussels. YAY!

That's it for today. I will be around to see what all of you are up to later today.

Have a great day.

Nicole

Your garden is going at warp speed. That's a terrific price on the oats. Is winco a discount house?

Geat to hear good news from your garden! Congrats on both cabbage and pies. This summer I only have basil and mint.

I had to google gamma seal lids--lol! They do look just perfect for buckets! Your garden is coming along so well. Things are flourishing well. Have a great day, my friend. :)

I love fresh peas in the shell! If I lived near you, I would sneak into your garden in the middle of the night and raid them!

You get your brussel sprouts really early. Mine won't show up until August sometime. But yours look amazing.

I had to google Rolled Oats... Haferflocken - what a crazy word you have for those! Yes, on occasion I put them in yogurt.
WOW on your peas! I remember when being a child we went on bikes to the neighbor-village and there was a field of peas... They were much smaller, though, but so yummy.
Oh" Brussels Sprouts! One of my favs!
Too a great, yum day!

I see I wasn't the only one who didn't know about gamma seals. That will be a great way to store the bulk rolled oats.

As far as I know I have never eaten rolled oats and I am not seized with a burning desire to try them! Your garden is doing well and you are wise to protect against Pieris rapae!

Your garden looks great despite all the rain and chilly weather you have had. Good luck and enjoy the peas!

That's awesome deal on rolled oats. We use to eat oatmeal frequently but haven't in a year or more. Our stomachs have gotten so finicky. We're experimenting with different things to make foods more friendly on our tummies. It's battle.

Your veggies are beautiful! I love cabbage but it doesn't love me. Recently I made cole slaw for the first time in quite awhile. It was so good. Of course, it bothered me but it was worth it.

I managed to work in a FFO piece this week. This is DH's off Friday. I thought about waiting until next week but that's a holiday and then the following Friday is his scheduled off day, so I just threw in my post today.

Have a good day, Nicole! xo

Rick loves rolled oats. I tend not to eat so much but do cook with them. And in winter -- oatmeal is the best! Great garden progress. Those peas are wonderful and three cheers on the sprouts!
