Wow! Weather

 Hi Everyone!

We are having weather from hell. It has been pouring for 4 days straights. I mean rain that comes down in buckets. The wind is 25MPH sustained with 40MPH gusts. Wind and rain coming from the ocean is strong, angry weather. Ya know WOW! Weather. Then yesterday I get an alert on the TV warming of avalanches. First time I have seen that.

This is not my MRI but my brain looks like this and the syrinx (a fluid-filled cavity that forms within the spinal cord) in my spine looks exactly like this.
There have been no changes so that is a good thing.

When I had my brain and cervical spine MRI it is always with contrast. Now I know I have lupus veins, but really, every time I have to get stuck more than once and end up with an arm like this.

I made some bread in an old bread machine my SIL gave to me. Hmmmm I'd rather make and bake bread by hand. It tastes OK but the crust is tough. I did use bread machine flour and yeast but it didn't help.

I started getting a few garden things going, despite the weather. Indoor gardening will have to do for now.

A table set up in my art room close to the window.

Seed potatoes sitting in the window. First break in the weather and they will get planted.

These are onion ends from store bought onions. The roots are very strong.

I have a large selection of seeds but always need more.

24 hours onion bottom rooting in water. Already see growth

 48 hours doing fine

Celery end. Sometimes celery stocks grow other times just the leafy part. Either way it gets used.

 48 hours looking good.

Today I'm making seedling soil and will plant some flower seeds. What are you doing today?
Whatever it is make it good.

Nicole

  1. We had 70 mph winds (sustained) for two days and temps to -25F. Yes negative. Luckily, no avalanches. Guess that is good since my state is flat as a pancake.

I'm impressed with both the celery and onion.

Hope you get your lupus under control.

  3. Yikes! Pouring rain and avalanches -- stay safe! That is terrible bruising alright. And isn't nature wonderful, how it sprouts new life so readily.

  5. My basement would be seriously flooded with that rain! Oh my -- the xR -- they always intrigue me but these are unlike any I'm familiar with. And your bread looks fabulous!

  6. I found bread machine bred to have a tough crust, too. It's okay if your hands won't let you knead anymore, but never was as good as made by hand.
    Avalanche warnings--oh my!
I'm glad there's no change on your MRI! That is good news.
Sorry they have to stick you more than once, though.
Can hardly wait to see everything as it grows this summer and what you make with it all! :)

  8. I see you're an indoor gardener after my own heart -- sprouting celery! Onions!
I hear you on needle sticks. I have thready veins that run away, and get draws done with a pediatric needle.

I think you already have a lot of seeds :-) ... I Hope the weather will be sunny soon on the US' Western coast.

  12. Really sorry for the rains ,constant heavy rains can be problematic undoubtably.
Bread made on gifted machine looks good to me :)
How nice that your brain and spine are doing well by the grace of God!
I am thankful dear Nichole that your garden is growing well despite rains😍♥️
Tons of healing energy to you and loved ones
    Blessings ♥️

  13. The weather has been crazy everywhere. This past weekend was the first time we had temperatures over 32 since December. And no change is good, even though a positive change would be nice, at least nothing was worst. But I'm really impressed with your gardening. I can't wait to get started either. Have a super Tuesday.

  14. That weather sounds horrible. I am ready for some early summer weather, even though it is not that bad here. We have had a colder than normal winter.
Your planting starts are looking good.
