T Stands for

 Hi Everyone!

Today I'm linking up with Bleubeard and Elizabeth for the Tuesday Party.

We have actually had some nice days. Not much wind and in the upper 50's. Yes, I have been playing in the garden. However, something is wrong this year. I don't know if it's the constant cold nights, my soil is bad, or what. But I have had to get rid of all my hard bean plants, 2 of my string bean plants and all of my cucumber plants. I am very diligent about soil, and protection of my garden. Everything is covered at night and when the wind is howling. So, not sure what is going on. Any ideas leave them in the comments.  With that said we have enjoyed the spinach from the garden. OMG! It is so sweet and delicious. We ate this the other night.

Tonight we are having spaghetti. What is spaghetti without a good bread?

Back to the garden. I got this Night Sky Petunia and it is growing very well.

I love these flowers.

There is not much going on here. I take Mr. M. to the Nephrologists this week and hopefully the Urologist is back from vacation and Mr. M. can get the second procedure done.
We are waiting to see what our landlord is going to do with the fence and space where the barn was.

Here are my drinks for the party.
I found this on facebook. Holiday Fanatics The artist is pretty amazing with digital art.

When you have not had coffee for an hours.

Also  I would love to have any or all of these.

That's if for now.
Wishing all of you a happy day.

Lupus Awareness Month

 Hi Everyone!

Just a few more posts on lupus awareness month. Did you know that, in the US, some 25,000 children and adolescence are diagnosed with some form of lupus? The impossible thing is.... MOST doctors don't know the symptoms. They look at the one thing that is bothering the child at that moment. So, if a child has a malar rash and a low grade fever, the child is sent home with instructions to take tylenol, keep the skin cool and the rash will go away when the fever does. WRONG!!! I had many many symptoms of lupus when I was a kid and nothing was ever done about it.

If you have a child, grandchild, or a friend with a child that have lupus symptoms MAKE sure they get to a pediatric rheumatologist!

A few more symptoms, they are the same for kids and adults.

I didn't know this until the first of this year when my lungs hurt for 2 months. Nothing eased the pain, except prednisone. You can't take a full breath, cough or sneeze, and walking up the stairs is an ordeal that I don't want to go through again.

Most of you know I call my feet, lupus feet. I have had trouble with my feet since I was a small child. My parents had to buy special shoes for me. In 1954 my parents paid $35.00 for a pair of special shoes for me. That was a lot of cash in those days. I don't know how they did it all my life with 5 other kids. Just a few weeks ago I spent $175.00 for special shoes.

I really like these memes giving out information on lupus. They are not complete or in depth but it gives you a good foundation of what lupus is and how people may feel.
I was in remission for the last 9 years. Then, lupus just thought it can do what it wants. Most of you know how sick I have been. Like one flippen thing after another.
The one thing I can pass on to people with lupus and other autoimmune, is to never give up! Get out of bed, move, stretch, take a shower and get dressed. It may take you longer to do things, but you must always take control and fight for your life.

Wishing all of you good health.

Friday Face OFF The Faces of Lupus

Welcome To Friday Face OFF (FFO)

This is the place to show off your faces or your face. Post any type of face from any medium. You can create it, or find it in nature, or even that face in the design of you
woodwork in your house.
Human, animal, alien, or monster.
ANY KIND OF FACE!
To continue with lupus awareness month, I have decided to show you some faces of lupus. I'm  showing the least horrible faces with
malar Rash. The link below will tell you of the different types of lupus that are specific for skin problems.  Cleveland Clinic.

Skin rashes are a common sign of lupus. A butterfly-shaped rash on your face called a malar rash often occurs. This rash reaches across your nose, from cheek to cheek, in a shape that resembles a butterfly. In addition to the malar rash, lupus skin rashes can appear anywhere on your body. Certain types of lupus cause distinct lupus skin rashes.

The rash is pretty bad on this face. The rashes can become thick with sores and hurts even to the touch.

The malar rash can even go into the nose  around the eye lids and into the ears.

The rashes can occur at any time for no reason at all. However, the sun is the biggest culprit. If I don't cover up and put copieus amounts of sun screen on I will break out with a rash where ever the sun touched my skin. I once got into a disagreement with my dermatologist. She was telling me I had rosacea not malar rash. I tried to tell her that malar rash has raised edges where rosacea doesn't. She wouldn't go for it and put rosacea in my medical records. It is difficult to get the medical professionals to learn about autoimmune.

malar Rash can be as easy as this

Or as difficult as this and worse.

As I wrote above, I tried to find the least horrible photos for marlar rash. There are people who suffer immensely with the lupus rashes. If I have malar rash I don't go out in public. It's not only painful but embarrassing.

Now, for something a bit lighter.

I just couldn't pass this up. Even though I don't do laundry, Mr. M. does it, I get like this when I have to dust the house. LOL
