Weird Art Wednesday WAW

Welcome to Weird Art Wednesday (WAW)
This is the place where I introduce you to artists that are as demented as I am. šŸ’€
Seriously, artists that create their way.
No boundaries.
Do you know who Hieronymus Bosch is?
He introduced and changed art in the 15th century. Actually he was born in the mid 15th century.  His art did not conform to the realistic style of his time.
Hieronymus Bosch was a Dutch painter from Brabant. He is one of the most notable representatives of the Early Netherlandish painting school. His work, generally oil on oak wood, mainly contains fantastic illustrations of religious concepts and narratives.

"By contrast, Hieronymus Bosch dived headfirst into the fantastical and the abstract. Many of his paintings present apocalyptic scenes of chaos and confusion, packed with symbolic imagery. Humans and animals are shown side-by-side with fictional creatures and freakish monsters; recognizable plants and flowers are distorted in size or color; the laws of physics are utterly defied."

While his contemporaries across Europe anchored their paintings in the familiar, Hieronymus Bosch deliberately pursued the extraordinary, forcing his audience to expand their concept of art.

I love this guy !

The Last Judgement, Hieronymus Bosch,

The Garden of Earthly Delights, below, is one of the most famous paintings by Hieronymus Bosch. It’s also one of the most complex and enigmatic works belonging to the artist. The piece is a giant triptych that consists of outer and inner panels. It is believed that the triptych was produced between 1490 and 1500.

As you can guess many artist over the centuries tried to copy Bosch's style. Some of the well known artist of our time are, Picasso and Dahli.

Wishing you a weird and wonderful day.

He's not my cup of tea but I have to admit that you could probably stare at one of his paintings for an hour and not see everything. :)
