Friday Face OFF Short Post

Welcome to Friday Face OFF (FFO)

This is the place to show off your faces or your face. Post any type of face from any medium. You can create it, or find it in nature, or even that face in the design of woodwork in your house. Any kind of face.

First, thank you all for the lovely get well comments, emails and snail mail cards.  To have all of this goodness coming in not only heals the soul but lightens the negative energy to heal the body. 💖

I'm still not walking, although I have been practicing at it. My doctor is so NOT happy with how this surgery has turned out. After our first post-op visit he contacted a mentor/friend in Co. (Let's call him A.) A asked, "Does she have lupus?" A told my doc that he had several cases over the years with knee and foot surgeries that lupus had attacked his patients as well. So, I am not a lone case with this. I will stay on low dose prednisone for the next month.  Nothing new for me. Walking is not fun at all but I take steps everyday to get back to it. The blisters are almost all drained but on the top of my ankle I got these wonderful blood blisters. (snarky) The doc did drain those. My foot still looks a mess and the pain is amazing. However, I was able to take a full blown shower. LOL
Enough!
As I can I will get to all of your blogs to see what you have been creating. For me not much. I did get this drawn, not one of my best, I couldn't concentrate. The details need refining, but here she is.
First I sketched her out then started on her nose.

Like I said I couldn't concentrate so this is where I left off.

Features from 2 weeks ago.

This is all I can do for now.
Need to elevate my foot.
Have a great day.
Now it's time to show me your face.

Nicole

Nicole, I am so sorry that this surgery has dealt you with so much pain and bother. It just sounds awful. I hope and wish for you that things will improve a lot and soon - I'm sending good and positive vibes your way. If I lived closer to you I would come over and at least would try to make you laugh if I can't help in any other way. Thank you for still having FFO for us despite all the crap that has been thrown at you. Your drawing is beautiful, by the way, what a wonderful older lady.

Hello Nicole,
I'm so sorry of your horrible health problems. I read about lupus from a book to know about it. It's nasty thing, really.
I'm wishing you soon heeling and think you with love, my friend :)

Dear Nicole, I would be happy if I could draw such a great portrait WITH all my concentration! So you can be proud of yourself for capturing the woman's facial features so well - it looks like she has a strong personality. I'm also proud of you for practicing walking and not giving up, even if it hurts. I'm not at all surprised that your doctor isn't happy with the results of the surgery. I hope you are in good medical hands now and things get better little by little! I continue to send you healing thoughts!
Hugs and warm November greetings from Austria!

I’m so sorry about your suffering. I’ve been checking to see if you posted an update, and its encouraging that you could even do just a little. The face you created is very lovely and expressive, and it’s impressive that you could do it.

Get well fast!

I'm glad to hear you're getting better. I'm sure it's too slow for you because it doesn't sound like fun. Take care of yourself and I hope next Friday you're even better than today. hugs-Erika

It's a bummer that lupus is complicating your foot surgery recovery. Sending you best wishes and hoping your pain diminishes soon, my friend.

I wish I could do that well when I am concentrating.

I hope your pain diminishes soon.

(I fell off the wagon this week, no face for me.)

Oh, Nicole, what a mess. I'm so sorry you have to be dealing with this -- with any of it. I suppose it is some wee comfort to know that this happens to others, that you're not the "weirdo with the odd symptom" but that doesn't take away the pain or the frustration. At least you could do that shower. Do you have a shower chair so you don't have to stand?

Sharing the sweetest faces I know this week!

Oh Nicole! What an ordeal!
I really hope they can figure out how to help you heal faster.
But you are getting love and healing energy and prayers from everybody and I am glad to hear there are some improvements.
Your face is so expressive. I'm surprised you could work on her at all. But doing creative activity is so good for the soul...glad you are!
May you continue to improve.
*love and hugs*

I am so sorry for your suffering. Any surgery or trauma can trigger a flare of lupus. Usually relentless. I hope you recover as swiftly as possible

Hi Nicole ... You once sent me information on how to access AI, but sadly, I can't find it. I want to do something with AI in a project I am doing ... can you tell me again, how I can access it :) Thank you ...

How rude of me to jump to my own needs without responding to your situation. I am so sorry you are having so much trouble and walking is so painful. I have had my hands full of late and unable to participate in your blog as often as I would like. I just perused your posts and was surprised at how much I have missed ... so sorry. My daughter fractured her Tibia and Fibula months ago and is still in a wheelchair. She too has pain when she walks and finds it hard to force herself to do it. I fear she will spend the rest of her life unable to walk. My heart goes out to you and I know Lupus is a wicked master, so it must take all of your strength to contend with it. That you can still be creative and maintain a blog speaks of your inner strength. I hope you are feeling better soon ... and I love your lady ... she has smiling eyes :) Stay strong, my friend ...
