Friday Face OFF 9/30/22

 Greetings!

Today is the last day of the month, can you believe that? It's also
Friday Face OFF.

Today may be the last of the male faces. Mainly because I am tired of them and all the men look the same. Scruffy face with short hair or longer hair and a longer beard. I so like a clean shaven man. LOL

I just can't get a clear photo. Too dark in here.

I want to thank everyone for the well wishes for my family. They are all OK. I hope all of my Florida friends are safe and I know all of you are with me for sending all goodness to the people in Florida.

TADD 9/29

 Hi Everyone!

Today is TADD with Rain. Her theme this week is Hair.  I am so glad I have the option of NOT following it. LOL

For all of my friends that live in Florida please stay as safe as you can. My Son, DIL,
G-son, G-daughter and G-granddaughters all
live in Florida. Even though they tell me not to worry I do.

This last week I made BBQ Beef pizza. I know.. it sound terrible but it is really very good.

Yesterday I made almond cookies half dipped in chocolate and covered with almond bits.

 These are so good.

Today I made, what we call, French Bread. I make a lot of bread in winter. This recipe has the perfect elasticity and baked up beautifully.

The crust is thin with a great crunch. The crumb is the perfect tightness. Just enough air holes and not too big.

Oh the things I find at the $1.25 store. LOL

This is now hanging on my art room door.

I've been wanting to show all of you this for awhile now. It's a card I was gifted for my art room door.

It's all done in paper quilling.

Well that's all I got for today.
I invite you to join me tomorrow for
Friday Face OFF

Answering some questions from you

 Hi Everyone!

I don't post on Wednesdays very often but I wanted to answer some questions that have been posed in the comment section. OK, this isn't a question buttt... Carola bARTz mentioned that she cleans up her garden but also plants a fall crop.  Deb  from Learning2just breath asked, "no chance of a Fall garden? Where do you live??

Okayyy.... I live in the town of Florence, Oregon on the Cold Angry Pacific Coast. I am about 1 mile from the beach and a few blocks from the Siuslaw River. (SY oos law) Let me tell you the wind is constant. Also, I rent where I live and as fantastic as my landlord is, this is still his property and so container gardening works best for both of us. This part of the coast used to be a rain forest. A century of logging and well.... less trees less rain. With that said we still get more rain than most places in the US. This year we had a record breaking rain all the way into June. Today the rains have already started for winter. So a fall garden for me is out of the question. However, I must say that in the short growing season that I have my crops are plentiful. I am thankful for that.

With the cool, wet summers things grow full and lush. There are days I don't even have to water. The salty moisture is certainly good for gardens. I just have to protect everything from the winds.

This is truly what most of my mornings look like. I was corrected when I called it fog. It's a marine layer. LOL All this moisture makes for a pretty lush garden. However, there are things that just don't do well here. Tomatoes, and peppers. It is just too windy and cold.

Over the years I have learned that any kind of squash, peas, green beans, hard bean, leafy veggies, onions, carrots, beets, and cabbage grow like crazy.
This is just one of the cabbages.

The thing that I really love growing here are potatoes. I do grow them in 5 gallon buckets and get enough to last all year.

I did start some in the ground and hope they produce before winter hits.

Lettuce and spinach I dry can and put it in my fridge. They will last 4 or more weeks. The best idea that was ever shared with me.

Ohhh.... sorry I got carried away. I can talk garden all day long.

T Stands for End of Garden Season

 Hi Everyone!

Today is T-Tuesday. The party that Bleubeard and Elizabeth holds each week. The way to get in is to make a post and feature a drink.
My post today is the closing of my garden.
Boo hoo hoo.
We have already started
to get rain so it's time.

Containers washed and sanitized for next  year. Oh they will come inside before the weather hits.

Containers with soil that will be refurbished for next year.

The big garden tied down and ready for winter. Mr. M. fixed it so the water will run off the tarp. I personally think it should have a bigger hump in the middle. Mr. M laughed at me. Once it was done he put the hose to it andddd... well he was right. The water rolled right off. Darn... :)

I'm still hoping goodness from these potatoes. They are really strong and healthy.

Isn't this cool? It the roots from one of my bean plants.

 It's perfectly dry

All I see is the most amazing spirit doll.

Speaking of spirit dolls. I have one left in this series. She is 15" including embellishment and 9" across. If any one is interested in her
please email me.

Now for my drink. I am getting use to the instant coffee and even have a cup in the evenings.
Be sure to stop by Elizabeth's.
