Food Wednesday and 29 faces

 Hi Everyone!

I am excited to join Kathy for
Everybody eats so why not join in? Fancy or not, vegan, gluten free, low carb, healthy or not. Food brings people together.  What have you been cooking, baking, or buying out? Come share it at Kathy's Food Wednesday
Last night was pork and dressing. With baked potato and home canned green beans. It was way too much food. We could have done with out the potato.

First I pounded the pork. This was one large piece cut in half.

I season with garlic salt and poultry seasoning

Get the dressing started. Put a lid on it and set aside.

Wash and prepare the potatoes. I "bake" mine in the microwave for 5 minutes. They come out perfectly.

 Chop some onion and celery

Melt some butter or ghee in the pan

Saute the onions and celery just until the onions are translucent. Then set aside.

In the same pan add a bit of olive or grapeseed oil and brown the pork just a little. This is going into the oven.

Mix the dressing and onion together and put into a baking dish. Place the pork on top and put into a 385°F 196°C for about 15 minutes.

I NEVER use boxed food but I didn't have time to make my own dressing from scratch. I got Stovetop pork flavor and I must say it is REALLY good!

This is day 23 for 29 faces. I started a clay face that will go in a spirit box. I really like working with DAS clay. It's almost dry.
To see more 29 faces stop over at
That's it for now.
Whatever you do today,
make it great!

Wow, you sure beat that pork up, LOL! Ingo always uses... a hammer (at least with the tick end).
Hmmm, looks a bit like Schnitzel. YUM!
Is the face astonished or sad, I cannot decide....

Yum, this looks really good! I haven't made pork in a long time. Usually, I'll buy a pork loin to cook in the oven for my barbecue pork but fixed like this...nope never have...I don't think. Eons ago, I liked frying pork chops but I don't buy pork on the bone anymore. You get little meat which makes it kinda expensive. I may have to try using grapeseed oil. Does it work well for most foods? DH seems sensitive to many veggie oils. Right now I primarily use corn which doesn't seem to bother him that he can tell. Thanks for the food inspiration!

That a huge meal, but it does look really good. I remember when I used to be able to eat all that. No more. And I probably weighed less when I could eat it all than now. Oh those metabolisms. But I think I would have to make a big effort to try to eat as much of this as possible, full or not. Happy Wednesday Nicole. hugs-Erika

Other than the pork, your meal looks good. I've not heard of Stove Top for pork, but I have used the original on occasion. I actually prefer it to my dressing.

You can come and cook at my house any time you want. We make everything from scratch too. Prepared food is so full of salt, chemicals and taste enhancers. No wonder it tastes good. As for baked potatoes, we do ours in the oven so that the skin crisps up nicely. In the summer we often set them on the barbecue.
