TAD Winter Night Scene

 Hi Everyone!

Today is TAD and Rain's theme is, Winter Night Scene. I have some pictures from google that I have stashed away because I wanted to paint them. However, I haven't had time for that.

Elizabeth from Altered Book Lover ask if I put my window onions in dirt. Ya know this one.

Yes, today I am planting this. I was hoping to have it done yesterday to show photos, but all of my garden soil is covered and not accessible. I had Mr. M. get me a small bag yesterday. 2 points, plant it into the permanent container or ground area. Next, onions need a good douse of Nitrogen when planted so mix the dirt well with some bone meal. Since it's still winter, I will keep my onions in the house. I will be able to use the tops for the next few months, then put outside when winter is over.
I haven't been doing much cooking. Both Mr. M. and I have not been that hungry, so we just fend for ourselves. I needed to use up the left-over mini meat loaf so made a grilled cheese sandwich with it on sourdough bread.
OMG good!

Here is a blast from the past. When Mr. M. and I came in from living remote we landed a job at a resort. I will tell you it was very difficult to come back to society, a roof of our heads and back to a job. The place was still out in the wilderness and we continued to live on the upper property in the forest.
Me at work. I managed the store Mr. M. managed the boat docks. I think I was 33 years old here. One thing I remember clearly was always trying to get the owner to unclutter this area. Haa the guy who owned this place a clutter monger.

I guess that's it for today. Be sure to visit Rain and why not join in with the TAD gang.

Have a great day everyone!

Nicole

Nicole,

Great scenes you've picked for your future painting endeavers. I do this, too. Oh my goodness, you look like a teenager in that photo, not at all like a 33 year old woman. :) I like having meatloaf sandwiches with melted cheese. Yum! :p

Any of those pictures would be wonderful to paint.

I'm not familiar with window onions, so you've got my curiosity up! I'll have to see what I can find out about them.

I can see why you chose those images to paint. They are all great and I know you will put your own spin on them.

Thanks for explaining about the onion and the need for bone meal. I will look, but I don't believe I have any.

I had to laugh at your comment about the clutter on the counter. Haven't you heard of point of sale? That owner sure did (grin!). I hate clutter, too, so that would drive me crazy. You sure look good there for 33.

NO comment on the food. Too hungry right now and I won't eat meat.

That sandwich looks yummy, and wee... thank you. I just put my boring bread with cheese in the microwave - 100% better!
Eww... clutter. I know what I do on Saturday!

Would you like to tell more about your life in the remote area?

Now that is serious clutter. It would drive me crazy. And by the way, you were a knockout! I am sure you still are.

I just left a comment, but I have a sneaking suspicion it didn't go through. I will check back later.

Oh look at you in that picture! I love it and your hair is so nice and long!!! I am drooling over that sandwich. I used to make meatloaf all the time, but I eat mostly veggie now. I think I might make a chickenloaf just so I can have that sandwich lol...I like the photo you put of the house on the bottom left, looks a wee bit haunted! :)

Oh yes, I would love to see progress on your onion! I watched a video the other day, how to grow food from kitchen scraps, I'll email you the link.

Great winter scenes, and I love the photo of you Nicole. You look a little like my oldest friend. We're the same age, 60 this year, but I've known her since we were 4 and started school together.

Nice selection of pics!

Sounds awesome to have lived in a wilderness area.

You look lovely and such gorgeous thick hair!

I love toasted sandwiches! I love that we can get decent vegan cheese nowadays that actually melts.
