Hi Everyone!
Today is the T-party over at Elizabeth's
Be sure to stop by to see what all the T-party goers are doing.
First a question, it's an easy one. LOL
When you read my posts is the font too big?
Having trouble keeping it just on size. Please let me know in the comments. Thanks.
Now Granny Annie over at Fools Rush In reminded me that 29 Faces starts again Feb. 1. Even though Martha doesn't link this up to her blog anymore you can still link up on FB and IG. However, Annie and I are going to link up together to show what we are doing. That will keep me committed to getting all of the faces done. Since I have not been drawing much at all I needed to get some warm ups done.
Here is a 3-minute warm up.
T-party. 3 berry cobble and coffee. Yum!
The other day I canned some ground beef. Now this is not new to me, however, the patties are new for me, so I had to try them. I have been asked what I do with the canned meat. Sooo many things. I use them in tacos, casseroles, soups, anything you would use ground beef for.
I have to say the flavor is excellent. You season before canning. I got 9 pints of meat.
The meat was 80/20 market ground so a bit more grease.
I do have onions in these.
As for flavor, unbelievably good. Tenderness is excellent. These are pretty thick and cutting with a fork was easy. Texture is good? OK, I found that the texture didn't bother me, but I did find that the meat was a bit crumbly as I chewed. Hard to explain but overall, I give these and A+. I will definitely can patties again but in a quart jar for bigger patties.

Here is the YT again for those of you who want to try this.
Enjoy your day!

...yum!
Interesting on canning beef. Your tea looks delish. Gorgeous work on the face.
My Grandma always canned allot of meat, was nice to see it on her shelves. many can their venison meat too. I do miss canning I have done it all my life-well since my early 20's haha I have large heavy canners so I need a gas stove first.
Your crumble looks delicious enjoy the faces challenge
Happy T oh and the font size is fine for me a little hard on my eyes with the white on the black-but its all good Kathy
I don't have trouble with your font, but if I did it'd be easy enough to smallify or embiggen.
I like that face. Engaging. I find myself leaning in towards her :)
The cobbler and coffee is a definite improvement on my coffee only morning. Yummm
I freeze ground beef in patties. It is convenient to have it on-hand, and it doesn't last long just in the fridge.
Happy T Tuesday!
Fonts are NEVER too big for me!
Nicole, I was fascinated with her video on canning meat and kept going to her other YT videos. There is no way I would do any of this but I am betting my daughter would. Thank you for this. Have you picked a theme for February 29 Faces? September I chose characters from Game Of Thrones so I am thinking I will do characters from YELLOWSTONE this time.
I like the font and size you are using. That's a wonderful (only 3 minute!) sketch. Would love some of that berry cobble with my coffee. Happy T day!
Nicole, keep going on all fronts, hope your weather is easing up. I always get hungry when you post food!! Font size is great for me. Donna
Glad you are enjoying the fruits - errr - meats of your labour, it all looks great. Happy T Day, Valerie
Berry cobbler sounds and looks delicious, I will enjoy looking and not eating (any more) Your font is bigger than most but is easy to read so no worries but it's easy to change. You can compare it to the size of the font in the comments. Happy T Day! Elle/EOTC xx
I like the design of your website, including the font and size. It’s easy to read and I don’t have to enlarge it.

I love your portrait art Nicole, looking forward to seeing your 29 faces next month.
The canned patties I have not heard of-but they look fabulous. I have always liked canned meat. Your face drawing is great.
I have never heard of canned hamburger patties. Sounds like a great idea for saving time and the addition of onions sounds delicious.
Your faces have very much improved since you started sharing them. Looks great!
Yum! I will have a piece of Berry cobbler.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
My eyes aren't what they used to be so the larger print was a nice surprise. Looks like you'll be off to a great start with the 29 Faces challenge. Happy T Day
I actually prefer the bigger font, Nicole. Your crumble looks like it will go nicely with your coffee. Since I'm a vegetarian, I will say how much I like your face you drew, look forward to more in Feb., and thank you for joining us with coffee and crumble for T this Tuesday, dear friend.
I never heard of anyone canning beef patties. They would be perfect for a lot of menu items. A great idea! I would love to have some of that berry cobbler, for sure! Happy t Day
That face is fantastic. Faces are intimidating for me, especially if I am trying to draw an actual someone's face. And your cobbler looks yummy. We have apple crisp that I made this morning, which I am looking forward to. Hope you had a great T day Nicole. hugs-Erika
The font and the size of it is just perfect, I like it.
Your canned meat looks delicious (even though I don't eat much beef anymore, only occasionally). I'm still amazed at all the canning and preserving you do.
Great face!
hahaha, no, the font is great! As in easy to read!
Wow, 3 minutes! Great work. Reminds me of when I studied. But that was bodies, not faces, faces are too hard for me to draw.
Oh! Taco!!! My last is ten years ago. The restaurant closed, Hubby doesn´t like it so....
A friend once presented me with canned ground beef for Christmas (I don´t like sweets) - it was great (but from a butcher).
Oh, back to Tenderness, LOL.
I will look forward to more interesting faces - and that does not involve looking in the mirror!
Fab face! I hate to see what I would do in 3 min!!!!
Love that you do canned beef - that is so impressive and I love all your pictures. You are quite adventurous. One day I am going to learn to can and to make beautiful decorated cookies - two bucket list items.
Yum on the dessert!!!
Hapy T-day Nicole and hugz.
Great portrait art, Nicole! I look forward to reading your next post with other other faces :-)
The font is perfect. that looks so yum!
Nicole,
Why is canning prepared meat better to freezing it? I'm curious. Usually, I make enough with my meals where we can have for left overs for a few weeks and the freezer does nicely to preserve its freshness. I know if I keep anything in the freezer for long periods it needs to be properly packaged to prevent freezer burn or taste from affecting the meat. Perhaps that's the biggest difference in the two processes but I'm not an expert and hopefully you can shed new light. :)
I love your warm up face - sounds although you are going to have fun!
Your coffee and cobbler looks so good!
The font size looks great to me.
Belated Happy T Day, Chrisx
Font looks great for blog and canned meat sounds delish ~ Xo
