Sunday I canned chicken dinners. I used my home canned chicken broth. |
The Celery and onions came from my garden. |
Canned and ready to eat. |
Ahhh one jar broke. It happens. |
Then I prepared carrots, potatoes and apples. |
I canned 14 pints of carrots and potatoes and 4 pints of apple sauce. |
Back to Saturday I made spaghetti sauce. The meat is ground beef, Italian sweet sausage and beef chorizo. |
I used my home canned sauce. OMG good. |
The sauce is rich in flavor and perfectly seasoned. Home canned sauce is the way to go. |
I also baked a blueberry cake from berries we picked this last summer. |
Then today, Monday, Mr. M. and I cleaned up the garden part of the yard. Time for the sun flowers to come down and get mulched. |
The garden area is cleaned up. The PVC is put away too. |
Pallets are stacked with containers of saved soiled. It will all get wrapped in a tarp to be protected from winter storms. |
Now it is beer thirty. |

T stands for a busy post.
Happy T-Day.
I am writing this now because I will be off line tomorrow.
This is T stands for busy post with Elizabeth over at
This last weekend I had the energy of a 20 year old.
(ahhh those were the days LOL)
Anyway, On Saturday I made a new Roman style curtain for one of my kitchen windows. The fabric is rich red with embossed bamboo in it. I just love it!!!
I will be back on line Wednesday. See ya then.

...you sure have been busy!
Your canning achievements look amazing. I'm surprised by canning potatoes -- I thought they kept for the winter at root-cellar-temperature.

Wow. I am impressed with everything you accomplished Nicole. Funny how those energy spurts just come. Don't you wish you could bottle them and have them whenever you want it? Hope you have a super T day. Hugs-Erika
Such a great yield from your garden! And I love that you are canning so many different things. You certainly deserve a rest after all that work.
Happy Tea Day,
Kate
I love your curtains, you are a great seamstress AND cook.
There's only 24 hours in a day -- how do you do it all?!
That's a beautiful Roman shade. Wish my bamboo was that easy to control!
You are going to eat so well this winter. All your hard work will definitely pay off, dear. Be safe tomorrow and enjoy your time away.
Thanks for sharing your canning, your Roman shade, your work to put the garden to bed, and of course, your beer with us for T this almost Tuesday. BTW, I look forward to seeing the fabric you will be selling.
WOW, you were busy!!! Amazing! And beautiful / yummy!!!
Hey Nicole, your life is lookin' pretty good if we're just looking at these photos of yours 👍🏻😉

I am exhausted just looking at the results! Your curtain is terrific.
Oh wow you’ve been so busy, such a lot of meals prepared, I’m not surprised you needed a cold beer.
Happy at Day
Jan
Wow Nicole! You are really great with the kitchen (I am not). The canned celery and the blueberry cake look delicious! And I LOVE your new RED CURTAIN!!! Hugs, my friend.
Oh, my, you weren't busy, you were uber busy! All that canned food. You won't have to cook for months! After all the food prep and yard work, you deserve a beer or two! Happy T Day Oh, and your shades look spectacular!
Such a fabulous post! Loving your new Roman blinds and wow, well done canning all the food - amazing 😁. The pasta sauce looks so very yummy! Wishing you a Happy T Day! Hugs Jo x
Your chicken dinners look tasty, and your spaghetti sauce! yummy :) Saying goodbye to the sunflowers is hard.
Happy T Tuesday
You've been busy. I love canning, I used to can, freeze, dehydrate allot. if you have your garden veggies it saves allot of money and tastes so much better. love your new curtain too-Happy T Kathy
You are a busy bee, so impressed. You must have a lot of jars.
Wow! You are quite the energizer bunny, lady!! Whew! :)
OM Gosh, you were busy and did a lot of cool things! I am so so impressed with your canning - it all looks fabulous. Love that roman shade and how great your yard looks. You need to figure out how you got all that energy and share it with us. Happy T-day a bit late (I needed some of your energy - lol).
Wow, when you have a burst of energy you have to take advantage of it. And oh boy, did you work! The Roman blind is gorgeous! And all that canning impresses me no end. It all looks really delicious. I have never canned except the odd jar of jam when I had too much fruit. I chicken dinner sounds good. Do you put in everything raw? And then sterilize the jars? When you cook your dinner, what do you do then? Fry everything? or cook it in the oven? How does it work?
Your garden looks clean and tidy and ready for winter. No winter crops? I don't know where in the world you live so perhaps it's really cold where you are.
It's wonderful that you have visited Japan. (It's on my bucket list, but I don't think it will ever happen).
I'm sorry to be late again, but as I've mentioned before, we are not home on a Tuesday and I can't get to my computer.
Happy belated T-Day,
Hugs,
Lisca
Goodness, you have been busy. I admire all the canning, it looks grand. Can I have some of your energy?
I Love that you canned so much from your garden. It all looks great. Too bad you can't can some of that energy! LOL Happy Week!
Nicole,
You had a busy, productive weekend. All of that canning! You're going to have some good things later to eat, though. A couple of weeks ago, I made home-made spaghetti for the first time in a very long time and it turned out delicious. While I didn't use fresh tomatoes, store-bought canned ones worked well with my spices. I love doing cooking from scratch whenever possible. Like you said, it's so much better!
wow i am just amazed with your energy (God willing) and specially your canning is outstanding dear Nichole !
the way you manage to do everything so perfectly and on time reminds me my late mother who was astonishingly active and we hardly saw her sitting leisurely .
you are really smart so hats off to you!
i can see how big is your yard ,a perfect place for gardening wow !
blessings!
wow! one busy lady ~ Love the kitchen curtain and all those canned goods will be great in the winter ~ Xo
