TAD with Rain Rough Textures

Hello Everyone!

Today is Thursday Art Date, (TAD) with Rain.  Her theme this week is Rough Textures.
Now this is my kind of art and I have some pieces that fit the theme. These pieces are made with a mixture I make of plaster, drywall and glue. It is so much fun to get your hands into this. LOL Once the mixture is dry I lay in the paint and then give it a high shine finish.
I call this my abstract texture art.

Be sure to stop by Rain's blog to see what everyone has created for this theme. Also if you want to see how Rain creates art and other wonderful surprises head over to here you tube channels. You will not be disappointed.

One last thing. You have seen this photo of my dear sweet great granddaughter. She went to school and within a week tested positive for covid.
She lives in Florida, so that should tell you why.
She doesn't seem to be very ill but please send healing energy to her.
Eva 8 years old.

Don't send your kids to school unmasked no matter what the
idiot governor says.
If you don't think the delta variant or covid 19 can hurt you,
YOU ARE WRONG! Protect yourself and others. Wear a MASK!

These abstract art pieces are beautiful and they truly DO have a lot of great texture. You did good, dear. I'm going to try to join later today.

Poor Eva. I hope she is able to keep feeling OK. DeSantos should be caged and gagged.

Your art is beautiful, makes me want to feel it! So sorry about your little Eva, there are still so many Covidiots about, refusing to mask or keep their distance, hope she is soon well again. Valerie

Rough texture has a certain appeal to it, doesn't it? Maybe the next thing I leave something half finished I can claim it is my rough-textured creation!

Fun designs! I especially like those square panels.

I'm so sorry to hear about your little one :( and way off in Florida, too. I hope she continues to have a light case and recovers quickly.

Dear Eva, don’t give in! Protection from Covid will work, please hang in there. I don’t have the answer to the DeSantises of the world, but they have to be overcome. Be brave little one!
Nicole, your art is so organic. I love it! I see a face in one of them, maybe there are more? It’s impossible to pick a favorite, but I do like the aqua with curly-Q. How do you get those curleys to stand up?

Nicole,

Came by a few minutes ago, and power went off so I had to shut everything down. Just as I did the power came back on. *roll eyes* Interesting artwork. Nice textures. Saying prayers for your beautiful granddaughter. I'm sure she'll bounce through Covid like a champ without much trouble. ;)

I am so sorry about your beautiful Great Granddaughter (Can't imagine that you are old enough to have a great granddaughter :) and yes, you are so right about wearing a mask ... even if you are vaccinated. I hope your little one is feeling better soon. Now for your textured pieces of art ... Wonderful ... I love them all and so unique. I thought I would pick a favorite, but couldn't decide. They each have their own moment of glory. Wonderful post, Nicole, and I am sending all of my positive energy to your adorable Granddaughter (and all of my negative energy to the Florida Governor. I hope he gets the Covid and experiences what he is doing to others). (Sorry, I am not really usually that vindictive, but there is a limit to my patience.) Stay well, Nicole ...

It breaks my heart that your sweet Eva caught Covid, Nicole! I'm sending healing energy for her and will remember her in my prayers. The whole Florida-Covid-Ron DeSantis thing makes me crazy!

I love your abstract texture art. It looks like such fun to create! If I were still teaching, I would try this technique with my kiddos. Years ago my teammates and I tried doing modeling/sculpturing with our second and third grade kiddos using sawdust from a mill. One of my teammates went up to the mountains to get the sawdust. I forget what we mixed it with to make a modeling medium. Well, the sawdust turned out to be full of splinters and glass. We didn't realize how bad it was until we started seeing dinosaurs and monsters with splinter and glass spikes and weapons. We totally freaked out, but no one ended up with cuts or splinters. Such is the life of busy second/third grade teachers. LOL!

Happy September to you! Stay safe!

Nicole, I'm so sorry to hear about your great granddaughter, it infuriates me but I won't use your blog as a platform...I hope she gets better soon and that she doesn't have any bad symptoms...When I was out yesterday the number of covidiots (thanks Valerie for that word!!) were beyond countable.

On a nice note, your art is fantastic. I especially love that yellow piece!
