Hi Everyone!
I hope your Saturday is going well. So far mine is. August and September are the nicest months of the year here. We do get some sort of summer with less wind. That makes it perfect for me to can outside.
Here is my set up this year. However, I am going to build a table that my burner sets into so it is not so high. I have to stand on a stool and that is not safe.
Cucumbers from my garden.

This is a quick water bath canning for sweet pickles.
|
This is a brown sugar recipe and is the best.
|
Peppers are doing great in the GH. They wouldn't grow last year outside.
|
I have been picking tomatoes everyday. Another plant that didn't grow last year outside of the GH.
|
I just might get a few brussel sprouts this year.
|
Pinto beans still have a way to go.
|
The black beans are doing very well. Can't wait for them to turn so I can harvest them.
|
I am so happy with the Sun Flowers
|
|
Sweet Green onions one of my favorites.
|
Just pretty.
|
Oh I don't think I showed I pressure canned string beans from my garden this week too.
|
These make me smile

I have mentioned before that the coast has a lot of rats and several different types. Don't worry I am not going to share rat photos. I am going to show you the other creepy thing that loves living here. Snails. OMG! they are in abundance this year. Even my local gardening friends have said so. This was actually on my GH wall.
YUCK!!!
Like it or not I threw salt on it. I have tried the beer trap, Sluggo, Bug-Getta and nothing keeps them away.
Well that's my garden for today. What are you growing and how has the weather helped or hindered?
Have a great day everyone!

...I have been doing dill pickles, freezing green and wax beans and canned 15 pints of beets.
Love your garden photos, fresh tomatoes every day off the vine wow and I have never seen brussels sprouts on the plant.
Boa tarde Nicole. Produzir o próprio alimento e uma dádiva que poucos possuem ou querem. Parabéns pelo seu incentivo à uma vida saudável. Um excelente sábado.
Fabulous harvest from your garden! But snails are gross. I even have them eating my herbs on my balcony! Valerie
Wow, your sunflowers "burn"!
Ewww. Wild rats are as awful as snails.
The first we have in the cellar, the concierge put up a warning sign there is poison put out. Since weeks I wanted to go down but kinda... ewww....
I hope my "baby-strawberries" make it. Didn´t look well yesterday...
what a lovely harvest dear Nichole wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
oh that is not good you have stand on stool for reaching the burner ,great idea about table ,hope it is ready soon .
oh yes snails are creepy for me but my sons used to have them in hands and i was like oh my god
Looks like your garden has been productive despite the slugs.
Amazing! The harvest, not the snail. We have them here too, but the few we have are not worth going after. Just give me the baby willies, unlike snakes that cause huge willies.
Stunning garden
What an amazing harvest you get each week. You are so blessed. I also hate slugs and I found salt was the only way to get rid of them. All I am harvesting is dill and dill and dill and mint. Even the cats are tired of catnip. My pepper plants finally have little white flowers on them, but if I'm lucky, I might get one bell pepper before the frost in late September or early October!
Great your glasses with sweet cucumber and beans and they all flourish so well with you. The snail plague is bad.
The laughing blossom, I love it too. Nice to harvest your joy in your garden and watch everything bloom.
Have a good new week. hug Elke
Wow! You really do have an amazing crop of vegetables, I'm really impressed Nicole. Beautiful blooms too. You're the queen of gardening!
Happy Sunday,
Alison
Everything looks great. That's good that you have a greenhouse where you can grow things.
Wow, the garden is producing some fantastic produce and flowers. I love making pickles. No cucumbers for me yet, but yours do look very good. And sound yummy too. Thanks for giving me the link to garden blog. I am off to check it now. Have a great start to the new week. Hugs-Erika
Your garden is doing exceptionally well! Enjoyed seeing what you canned and the beautiful flowers.
I admire your gardening skill and green fingers. The vegetables and beans are going so well and so healthy. I have just sowed some seeds, hope the heavy rain doesn't wash away the seeds. To get rid of the snails, I used snail pellets and so far, haven't seen any snails in my garden.
Your sunflowers are marvelous (red and yellow).
Unfortunately, snails may damage lettuce and leaves in our garden ... That's why some farmers love toads, as this big frog is able to eat snails.
I am envious you have been picking tomatoes every day 🙂🍅 ... great to hear your GH is working.
Have a nice week, Nicole
What a treasure trove your garden is ~ delightful foods ~ Xo

You've been busy! We have rats and slugs here, too. Pests :( They're everywhere, I think.
Your garden is doing so well, lovely photographs.
All the best Jan
we tried making pickles last year, but they didnt turn out. maybe try again one year. that is a tiny slug, better just to squish them under a boot then salt them i think
Lovely post, Thanks for sharing with Garden Affair.
