Greetings!
I can't believe it's Monday again already. I have caught up on blogging comments, have my house cleaned, the garden is doing great, and I made a Polenta desert for Mr. M. Now I like my Plenta savory. Mr. M. likes just about anything sweet.
Here is the recipe. Lidia is an Italian lady who makes the best food and has a TV show on Saturdays.
I spoke to one of my nephews today and with all of that I watched movies to share with you.
I was in a macabre sort of mood. Hee hee hee
This first movie is, "The Tall Man" Not really scary but a lot of twist and turns and a great ending.
The Tall Man is a 2012 Canadian and French mystery-horror film written and directed by Pascal Laugier. It was filmed in the Kootenay region of Southeastern British Columbia[5] and stars Jessica Biel.
The film is set in a small former mining town where poverty is rife and
children are disappearing on a regular basis. The abductions are blamed
on a local legend
called "the Tall Man." Jessica Biel plays a widowed nurse whose child
is abducted, leading her on a desperate chase to recover him.
I watched this on Prime, it is free on
Tubi and $2.99 on Vudu and Youtube.
The next movie is some what scary but the story behind the scare is loving and emotional and full of human struggle.
You don't quite know what it's about until the end.
It's called, "This House" and I watched it on Netflix.
It's a movie I will watch again. There is a bit of flashbacks and dreams and I missed a few things.
The ending, is the will to live and persevere.
I chose this trailer because of the narrator's explanation and the shots of the movie. I hope you can take time to watch this one. Highly recommend.

...time waits for no one!
Thanks for the recipe, I don't do polenta much.
I will definitely watch both movies this week. Love your recommendations.
Bom dia Nicole, obrigado pelas maravilhosas dicas.
I never had polenta.
I've seen Lidia's show and like her. I'm sometimes inspired to try something new. I'll check out the movies. Thanks!
I have a couple of Lidia's cookbooks, and I used to watch her show a long time ago. She often told very wonderful stories about her girlhood, before she immigrated to New York. She had some pretty famous restaurants, too, along with the now-disgraced Mario Batali.

I would love to see the first film, but I don't have Prime or Netflix. Lucky you!
Well, I rented The Tall Man in 2015 and gave it two stars. Not a fav.
His House sounds really intense and sad, so I'll pass right now.
I'm watching a bunch of murder mystery series--but the lighter, British sort--LOL!
Have a fabulous week! :)
I've never had polenta, never had a chance
I tell people it is like Italian grits but you can do more with it. LOL.
Yes, M. B. is a scumbag. I looked up exactly what he did and how the Eataly bought him out.
I wonder if they sell it in Germany? Maybe at a specialty store?
Hey busy girl!! I know how you feel! LOL! I hope you're doing ok from your vaccine shots! I've got to see the Tall Man! Big Hugs!
Not my kind of movie, but I bet the Kootenays were spectacular!
